What To Do When The Boss Takes A Liking To You

What To Do When The Boss Takes A Liking To You chapter 72

You Call Me a Brat, and Also a Rogue

Even though Xu Le knew the office door was tightly shut and no one would dare enter without Lan Qing’s permission, this abstinent and confined work environment, with documents and a laptop that had just gone to sleep mode around him, constantly reminded him this was a serious CEO’s office, not a place for fooling around.

However, Lan Qing’s arms surrounded his body, enclosing him within the space of the desk and his embrace, leaving no gaps.

“You… you’re the CEO. Are you trying to start an office romance?” Xu Le kept leaning back, trying to escape Lan Qing’s breath.

Just smelling Lan Qing’s scent made his face blush and even his earlobes turned red. Not to mention those beautiful blue eyes staring at him, as if they wanted to devour him whole.

Lan Qing touched his face, getting very close, smiling with interest, “This company is mine. Isn’t it only natural for me to do what I want with you?”

Xu Le’s face, touched by Lan Qing’s cool fingers, felt as if tiny electric currents ran through his skin, making his body tremble slightly.

He leaned back, avoiding Lan Qing’s fingers, muttering, “I didn’t realize you were such a bratty rogue before…”

“What did you say?” Lan Qing’s deep blue eyes flashed with a dangerous glint.

Sensing danger, Xu Le quickly put on a bright smile, vaguely saying, “I said nothing, haha, I meant you’re so handsome and capable, I admire you very much!”

Although they were already lovers and had become much more comfortable with each other, even joking around, Xu Le still held a sense of fear and respect for Lan Qing in a work environment.

His lie was clumsy, and Lan Qing had clearly heard him earlier.

“I clearly heard you call me a brat and a rogue?” Lan Qing raised an eyebrow, watching how Xu Le would respond.

A sly puppy.

Xu Le instinctively sensed danger, moved his hand further back, and kept up his awkward smile while inching away.

Lan Qing’s desk was fitting for his status, with a smooth, large walnut surface that allowed Xu Le to move back easily.

Smiling at Lan Qing while inching back, he thought about how to solve this situation.

“No, you heard wrong!” he stubbornly lied.

Although he thought, he wasn’t wrong, was he?

What kind of CEO calls a subordinate to the office to flirt during work hours? If that’s not a bratty rogue, what is?

Even if they are boyfriends, it’s not right!

As Xu Le scooted back, his hand suddenly touched the cold surface of a cup. The cup was still half full of iced coffee.

Startled, he quickly withdrew his hand, fearing it might spill. To his left was a pile of important documents.

Documents on Lan Qing’s desk must be important.

As he pulled his hand back, Lan Qing’s handsome face loomed close, and Xu Le felt a tightness around his waist as Lan Qing kissed him.

Thanks to recent frequent kissing practice, Xu Le almost instinctively opened his mouth to accept the kiss.

He was so comfortable being kissed that he forgot where he was, let alone the coffee beside him.

With a clatter, the cup tipped over, followed by the sound of liquid dripping onto the floor.

Xu Le glanced with the corner of his eye, nearly scared out of his wits.

It was over, he was in big trouble!

The previously intact documents were now ruined by coffee.

He hurriedly pushed against Lan Qing’s chest, “No, stop kissing, the documents… mmm—”

Lan Qing didn’t seem to notice any of this; instead, he tightened his grip on Xu Le’s narrow waist in his embrace, kissing unhurriedly, with a slow rhythm, as if this kiss would lead to the end of the world.

Xu Le, tense yet forced to cooperate, was constantly on edge, but his senses were overwhelmed with pleasure. This mix of contradictory sensations exploded like a kaleidoscope, making his head spin.

It wasn’t until Lan Qing finally let go of him that his lips went numb.

Ten seconds later, he hastily scrambled to pick up the coffee-soaked documents beside him, trembling as he held the soggy stack of papers.

The writing was still legible, but it was all in English, which he couldn’t really understand.

He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple moving dryly, and anxiously asked Lan Qing, “This… it got wet, can it still be used?”

Lan Qing looked at him steadily for a while before slowly speaking, “What do you think?”

Oh no, it definitely can’t be used…

Xu Le’s mind went blank, blaming the other for being too attractive and too good at kissing; he should have resisted that kiss!

His handsome face scrunched up like a bitter melon, and the tuft of messy hair on his head seemed to droop in sympathy, making him look like a dejected puppy.

For the first time, Xu Le experienced the real feeling of causing trouble.

He hopefully asked Lan Qing, “Do you have a backup of this document? I can print another copy for you, okay?”

Lan Qing glanced at the wet documents, lowered his long eyelashes, and asked again, “What do you think?”

“Huh? No way, there’s no backup?” Xu Le was truly panicked now.

He pushed Lan Qing away, who didn’t resist, and Xu Le easily broke free.

“Do you have a hairdryer here? Maybe we can dry it out and still use it. It’s all your fault; you should have reminded me when I had coffee by my side. Now I’ve caused trouble, sigh…”

Xu Le, as soon as his feet touched the ground, wanted to go to Lan Qing’s office to find a hairdryer.

“In my impression, there’s no hairdryer here.”

Hearing this, Xu Le’s face turned pale.

“Huh?” After cleaning the desk and tidying up, he looked at the ruined document in his hand, ready to cry but with no tears.

Seeing that Xu Le was really panicking, Lan Qing decided not to tease him anymore and pulled him into his arms, “Do you think I wouldn’t have the original documents?”

Xu Le: “?”

Realizing the documents were fine, Xu Le breathed a sigh of relief, then felt a bit embarrassed and angry, “Then why didn’t you tell me earlier? You made me worry for nothing, thinking I caused trouble.” He hadn’t forgotten he was still an employee.

Lan Qing kissed him on the forehead reassuringly, “Don’t worry, if you really cause trouble, we’ll face it together.”

Xu Le looked at him suspiciously, more suspicious than ever if the cold, serious President Lan, who instilled fear in his colleagues, was really the same Lan Qing in front of him?

“You did it on purpose to tease me!?” He couldn’t believe it.

Lan Qing looked into his bright black eyes, which were still misty from the kiss, making them very captivating.

He reached out and tugged Xu Le’s collar open a bit, revealing marks on his neck and ears.

“Aren’t you afraid others will notice this?”

Xu Le felt ticklish from Lan Qing’s touch, and it took him a moment to realize he was referring to the time he showed the shirt tag to Cao Xinyi.

“Oh, I just wanted to show jie the tag; she said my shirt looked nice and wanted to know the brand. Hehe, isn’t that a compliment to your taste?” Xu Le said happily.

Lan Qing pinched Xu Le’s smooth cheek, making him grimace from the pressure.

Upon closer inspection, Xu Le did look good in his clothes.

The same outfit on him looked cold and aloof, but on Xu Le, it exuded a lively energy, making it look more casual.

“Yes, you do look good in it.”

…..

That Saturday was the premiere of Xu Le’s favorite anime movie, and he had bought two tickets in the best viewing position well in advance.

This was their first time going to a movie together since they got together, and since buying the tickets on Wednesday, he had been eagerly looking forward to it.

“Tomorrow at ten nineteen in the morning. After the movie, we can go straight to lunch!”

Xu Le sat cross-legged on the floor, holding Fa Cai in his arms, and looked at Lan Qing.

Lan Qing, sitting on the sofa with gold-framed blue light glasses, was reading English emails on his tablet. He responded, “Okay, what do you want to eat? I’ll book the restaurant in advance.”

When it came to food, Xu Le became indecisive. He liked all good food and wasn’t picky, but he had trouble choosing. After thinking for a while, he decided to let Lan Qing decide, knowing his taste was even more discerning.

“You decide. I’m not picky, as long as it’s good!”

Lan Qing pondered, “Alright, I remember a private restaurant with decent dishes. You should like it.”

Xu Le lifted Fa Cai and kissed its round head, saying happily, “Great!”

On Saturday, Xu Le dressed in a casual style outfit, with a gray-green oversized shirt and black shorts, looking fresh, comfortable, sunny, and handsome.

He had a good figure, a good face, and a good sense of style, so anything in his wardrobe would look good on him.

However, his lively and casual style clashed with Lan Qing’s.

Lan Qing wore a shirt, suit, tie, and dress pants, looking like he could pose for a business magazine at any moment. However, this outfit wasn’t suitable for a movie date.

“What’s wrong? Is there a problem with my outfit?” Lan Qing frowned slightly, seeing Xu Le’s hesitant expression.

Xu Le nodded honestly, “You’re dressed too formally. You look more like you’re going to inspect a company asset than going to a movie.”

“This is already my most casual outfit.”

Xu Le: “?”

Xu Le thought for a moment, then stepped forward. Under Lan Qing’s gentle gaze, he gave a sly smile and reached for Lan Qing’s tie.

Lan Qing held his hand, his deep blue eyes flickering slightly: “We don’t have even an hour, don’t mess around.”

Xu Le: “?!”

His face turned red. “I was just going to adjust your outfit a bit, what were you thinking!”

“Okay, if you say so.” Lan Qing released his hand, a smile in his eyes filled with teasing and indulgence.

Xu Le glared at him in embarrassment and frustration, swiftly pulled out Lan Qing’s light gray tie, then unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, and casually wrinkled it a bit.

“Take off your suit jacket, and it’ll be fine.”

Lan Qing did as he was told, and Xu Le saw that the effect was immediate; at least he no longer looked like a boss on an inspection. However, he still felt something was missing.

“What else should I do?” Lan Qing found Xu Le’s troubled expression while circling around him extremely cute.

“Still missing something…”

Xu Le unbuttoned his shirt cuffs and rolled them up to his arms. Still feeling unsatisfied, he raised his hand and tousled Lan Qing’s meticulously styled hair. Then he said, “Don’t move, I’ll get some hairspray to set your hair.”

Since Lan Qing was tall, he had to slightly lower his head to cooperate with Xu Le’s actions.

Xu Le looked at his long, thick eyelashes, high nose bridge, and the cooperative stance, feeling a tickle in his heart, but he said, “Don’t move, I’m doing your hair.”

Xu Le’s hairstyling skills were actually average, but Lan Qing was handsome enough that even a little touch-up made him look stunning.

“All done! Haha, as expected of my boyfriend, so handsome!” Xu Le was very satisfied with his work.

Lan Qing, now styled differently, didn’t look like a completely different person, but at least his image had a relaxed and casual feel. With his hair styled by Xu Le, he had a more approachable aura compared to his usual stern demeanor.

The more Xu Le looked, the more he thought Lan Qing was incredibly handsome. He boldly gave him a big kiss and said with great enthusiasm, “Let’s go, boyfriend, I’ll treat you to a movie!”

The movie was very good. As a die-hard fan of the original manga, Xu Le was very excited and satisfied. After the screening, he was still eager to share his insights with Lan Qing.

Lan Qing listened intently, even analyzing deeper layers accurately. Xu Le thought he was amazing, frequently expressing his admiration for Lan Qing’s clear logic and strong thinking.

After talking for a long time, Xu Le finally felt thirsty. “I’m so thirsty, I want some milk tea.”

Lan Qing agreed readily. “Okay.”

There were many milk tea shops on the same floor as the cinema, and right across was one of Xu Le’s favorite brands, but it was crowded with young people. After placing their order, they had to queue up and wait.

For Lan Qing, queuing was the most wasteful use of time and energy, but he was willing to wait with Xu Le and considered it a pleasure.

Due to Lan Qing’s exceptional looks, he inevitably attracted some attention.

When they picked up the milk tea, the shop assistant was stunned upon seeing Lan Qing’s face and was about to speak to him in stuttering English. Fortunately, Xu Le stepped in just in time to ease the awkwardness.

“I’m with him, just give it to me, thank you,” he said with a smile.

The shop assistant handed over the milk tea. “Thank you for your patronage.”

Internally, they wondered about the relationship between the two handsome guys.

The private restaurant Lan Qing chose was quite remote, taking almost an hour to drive to, but fortunately, the traffic was light.

It was a very unique restaurant. From the outside, it looked like an ordinary traditional courtyard, but once inside, it was a whole different world.

There was a sizable ornamental lake with uniquely shaped rock formations and a tea pavilion surrounded by lush greenery, creating a strong ancient atmosphere.

Xu Le had never been to such a place and asked curiously, “Is this really a restaurant?”

“Yes, it’s just specially decorated. But it’s quiet and the food is good.”

Xu Le clicked his tongue. “How does this restaurant advertise? It’s so remote, and with so few customers, can it make a profit?”

He worked in new media, so naturally, he thought about customer sources. After all, the place was so secluded it didn’t seem like it had good business.

“Making money is one thing, but connections are priceless. This restaurant is actually in the business of connections, understand, little guy?”

The deep male voice had a unique condescending tone.

Xu Le was startled and turned to look behind him, seeing a pair of men.

The one who spoke had sharp, bright eyes that looked charming. His not-so-perfect features combined to form a very attractive face.

Beside him was a very tall young man with striking looks, exuding an even more aloof aura than Lan Qing.

Lan Qing frowned slightly and turned around. Upon seeing the cold jade-like young man, his deep blue eyes showed a hint of surprise, and he gave a barely perceptible nod.

The young man also acknowledged him with a glance.

Chen Wang, with his peach-blossom eyes narrowed slightly, noticed the exchange of glances and raised an eyebrow at the person next to him, Huai Jing. “An acquaintance?”

Huai Jing responded with a hum.

Xu Le, on the other hand, was puzzled. “What acquaintance? I don’t know you.”

Chen Wang’s peach-blossom eyes swirled with amusement as he looked at Xu Le. This kid was quite his early type, fresh and good-looking, with a kind of innocent charm because of his youth. He had a good figure, long legs, and probably a slim waist—a delicious piece of fresh meat.

Seeing Xu Le being so unabashedly scrutinized, Lan Qing’s face turned cold, and he silently but sharply glared over.

Chen Wang, with his naturally arrogant personality, didn’t care. After all, he was just looking, not doing anything, and he even generously complimented, “So young and cute, quite an adorable little guy.”

As soon as he said this, Lan Qing’s face turned even colder. Huai Jing, who was next to him, didn’t look any better, while Xu Le had a bewildered expression.

Author’s Note:

Huai Jing and Chen Wang are the main couple from my last book, haha. Not having read it won’t affect your reading experience here!
