The Withered Tree Always Welcomes Spring

The Withered Tree Always Welcomes Spring chapter 73

Chen Xian turned on the light and walked in without waiting for Shen Jixue. Shen Jixue hurriedly closed the door and chased after him.

“Chen Xian.” Shen Jixue’s tall figure blocked Chen Xian’s path. Now that he could see, he didn’t have to rely on intuition. Whether Chen Xian was angry was written all over his face. It was rare to see Chen Xian angry. “Are you mad?”

Shen Jixue’s expression and tone were both aggrieved as he tugged at Chen Xian’s sleeve. “Are you angry because Wu Bie and I didn’t consult you before hitting him?”

Shen Jixue was indeed smart. Even though Chen Xian hadn’t said anything, he could guess it. But if he could guess, why did he still do it?

“You know, and you still ask?” Chen Xian rarely used rhetorical questions. “Your uncle is indeed excessive, but if you and Wu Bie had hurt him, are you not afraid of causing trouble for yourselves? It’s not worth it for someone like him.”

Chen Xian was worried about him, worried that he was too reckless and didn’t know his limits.

Shen Jixue didn’t argue and followed Chen Xian’s lead, showing weakness. “I know, but he was after my money, and also yours.”

If Shen Jun hadn’t had that stack of money in his pocket, maybe he would have been detained for only a few days at most. With that money, the situation became much more serious.

“To raise money for my surgery, you borrowed from many people, so I got angry.”

Chen Xian had never mentioned money in front of Shen Jixue. He always felt that as long as people were okay, money could be earned again. He didn’t want to pressure Shen Jixue.

He sighed, “Xiao Shen, money is just a small matter. You don’t need to…”

“No matter whether this money is a big deal or a small matter to you, it’s a huge sum in my eyes. Even if I repay the money in the future, I can never repay your kindness in my lifetime.”

In the end, Shen Jixue did feel pressured, and Chen Xian’s expression softened. “Xiao Shen, since you’re with me, we’re together. There’s no need to differentiate between yours and mine.”

Chen Xian was like this. Even though he had suffered in his previous relationship, he still harbored good intentions towards people and would wholeheartedly invest in the next relationship, giving everything to the other person.

“It’s because I want to be with you that I want to return your money to you. Whether it’s ten years, twenty years, or a lifetime, I will find a way to repay you as soon as possible by finding a job.”

Only after Chen Xian’s money was repaid could he stand proudly in front of him. Chen Xian might not mind, but his sensitive and worthless pride cared. He wanted to take charge as soon as possible, so that in the future, Chen Xian could also rely on him when encountering problems.

Chen Xian pressed Shen Jixue’s forehead, “What are you thinking? Since your eyes are better now, you should think about going back to school. Your parents have worked hard to get you out of the mountains. Do you still want to work? You have plenty of time to work in your life, but not many opportunities to study.”

Shen Jixue stared with wide eyes, his pupils bright. His lips trembled, and he didn’t speak for a long time.

“Why? Don’t you want to?” Chen Xian pressed his fingers on Shen Jixue’s forehead.

Shen Jixue tilted his head back slightly, as if he had come back to his senses. “Really? Do I still have a chance to go to school?”

“Didn’t you say before that your teachers have reserved your spot? As long as you want, we’ll find someone to help.”

Shen Jixue blinked, staring at Chen Xian intently, “What can we do?”

“There are always more solutions than difficulties.” Chen Xian mocked himself, “I may not be as naive as you think. I understand the methods adults use to ask for help. Don’t worry about it.”

Shen Jixue understood, it would definitely cost money again.

Seeing Shen Jixue’s eyes dim, Chen Xian knew what he was thinking. “There is nothing in the world that can be done without spending money. Xiao Shen, as long as things can be done, it’s okay to spend money. Didn’t you say that you can earn it back in the future?”

Shen Jixue held the hand pressed against his forehead with both hands. He was far from there yet. He really had to study. Only by studying could he keep up with Chen Xian.

“Hey?” Chen Xian looked at the back of Shen Jixue’s hand. There was a bruise on the bone. He pressed it with his hand, “What happened here?”

It wasn’t very painful, but Shen Jixue reflexively hissed. Chen Xian immediately became nervous. “It’s nothing,” he tried to say, but swallowed the words before they left his mouth.

“Maybe I used too much force when dealing with Shen Jun just now,” Shen Jixue’s voice inexplicably softened, not retracting his hand, letting Chen Xian have a good look.

Chen Xian frowned, carefully examining the bruise. “You’ve suffered. Don’t do this again in the future, regardless of right or wrong, resorting to violence changes everything.”

Shen Jixue weakly responded with an “mm,” and Chen Xian glanced at him, noticing his eyes were red.

“What’s wrong?”

Shen Jixue didn’t say anything, just afraid Chen Xian would continue lecturing him. He rubbed his eyes, tears glistening as they flowed down his hand. “Maybe it’s just because I’ve regained my sight, and today has been too taxing. My eyes aren’t adjusting well.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Xian immediately wanted to take Shen Jixue to the hospital, but Shen Jixue declined, thinking going back would be more trouble than it’s worth.

“No need. It’s probably just the harsh lighting. I’ll rest for a bit, and it’ll be fine.” Shen Jixue dismissed the issue, not wanting to make a fuss.

With Shen Jixue’s insistence, they stayed at home. After they freshened up, Chen Xian promptly turned off all the lights in the house.

“How is it now?” Chen Xian asked with concern.

Shen Jixue said, “Much better now.”

Moonlight streamed through the window. Chen Xian got up to draw the curtains, plunging the room into darkness.

“Close your eyes, rest well,” Chen Xian suggested.

Shen Jixue smiled secretly, “If I close my eyes, I won’t be able to see anything.”

“Tell me what you need, and I’ll help,” Chen Xian accommodated him, treating him almost like a blind patient.

Shen Jixue hugged Chen Xian’s neck, leaning closer, quietly listening to Chen Xian’s heartbeat. In that moment, he seemed to hear Chen Xian’s heart race.

“I just had my bandages removed this morning, but it feels like I haven’t been able to see for ages. It’s like a nightmare, though not quite, because at least I met you.”

Chen Xian had many comforting words, but no matter how he arranged them, they felt pale and inadequate. He could only hug Shen Jixue close, gently patting his back.

“I feel like it’s been a long time since I’ve held you like this, though the time I spent in the hospital wasn’t that long.”

Perhaps the long separation from Chen Xian made each day seem like an eternity.

“Chen Xian,” Shen Jixue suddenly lifted his head from Chen Xian’s chest.

Chen Xian’s voice was tender enough to drown someone, “Hmm?”

“Kiss me. It’s always been me kissing you. Let me be kissed by you for once.”

Adapting to the darkness, Chen Xian could vaguely make out Shen Jixue’s silhouette. He traced Shen Jixue’s cheek with his finger, imagining the plaintive expression he must have had when saying those words.

“Why aren’t you speaking?”

Shen Jixue was a bit impatient. It was fine that Chen Xian was not affectionate before, but now that they were together, he still wouldn’t kiss him? Then what were they…

“Hmm?” Shen Jixue suddenly felt a dark shadow approaching quickly. The soft touch on his lips disappeared before he could react, and Chen Xian had already finished kissing him.

How could it happen so quickly? He hadn’t even reacted yet.

Shen Jixue was unwilling to accept this. He pounced directly, pressing his upper body onto Chen Xian, fiercely kissing his lips.

“Mmm…”

Their lips stuck closely together. Chen Xian’s muffled groan escaped through the gap in their lips, quickly taken advantage of by Shen Jixue. His tongue rudely explored, hooking onto Chen Xian’s tongue without letting go.

The sound of their passionate kissing was deafening. Shen Jixue relentlessly pressed against Chen Xian’s body. His weight was not light, and Chen Xian had to hold him and kiss him, leaving him breathless. Both of them were panting heavily by the time Shen Jixue finally let go.

“Am I too heavy?”

Chen Xian chuckled, “Do you think you’re still the same as when you first arrived? You’re making it hard for me to breathe.”

Shen Jixue helped Chen Xian rub his chest and touched his soft chest muscles. He immediately felt a bit stirred up.

“Chen Xian, you said earlier that I just need to tell you what to do, and you’ll help me, right?”

Chen Xian completely missed Shen Jixue’s cunning thoughts. “Hmm, what’s up? What do you need?”

As soon as he spoke, Chen Xian felt Shen Jixue leaning against his ear, his earlobe brushed by warm, moist breath. Shen Jixue’s low, husky voice sounded in his ear.

“Then touch me.”

The young body was particularly lively, with a temperature much higher than usual. Chen Xian felt like he was about to be burned.

Thump, thump, it was like his heart was about to jump out of his chest. Chen Xian felt a bit ashamed of himself, feeling like a young man in his early twenties experiencing his first love.

He suppressed his inner turmoil and lightly pinched Shen Jixue’s cheek, kissing it. He softly asked, “Where did you learn this?”

This kind of thing was instinctive, not learned.

“I haven’t learned.” Shen Jixue rubbed his cheek against the back of Chen Xian’s hand.

The back of his hand felt hot, like it was about to catch fire. Chen Xian asked again, “Then how do you know all this?”

“I don’t know.” Shen Jixue said matter-of-factly, “You’ve been married before, you know how, so teach me.”

Chen Xian was speechless, “How do you teach this kind of thing?”

“However you do it, just teach me.” Shen Jixue was eager to learn, and if Chen Xian taught him, he would learn even faster.

Chen Xian subconsciously exerted force with the hand holding Shen Jixue’s cheek. Shen Jixue’s voice now was lower than usual, huskier and stickier. Chen Xian thought, he really wanted to…

Chen Xian felt like he was becoming naughty. “Alright, watch closely.”
