The Whole World Wants Me To Get Divorced

The Whole World Wants Me To Get Divorced chapter 29

Kiss

After settling the messy account with the Zhuyan clan, Rong Xiao returned to Wen Yan’s side.

With a heavy closing of the wooden door, the outside clamor seemed to be shut out, creating a serene and gentle world within.

Even Yu Bu Wen was chased out, leaving only Rong Xiao and Wen Yan in the room.

Rong Xiao had just ruthlessly severed the foundation of the Zhuyan clan in the council chamber, appearing like a ruthless tyrant. Yet, now sitting by Wen Yan’s bedside, he subdued his imposing aura, changing into a clean plain robe. He lowered his eyes, appearing calm and gentle.

Wen Yan was still unconscious, peacefully sleeping in the bed, unaware of the turmoil that had occurred outside due to him.

Rong Xiao pinched Wen Yan’s slender wrist; only a red thread remained there. The glass bead Rong Xiao had given him was gone. If Wen Yan had broken that bead a bit earlier, he might not have been a step too late.

He needed to make something else for Wen Yan’s self-defense, preferably something colorful that would complement Wen Yan’s skin, Rong Xiao thought.

But as he caressed Wen Yan’s wrist, no matter how he thought about it, he couldn’t shake off the worry. He felt that it would be safer to make a bag and carry Wen Yan in it.

He had to admit he was afraid of losing Wen Yan.

Over the thousands of years, he had witnessed numerous brutal scenes and disasters with rivers of blood. Yet, none had been as heart-pounding as today.

Wen Yan had indeed suffered.

But among the demons in the Demon control Bureau, who hadn’t suffered? Even Yu Bu Wen had faced life-threatening situations.

However, only today, he lost his composure. Although he appeared calm and composed on the surface, his heart was in turmoil, as if a piece of his heart had been cut away.

If it weren’t for the demon laws of the Demon control Bureau stopping him, he might have taken the lives of all Zhuyan clan members on the spot, preventing them from reincarnating forever.

The hatred and anger in this were shocking even to himself.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt upset. He knew that his concern for Wen Yan had exceeded the boundaries he should maintain.

Far beyond the distance he should keep.

The trouble was, at this point, he knew he had crossed a line, but he couldn’t figure out what to do with Wen Yan.

Wen Yan slept until ten o’clock in the evening, and even the bird’s chirping gradually ceased before he slowly woke up.

As soon as he woke up, he felt a bit parched. Before opening his eyes, he mumbled, “Thirsty…”

Immediately, a pair of hands lifted him up, and a small teacup was brought to his lips. It contained sweet and warm tea, gently fed to him.

Wen Yan drank half the cup in one breath. His eyes were still closed, and he was sure it was the housekeeper who was being so considerate.

However, when he opened his eyes, he found Rong Xiao looking at him. He almost choked on the tea.

Rong Xiao placed the teacup on the cabinet, lifted him up, and patted his back as if soothing a child. He seemed skilled, as if comforting a child.

“Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?” Rong Xiao asked him. “The physician said you shouldn’t feel pain after waking up, though you might still be a bit weak. Rest for a while, and you’ll be fine. If there’s any pain, be sure to let me know.”

Wen Yan, lying in Rong Xiao’s arms, suspected that he had crossed into a parallel world in his sleep. Otherwise, how could Rong Xiao be so gentle, even more so than the housekeeper?

But when he moved his body, he confirmed that he didn’t feel any pain anywhere.

“I feel fine, except I can’t run a kilometer immediately. Everything else is okay,” he said.

“That’s good.” Rong Xiao was relieved.

Wen Yan remembered another matter and grabbed Rong Xiao’s hand, asking anxiously, “What about Zhu Yun and the others? Have you arrested them? Let me tell you, most of them are not good guys. They were even planning to harm you…”

“It’s already taken care of,” Rong Xiao pursed his lips, subconsciously avoiding exposing his ruthless side to Wen Yan, and played it down, “I personally handled the leader, and the others were handed over to the Demon control Bureau. Don’t worry; they won’t be lightly sentenced. Shadow Mountain has also expelled them.”

After hearing the result, Wen Yan felt relieved.

He was considering whether he should personally visit the prison to taunt these bastards. But then he heard Rong Xiao softly say something.

“I’m sorry.”

Wen Yan’s mind was momentarily confused, thinking he had misheard.

He looked at Rong Xiao with a bewildered expression, “Why are you apologizing?”

Rong Xiao’s expression was calm, but the guilt and apprehension in his heart were known only to himself.

“Your engagement with me was meant to ensure your safety. However, I let you be kidnapped under my nose, and you almost lost your life. It’s my fault.”

Wen Yan only then reacted, realizing that Rong Xiao was taking the blame for the kidnapping on himself.

He scratched his head, looking puzzled.

He honestly spoke his thoughts, “But my injuries weren’t caused by you. The blame has a head, and the debt has a master. We need to find Zhu Yun to hold him responsible.”

He smiled at Rong Xiao, revealing his cute tiger teeth and dimples. “Moreover, you came to rescue me. If it weren’t for you, I might have lost my life. So, you are a hero. Besides, if it weren’t for our engagement, I would have been kidnapped who knows how many times already, and I wouldn’t have had to wait until today. Clearly, I took advantage of the situation.”

He spoke sincerely. His parents had taught him not to take advantage of others since childhood. However, this engagement with Rong Xiao had been uneven from the beginning, and he had gained tremendous benefits without spending a penny.

One shouldn’t be too greedy; if you’ve gained an advantage, you shouldn’t act spoiled.

But Rong Xiao was distracted by his smile.

He looked at Wen Yan’s smiling eyes, lips seemingly pale due to weakness, yet he still smiled foolishly, appearing both obedient and gentle.

Unable to resist, Rong Xiao reached out and pulled Wen Yan back into his embrace.

Wen Yan’s body was slender but just right to fill the emptiness in his arms.

“At times like this, just act spoiled and say you’re in pain. You don’t have to be so strong” he whispered.

Normally, Wen Yan would make a fuss even if he scalded himself with hot water. Now, having almost lost his life, he suddenly acted strong.

Utterly foolish.

Wen Yan, being held by Rong Xiao, had a muffled voice. He began to reason with Rong Xiao, “But I really don’t feel any pain…”

However, he also understood that the old demon probably felt guilty because he rarely experienced such setbacks due to his strong abilities.

After all, with great power comes great responsibility.

Thinking of this, Wen Yan began to feel a bit sorry for Rong Xiao.

He patted Rong Xiao’s shoulder. He started babbling again, “If you really feel sorry, you can offer yourself to me. Marrying me is negotiable. At the very least, if you kiss me, we can put this behind us. I’m easy to talk to about this…”

Wen Yan didn’t really expect Rong Xiao to take him seriously. He just wanted to take advantage of the situation and get a few kisses.

But Rong Xiao let him go, creating a gap of about a foot between them. With his emerald-green eyes, he looked directly at Wen Yan, as if trying to see into his heart.

Wen Yan felt a bit uneasy being stared at like that, and his babbling mouth immediately faltered. “If you don’t want to marry or kiss me, that’s fine….”

He hadn’t finished speaking when Rong Xiao’s fingertips gently pinched his chin.

Rong Xiao’s fingertips were always a bit cool, like the light autumn rain falling outside the window. Then came a pair of equally cool, thin lips that pressed against Wen Yan’s chattering mouth.

Wen Yan suddenly found himself at a loss for words. It was like a cat whose fate was being controlled, unable to move.

Rong Xiao kissed him, noses rubbing against each other affectionately. Initially, their lips merely touched lightly, maintaining a sense of restraint, seemingly ready to separate at any moment—clean and without any entanglement.

But soon, Rong Xiao’s tongue invaded Wen Yan’s lips, forcing its way through the gap in his teeth. Wen Yan’s lips were warm, soft, and carried a hint of bitter medicine, but Rong Xiao didn’t mind. He only knew he wanted to pull out Wen Yan’s tender tongue and savor it like candy.

His hand gripped Wen Yan’s waist. The young man’s slender waist was hidden beneath the light blue clothing, almost small enough to fit in one hand.

A thin belt was fastened around Wen Yan’s waist, but Rong Xiao lightly tugged it, and it fell off.

As the kiss deepened, Rong Xiao’s tongue explored Wen Yan’s mouth, overrunning the territory and sweeping past his teeth, sucking on his lip beads.

Ambiguous sounds that would make anyone blush echoed in the room, and even the temperature seemed to rise.

Wen Yan was breathless from the kiss, and his limbs felt weak. An eighteen-year-old human virgin was indeed no match for a thousands-of-years-old old demon. When he blabbered, he was the most ruthless, but now, he was kissed into submission. His eyes became moist, and he looked even more tempting.

After who knows how long, Rong Xiao finally let go of him.

Rong Xiao’s expression remained calm, but Wen Yan’s face was so red that it seemed about to drip blood. The quilt he had been holding was crumpled beyond recognition.

“You rascal…” Wen Yan stammered.

Rong Xiao cast a glance at him. “Didn’t you want me to kiss you?”

That was true.

Wen Yan couldn’t refute that, but he still felt uncomfortable.

He thought, the kisses of an innocent little boy are nothing like your provocative ones.

Yet, as he thought about it, he blushed and his heart raced as he stared at Rong Xiao’s lips, which were thin and sharp but now gentle and soft in kissing.

The autumn rain outside the window hadn’t stopped yet. The steady sound of rain in the courtyard was continuous. Raindrops fell on maple leaves, making a crisp and clear sound at this moment. There were no other sounds in the room, only the slow burning of the osmanthus incense in the censer.

Perhaps Wen Yan’s thoughts were all written on his face. Rong Xiao looked at him for a moment, then lightly laughed, pulled him back into his arms, and gave him a second kiss.

It perfectly matched the standard of an innocent little boy, inexperienced and proper. Their lips only touched lightly, rubbing gently and affectionately.

Yet, it held a different kind of tenderness.
