Strawberry Pop Pop Pop chapter 25
It was already eight in the morning when Gu Nuan woke up.
His single-person dorm room wasn’t spacious, but his belongings could easily fill the space. Since Han Yang had moved out, Gu Nuan didn’t plan on going back home for the time being. Han Yang’s current location was closer to school, and there was a direct bus route that took only 20 minutes without traffic.
Gu Nuan washed his face in front of the mirror and accidentally knocked over his backpack hanging nearby. A business card slipped out.
It was Xia Fei’s business card. Gu Nuan picked it up, recalling the awkward encounter from before.
Four days ago, Han Yang’s audition had gone very smoothly, and anyone could tell that Director Xia Zhouyu was very satisfied. Xia Zhouyu even asked Han Yang to perform a segment where he explained his interpretation of the role.
By the time Han Yang finished, it was already 9 PM. Since there were more auditions to be conducted, Han Yang and Gu Nuan didn’t want to disturb Xia Fei.
Xia Fei was quite enthusiastic and escorted them to the elevator entrance. “With the expression my dad had, it’s a sure thing,” he said. “Just wait for the notification; trust me.”
“Thank you so much, Xia Ge,” Han Yang said in a hushed tone, still somewhat nervous.
Gu Nuan, following closely, also chimed in, “Thank you, Xia Ge.”
“Why be so polite with me?” Xia Fei rubbed his nose, feeling a hint of coolness in the night air. “Han Yang, you should take Xiao Nuan back; it’s quite late.” He had a brief chat with Gu Nuan earlier and found out that there was a curfew for him at night.
Upon hearing the change in Xia Fei’s address to Gu Nuan, Han Yang was momentarily stunned but nodded. “Then, we’ll head back now.”
The elevator arrived just in time.
Gu Nuan stepped in first, and Han Yang thanked Xia Fei once again.
Once the elevator doors closed, Gu Nuan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, “Brother, I was so nervous just now.”
Han Yang pressed the button for the first floor and smiled at him. “I was nervous too.” He looked at the descending floor numbers and asked, “Did you chat with Xia Ge a lot?”
“I noticed that he called you ‘Xiao Nuan’.”
However, Han Yang didn’t say this out loud. He maintained a calm tone and kept the smile that he reserved only for Gu Nuan. Han Yang often found himself unable to completely open up, even when he was facing Gu Nuan.
Caught up in the excitement of Han Yang’s smile, Gu Nuan didn’t notice much else. He moved closer to Han Yang and said, “He talked to me a bit about your time abroad. It was quite interesting.”
Han Yang didn’t say much.
Gu Nuan sensed Han Yang’s gloominess and explained, “I was afraid of saying something wrong and causing trouble for you, so I kept quiet.”
Han Yang quickly replied, “That’s not what I meant.”
Gu Nuan didn’t care about his intentions. At this moment, he just wanted to talk to Han Yang properly. “Brother, it seemed like you really transformed into a different person during the audition. You acted so well; even someone like me could tell it was great.” Gu Nuan thought that Han Yang must be blessed with natural talent for acting.
He didn’t know much about the entertainment industry, but after witnessing this small audition, Gu Nuan was utterly amazed.
Once they exited the elevator, Gu Nuan curiously asked while bouncing forward, “If you act in this movie, does that mean you’ve officially debuted?”
“I guess so.”
Gu Nuan took a couple of playful steps and looked in high spirits. “When this movie comes out, I’ll treat all our classmates to watch it! Even if you don’t act in this one, won’t there be other opportunities? There will definitely be a movie for you. Besides, how could it be a waste of money to watch a movie you’re in? How about I treat the whole department? I’ve saved some money for this. And besides, I heard that fans usually take photos of stars at the airport. I can do that too, using the camera you bought for me. I’ve already looked into it; Su Li said that being a fan is best if you can also take pictures, edit them, and make videos. I’m sure I can learn all that! And…”
Listening to Gu Nuan, who was non-stop, Han Yang was about to speak, but suddenly, an awkward cough came from behind them.
Both of them turned around to see Xia Fei, who had followed them downstairs.
He held a mobile phone in his hand and coughed twice. Then he handed it to Han Yang. “I think this is your phone? You left it in the audition room.”
Gu Nuan swallowed all the words he hadn’t finished saying, widened his eyes, and bit his lower lip.
Xia Fei glanced at Gu Nuan, chuckled dryly, and said, “Quite lively, isn’t he? I’ve changed my mind; instead of a ‘ beautiful person,’ I’ll call him a ‘chatty handsome youth’ now.”
…
Now, looking back on it, Gu Nuan stood still for a second before feeling like he wanted to bury himself in the ground.
But when he lowered his head, there was no soil, only the rushing water.
After finishing his morning routine, Gu Nuan slung his backpack over his shoulders and went to the cafeteria to buy breakfast. On his way, he ran into many classmates from his department who had woken up early for the 8:30 am class, and most of them had already finished their breakfast.
Gu Nuan, on the other hand, was running late. He hurriedly bought a steamed bun, ate while walking, and barely paid attention to what he was eating. He also grabbed a bottle of water from the convenience store.
That day’s classroom for their class wasn’t very large; it was a required course for their department.
When Gu Nuan entered, the seats were mostly filled. He checked the time; it was 8:20 am, and the professor hadn’t arrived yet. Gu Nuan noticed that there was an empty seat, and several students sitting nearby were engrossed in their phones.
One of them saw Gu Nuan arrive and gave him a few extra glances.
Gu Nuan took the initiative to greet, “Good morning.”
The other students seemed surprised that he greeted them and hesitated for a moment before responding, “Morning, there’s a seat here.”
Gu Nuan quickly took the seat and took out his medicine from his bag before the class started.
The beta student next to him asked, “Suppressants?”
To avoid any trouble, Gu Nuan nodded without specifying the type of medication he was taking.
The classmate pushed up his glasses and spoke in a friendly manner, “Suppressants can be quite inconvenient at times, especially for omegas like you. You have to carry them around all the time.”
Gu Nuan didn’t find it inconvenient at all. He replied, “I’ve gotten used to it.”
The classmate, seeing that Gu Nuan wasn’t aloof, continued to chat with him. During their conversation, he mentioned Gu Nuan’s family’s company. “Do you know about the Gu Group? The suppressants you all take now are developed by them. A long time ago, suppressants used to be administered by injections, not as convenient as the pills today.”
“I know a little,” Gu Nuan replied, recalling his knowledge of the company’s history from his grandfather, who was abroad. Gu Nuan used to spend his summers there, and his grandfather would tell him about the company’s development.
At that time, Gu Nuan could fall asleep smoothly in Han Yang’s arms after hearing less than ten sentences.
The classmate quickly added, “My parents said that to work at Gu Group, you’d need to at least graduate from C University.”
“Then, you’re halfway there already. Congratulations!” Gu Nuan gave him a thumbs-up, giving face to the classmate who clearly admired his family’s company.
The classmate hummed in satisfaction, appreciating Gu Nuan’s “congratulations.” “You too.”
Another student from the front row, observing their lively conversation, couldn’t help but join in, saying, “Gu Nuan, we used to think you didn’t talk much. We didn’t dare to greet you before.”
“How could that be? I actually like talking,” Gu Nuan smiled, transforming from an iceberg into a ray of sunshine.
After all, who wouldn’t want to be friends with someone good-looking?
“Great, then how about having lunch together later?”
“I have something to do in the afternoon, maybe next time,” Gu Nuan replied, thinking that this was an opportunity to get to know everyone better. But as the conversation progressed, he naturally shifted the topic back to Han Yang. “When my brother starts acting in movies, I’ll treat you all to watch.”
“Your brother is an actor? What’s his name?”
“He’s just starting his career, so you probably don’t know him,” Gu Nuan said. While waiting for the professor to arrive, he pulled out a spare magazine from his bag and handed it to the student in front of him. “But my brother has already worked as a model in a magazine. Would you like to see?”
The classmates exclaimed, “Sure!”
Gu Nuan skillfully flipped to the page and said, “It’s this one. Handsome, right?”
Call him Han Yang.
Please show him your support.
