Pheromone Deficiency Syndrome chapter 7
Kiss
Gu Jinyi took a bath and went to Xie Huaizhou’s room.
Xie Huaizhou’s room had the same layout as his, but the atmosphere was completely different, all in a suppressive deep gray. The furniture and decorations were all in cool tones, and everything was orderly. It was not difficult to imagine what kind of abstinent and rigorous person lived here.
Gu Jinyi hesitated by the bed for a while, until Xie Huaizhou turned his head to look at him. He gritted his teeth and lifted the quilt to lie down.
Xie Huaizhou’s quilt was also deep black, and Gu Jinyi lay inside like a fine jade statue, warm light shining upon him, making his skin appear translucent and radiant. With his freshly washed long hair and soft, snug-fitting pajamas, he looked as tempting as a fresh strawberry.
Seeing that Xie Huaizhou was still working, Gu Jinyi lay obediently in the quilt, not moving at all, behaving excessively well.
Xie Huaizhou glanced at him from the corner of his eye, silently increasing the speed of his work.
Ten minutes later, he turned off the light.
With the dimming of the light’s brightness, the room seemed even darker.
Xie Huaizhou also got into the quilt, but he didn’t sleep. Instead, he looked at Gu Jinyi as if appraising a precious porcelain.
Two people who were not yet familiar with each other faced each other, feeling a bit awkward. Even though they knew it was just a transaction, for the treatment of Xie Huaizhou’s pheromone deficiency, having an alpha and omega lying on the same bed, with their breaths intertwining, felt too ambiguous no matter how one thought about it.
Gu Jinyi couldn’t help but swallow, wanting to say something to ease the awkwardness, but he couldn’t think of anything to say.
Xie Huaizhou’s gaze and pheromones were too aggressive. Although he hadn’t done anything, Gu Jinyi felt as if the sea breeze-like pheromones were infiltrating into his body, making him feel light-headed, as if he were a small boat floating in the sea.
Just as he was feeling dazed, after Xie Huaizhou had looked at him for a long time, he gently touched Gu Jinyi’s cheek with one hand.
Xie Huaizhou’s hand was cold, but his movements were gentle, like an affectionate lover.
He asked Gu Jinyi, “Have you ever kissed an alpha before?”
This question immediately brought Gu Jinyi back to his senses.
He looked into Xie Huaizhou’s eyes. Xie Huaizhou’s eyes were straightforward, without any hint of frivolity or mockery, as if he were just making a routine inquiry.
Gu Jinyi didn’t want to lie.
He softly murmured, “Mm,” without elaborating further.
“Is that so?” Xie Huaizhou said inexplicably, his eyes darkening slightly. He caught a strand of Gu Jinyi’s hair by his ear, seemingly lost in thought.
“Have you dated alphas before?” he asked again after a moment, “Before you married Chu Miyun?”
Gu Jinyi didn’t understand why Xie Huaizhou was interested in this.
“I wouldn’t say we dated,” he casually glossed over the matter, then asked Xie Huaizhou, “Mr. Xie, if I’ve dated alphas before, will it affect my treatment with you?”
“No,” Xie Huaizhou said firmly.
But just a second later, he asked Gu Jinyi, “Can I kiss you now?”
Gu Jinyi was stunned, and after a moment, he realized that this was one of their treatment tasks. The questions Xie Huaizhou had asked him just now were probably to pave the way for this, fearing that he couldn’t accept the kiss of a strange alpha.
He lowered his eyes, and his eyelashes trembled slightly.
“Yes.”
Despite receiving this consent, Xie Huaizhou’s eyes didn’t become any happier.
Uncontrollably, he thought, if he hadn’t come to Gu Jinyi’s side, if someone else had taken advantage of the situation like him, would the one lying next to Gu Jinyi today be someone else? And would Gu Jinyi obediently say “yes” like this?
He didn’t want to think about it anymore.
He hugged Gu Jinyi and pressed his lips against Gu Jinyi’s.
At first, it was just a restrained and courteous kiss, like a conservative gentleman kissing his beloved prince.
Not wanting to startle him, he simply conveyed love and longing silently.
But soon, this kiss took a different turn as he slipped his tongue into Gu Jinyi’s mouth, holding onto his lips without letting go. His hand pressed against the back of Gu Jinyi’s neck, the place where the gland was located, that piece of skin was no different, but any alpha could clearly sense the charm it emitted.
Gu Jinyi was kissed until he felt dizzy, letting out a faint whimper from his throat, his hand on Xie Huaizhou’s shoulder hanging weakly.
Highly matched pheromones didn’t just affect one side.
The pheromones of red tea and sea breeze intertwined.
Although the tone of this bedroom was so cold, the temperature inside seemed to be rising little by little.
After some time passed, Xie Huaizhou let go of Gu Jinyi.
Gu Jinyi breathed heavily absentmindedly.
He regretted agreeing to let Xie Huaizhou kiss him, even though he knew he didn’t have the right to refuse.
Xie Huaizhou propped himself up with his arm and looked at him, evaluating emotionlessly, “Your kissing skills are terrible.”
Gu Jinyi blushed again.
He didn’t know whether to apologize, but it had been many years since he had kissed anyone.
Moreover, not many people could withstand Xie Huaizhou’s approach.
Fortunately, Xie Huaizhou didn’t dwell on the issue and simply pressed his thumb lightly against Gu Jinyi’s lower lip.
“Remember to breathe next time,” he said.
Gu Jinyi reluctantly “uh-huh”ed.
He wasn’t sure if his expression pleased Xie Huaizhou, but Xie Huaizhou smiled slightly, softening his stern face.
He lay back on his own side of the bed, looking like he was ready to sleep.
Gu Jinyi stared at the ceiling for a while before closing his eyes.
But he didn’t fall asleep. Soon, there was a faint rumble in the room, coming from his stomach.
Gu Jinyi’s eyes snapped open again, feeling embarrassed for what seemed like the umpteenth time today.
Because he had thought of coming to Xie Huaizhou’s room today, he had been absent-minded during dinner and hadn’t eaten much, and now his stomach was empty.
He wasn’t sure if Xie Huaizhou had heard it, and thought about pretending it didn’t happen.
But soon Xie Huaizhou shattered his illusion.
“Are you hungry?” Xie Huaizhou’s tone was still flat, “You barely touched your dinner earlier.”
Gu Jinyi clutched the blanket, unsure how to answer.
His food, clothing, shelter, and transportation were all provided by the Xie family. Xie Huaizhou was now his sort of direct superior, and if he said he hadn’t eaten well, it would seem like he was accusing Xie Huaizhou of mistreating his employees.
“My stomach doesn’t feel too good today…” he weakly made up an excuse.
Xie Huaizhou probably didn’t believe him, scoffing lightly.
Then he saw Xie Huaizhou sit up from the bed and even lifted the blanket on his side.
“Get up,” Xie Huaizhou said.
Gu Jinyi followed Xie Huaizhou, puzzled, watching as he pressed something on the wall, and the whole wall silently slid open, revealing a clean and bright kitchen behind.
Gu Jinyi: “……”
He looked at Xie Huaizhou with a new perspective. It wasn’t a big deal to have a small kitchen in the bedroom, especially since there was enough space.
But Xie Huaizhou didn’t look like the kind of person who would do this.
What surprised him even more was what happened next.
Xie Huaizhou led him in, skillfully lit the fire, fried a piece of pancake, and handed it to him, sparingly saying, “Late-night snack.”
The whole set of actions flowed smoothly.
Although kitchen appliances were very convenient now, Xie Huaizhou’s actions showed that he really knew how to cook.
And the good-looking pancake was drizzled with cream, with two cut strawberries placed beside it, completely fit to be displayed in a dessert cabinet at a restaurant.
Seeing Gu Jinyi hesitating, Xie Huaizhou raised an eyebrow and asked him, “Don’t like pancakes?”
Gu Jinyi came back to his senses, “No, I like them very much.”
He quickly took a fork and cut a piece to put in his mouth, it tasted good, even the cream was his favorite type.
He remembered the video he watched on the spacecraft, when Xie Huaizhou was asked what kind of partner he liked, he said he had no requirements, but he hoped the other person would like his pancakes.
He couldn’t help but glance at Xie Huaizhou.
Xie Huaizhou was also staring at him with a blank expression, asking, “Is it delicious?”
“Delicious,” Gu Jinyi praised sincerely.
He originally thought the pancake just looked good, but he didn’t expect it to taste great too.
Xie Huaizhou didn’t say anything else. While Gu Jinyi was eating, he casually browsed through some information on his Ipad.
After a while, he heard Gu Jinyi whisper softly, “Mr. Xie, you’re a bit different from what I expected.”
He asked back, “How so?”
Gu Jinyi thought for a moment as he bit his fork.
Actually, when he first saw Xie Huaizhou on G6 Star, he was a bit afraid, afraid of Xie Huaizhou’s coldness and aloofness, afraid of his superiority.
But in the past few days, he found Xie Huaizhou unexpectedly easy to talk to. Although he still didn’t smile often, he occasionally showed gentleness.
He said seriously, “I used to think you, Mr. Xie, were very serious and aloof.”
“And now?” Xie Huaizhou seemed a bit interested in his words.
“Now you’re someone who can bake pancakes and is very gentle,” Gu Jinyi smiled.
Xie Huaizhou didn’t refute, but his eyes seemed a bit strange.
He never imagined that he would be associated with the word “gentle” in his lifetime.
The omega opposite him probably didn’t know that his gentleness and thoughtfulness were limited edition, only open to specific people.
.
After finishing the midnight snack, Gu Jinyi washed up again and lay back down next to Xie Huaizhou.
Xie Huaizhou fell asleep shortly after, but Gu Jinyi couldn’t sleep for a long time.
He wondered if it had been too long since he had interacted with an alpha, as the scent of pheromones in the room was too strong for him to breathe.
Xie Huaizhou was far friendlier than he had imagined, an exceptionally good employer.
But there was only one thing that wasn’t good—the pheromones smelled like sea breeze.
He deeply resisted this kind of pheromone.
Just now, when Xie Huaizhou asked if he had been with an alpha, he evasively avoided answering.
Because the answer was yes.
Before marrying Chu Miyun, when he was still naive and innocent at the age of twenty, in a sanatorium on an unnamed star, he loved an alpha whose pheromone smelled like sea breeze.
That person was far from handsome and powerful like Xie Huaizhou. His pheromone was very weak, so much so that others mistook him for a beta.
That person’s personality was also very cold, and those who had seen him all said that this guy had a bad temper. But he would hold Gu Jinyi when he was sick, find good materials to make weapons for him, and promise to take him away from the sanatorium, settle on a planet with a mild climate, and live as an ordinary loving couple.
He was everything twenty-year-old Gu Jinyi had ever wanted regarding a partner.
But he was also the nightmare Gu Jinyi dared not touch in his later life.
Gu Jinyi closed his eyes, no longer recalling the profile of that person when he left.
If there was any progress for him at the age of twenty-six, it was probably that he wouldn’t humbly hope for that person to come back.
That person should have married someone else long ago, holding someone else’s hand and making vows.
He might never know that the omega who kissed him among the wind chimes back then had become someone else’s partner twice.
