Last Love

Last Love chapter 60

The “Last Love” team was officially established, and the office location was set at Sega. Therefore, the regular members were naturally Wen Ke and Han Jiangque.

Xu Jiale was taking a temporary break, so he had some free time, making it convenient to focus on adjusting the questionnaire with Wen Ke.

Fu Xiaoyu, on the other hand, seemed much busier, and often everyone had to accommodate him, sometimes even holding meetings together late at night.

Wen Ke, being naturally mild-tempered, didn’t mind cooperating with Fu Xiaoyu’s schedule.

The first time he saw the schedule on Fu Xiaoyu’s iPad, he couldn’t help but be shocked. Every day on the calendar was filled, and what’s more, each entry was marked in different colors.

“Why are there so many colors?”

Wen Ke couldn’t help but be curious.

“Red is the most urgent, blue is for business meetings, green is for team meetings, yellow is for necessary social engagements, and now I’ve added orange, which is the time for the Love Love project.”

Fu Xiaoyu looked at the latest proposal adjustments on Wen Ke’s iPad with full concentration, not lifting his head as he answered.

Wen Ke couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

Sometimes, he felt that Fu Xiaoyu was like a precisely designed machine, operating with the utmost calm efficiency, tirelessly. In contrast, Xu Jiale, who was standing nearby, expressed his thoughts slowly, “It looks like there’s absolutely no time for leisure and entertainment.”

Only then did Fu Xiaoyu lift his head, and he exchanged a glance with Xu Jiale. He then calmly said, “Time is limited, so it’s naturally used for more important matters.”

“By the way, here—”

Without any nonsense, he directly marked the parts he thought were problematic in red and immediately showed them to Xu Jiale. “This needs to be changed too, it’s too complicated.”

“Change it again?” Xu Jiale sat up straight, and there was a hint of suppressed displeasure in his tone.

“Yes.” Fu Xiaoyu’s tone was decisive.

Xu Jiale clicked his tongue and lit a cigarette, walking to the window to take a puff, remaining silent for a long time.

“I’ll take a look first.” Wen Ke quickly spoke up, “After I finish reviewing, I’ll discuss with Xu Jiale on how to make the changes.”

Perhaps due to his experience studying abroad and years of working in the professional field, Fu Xiaoyu, despite being an Omega, had a work style even more assertive than an average Alpha. He seemed accustomed to advancing the work process according to his own intentions with such an attitude. However, Xu Jiale, fundamentally an Alpha who strongly opposed assertive Omegas, especially considering that Fu Xiaoyu’s suggestions on compressing and adjusting the questionnaire were purely for business considerations, once again offended his professionalism.

So, even though there were only a few brief meetings, Xu Jiale and Fu Xiaoyu had already had several disputes. It was through Wen Ke’s mediation that everything appeared calm.

Nevertheless, Fu Xiaoyu’s work efficiency and capabilities were beyond reproach. With his inclusion, the progress of the workgroup seemed to be riding on a fully fueled tank. Even the usually lazy Xu Jiale sometimes seemed to work a bit harder in order to compete with Fu Xiaoyu.

As Wen Ke examined the sections marked in red by Fu Xiaoyu, he took over his phone, which was placed aside, intending to adjust his own calendar according to Fu Xiaoyu’s work style. Accidentally, he opened the memo app.

Roughly scanning a few lines, he suddenly realized this wasn’t his phone but Han Jiangque’s. It might seem a bit childish, but as soon as they got together, Han Jiangque immediately replaced Wen Ke’s old iPhone 6+ with the latest model, even using the same black mechanical-style phone case.

The fact that they used the same phone made Wen Ke even wonder if, had they started dating ten years ago, they might have been the kind of couple sticking numerous photo stickers on the back of their phones.

He chuckled at the thought and was about to put the phone down when he suddenly had a vague feeling that he might have seen something in Han Jiangque’s memo. Unable to resist, he lowered his head and swiped up and down once again.

Among the numerous names, numbers, and places in Han Jiangque’s memo, most of which he didn’t recognize, there were several lines of numbers that seemed like dates, appearing every few days.

18;

10.17;

6.12;

These few numbers interspersed among other scattered notes seemed somewhat out of place.

They repeatedly appeared, as if…

As if the owner of the memo, every few days, would force himself to remember these numbers like having a compulsion and then repeatedly jot them down.

Wen Ke, looking at these numbers, felt a sense of familiarity in his heart. With a sudden jolt, he suddenly remembered—

10.17.

October 17.

That was his birthday.

But the other two strings of numbers, he couldn’t figure out what they meant.

After Fu Xiaoyu left, Wen Ke went to the balcony and stood side by side with Xu Jiale, who was still smoking with a cold face.

“Damn it,” Xu Jiale cursed softly.

He looked down, exhaling smoke rings gently. However, he couldn’t help but laugh shortly after, shaking his head as he continued, “Getting angry over such matters is truly unreasonable. But every time I clash with him, I can’t help but feel annoyed. You tell me, how can there be an Omega like that?”

Wen Ke asked seriously, “What do you mean?”

“…” Xu Jiale thought for a moment, then cautiously said, “If I speak the truth, it might sound biased, and it might even be a bit politically incorrect, but that’s genuinely what I think—do you understand?”

Wen Ke blinked and continued to smile, saying, “So, what do you mean? Are you bothered because Fu Xiaoyu is undoubtedly the type that can compete with Alphas in the workplace, not giving an inch?”

“Fine.” Xu Jiale sighed helplessly, then shrugged in a very Western manner. “I know, you don’t agree with my opinion. But I do have biases. I just don’t like that kind of Omega.”

Wen Ke smiled gently and didn’t say anything more.

When people understand the world, it seems there are always many limitations.

Some are due to vision and knowledge, like those who haven’t read books not understanding the latest technology. Some are due to class and status, like a wealthy young master not understanding the shrewdness and calculations involved in splitting a dollar into three parts.

Only a very small, rare group of people can transcend their own life experiences to understand and care for others.

In this regard, Wen Ke always felt that Xu Jiale had done very well.

Xu Jiale had wealth, yet he cared for ordinary people like Jin Chu to an extreme degree. Moreover, he was the kind of Alpha who could think to the extent of researching AO relationships, making him one of the most open-minded Alphas in the world.

However, even with all these qualities, Xu Jiale still had his limitations—

He was so intelligent, intelligent enough to quickly recognize his own bias. Yet, he still insisted on that bias.

As a friend, perhaps the smartest thing to do was to say nothing at all.

Xu Jiale didn’t continue, seemingly recalling distant memories. He looked at the quiet night, extinguished his cigarette on the railing, and then tossed it into the trash.

“Oh right, Wen Ke,” he suddenly said as if remembering something, “isn’t your heat cycle approaching? I see you haven’t let Han Jiangque mark you yet. Do you plan to keep going like this?”

Wen Ke fell silent for a moment.

Perhaps because Xu Jiale mentioned the heat cycle, it suddenly clicked in his mind—

18 was also a date.

Every 18th of the month was his heat cycle.

This was why, even after ten years, Han Jiangque could still accurately remember his heat cycle.

This should have been a very touching thing.

But at that moment, Wen Ke instinctively felt an intense sadness welling up from the depths of his heart.

Perhaps, the emotions flowed too quickly, or maybe his life was too chaotic, filled with career issues and the possibility of pregnancy, so he didn’t carefully think about it.

So at that moment, he couldn’t understand this emotion.

He stood there, unintentionally lost in thought for a moment—

Actually, most people wouldn’t do this.

The way of keeping notes was too peculiar.

Those were just a few simple dates, even someone with a terrible memory should remember them after repeating a few times. And even if they genuinely couldn’t remember, writing them down once should be sufficient. After all, it was a phone, not an old, disposable notebook. As long as you wanted to check, you could always drag the memo to the top and see it.

But Han Jiangque wasn’t like that; his way of keeping notes was like this:

18;

10.17;

6.12;

Xu XX 1378245672

Yin Lanxuan Room 8

18;

10.17;

6.12;

Bank Affairs 4488992

Contact Johnson

18;

10.17;

6.12;

Those dates, like a never-ending nightmare.

To the extent that as his life continued, he still had to open the memo every few days, once again typing out these dates, each one, a strong, unrelenting, almost neurotic obsession.

What kind of emotions did Han Jiangque have as he repeatedly recorded these dates in the memo?
