Last Love

Last Love chapter 45

The third round ended with victory, but the fourth round saw another defeat.

It was evident to everyone that Han Jiangque, after enduring an unprecedented tough battle, was gradually losing ground, and his stamina seemed to be slipping away.

In the fifth round, he fought back with determination, but even Wen Ke could see his arms, clad in boxing gloves, trembling slightly due to exhaustion.

By the sixth round, as the bell rang, Han Jiangque was unexpectedly struck on the left side of his face by a sudden straight punch from the Bear King. At the moment of contact between the boxing glove and his face, one could almost see the trembling of his skin.

He staggered backward several steps, falling onto the ropes. His mouthguard, tainted with fresh blood, was spat out onto the boxing ring.

Han Jiangque’s legs spasmed, making it difficult for him to stand. He could only sit down with the support of the ropes.

The arena erupted in a tsunami-like wave of cheers.

Enthusiastic boxing fans enjoyed the thrill and the sight of blood, but Wen Ke couldn’t bear it.

Fu Xiaoyu jumped up abruptly, but before he could say anything, Wen Ke, disregarding the staff trying to stop him, ran to the red corner. Pointing at his clothes, he shouted, “I’m the assistant coach, let me through.”

The scene became chaotic, with staff members entangled in questions from several people. For a moment, they couldn’t clearly see what Wen Ke was wearing, only vaguely sensing it was red. Believing him, they lifted the ropes and let him through.

Unable to jump onto the platform, Wen Ke awkwardly bounced several times on the ground, tears streaming down as he called out, “Han Jiangque.”

Han Jiangque, who was resting with closed eyes, seemed somewhat surprised upon hearing the voice. He slowly turned his head to look.

Seeing Han Jiangque’s bruised face up close, Wen Ke burst into tears.

The handsome Alpha’s left eyebrow was split, his eyes and even half of his face were swollen, covered with an ice pack.

From this distance, Wen Ke could see Han Jiangque’s entire upper body, especially the shoulder and neck area, extensively bruised and swollen, almost as if blood was about to seep through.

“I’m fine, Wen Ke,” Han Jiangque hoarsely said.

“Don’t push too hard, Han Jiangque,” Wen Ke choked, “Protect yourself, okay?”

“Okay.” Han Jiangque even managed to grin at him at this moment, looking as silly as a broken wolf. “Silly giraffe, don’t keep jumping. You can’t jump up.”

He was still joking even in such a state.

Just then, the piercing bell signaling the next round rang again.

Han Jiangque whispered, “The last round, Wen Ke—watch me.”

Wen Ke nodded vigorously. “I’m watching you. Come on, Han Xiaoque, come on.”

The final round began!

Even the beams of light focused on the boxing ring became more dazzling. Han Jiangque and Ivanov stood up and walked towards the center of the arena.

Ivanov’s condition was not particularly advantageous, but it was apparent that he was in better shape than Han Jiangque. He moved lightly on the boxing ring, changing his weight subtly while barefoot.

As a veteran boxing champion, being drawn into a tie by a newcomer was not an ideal situation. Ivanov took a deep breath, roared low like a giant white bear, and stared at Han Jiangque intently.

Wen Ke returned to his seat at this time.

Fu Xiaoyu looked at him and couldn’t help but ask, “How did you get through?!”

“I lied and said I was the assistant coach. I was wearing red,” Wen Ke said, taking a big sip of champagne. “It was chaotic there, and they didn’t notice, so they let me through.”

Fu Xiaoyu’s expression suddenly became astonished.. While another person might not have astonished him with such an action, the seemingly mild-mannered man resembling white rice porridge had the courage to do so, and he had succeeded so naturally. It was indeed quite miraculous.

The final round finally began.

What was astonishing was that Han Jiangque, who had been fighting tenaciously, chose an extremely passive fighting mode from the beginning.

This was different from adopting a defensive posture. Han Jiangque seemed to be running around the ropes to avoid the Bear King’s attacks.

“What’s going on?” The host shouted, “JQ seems to have completely lost the spirit to counterattack? Ivanov is very annoyed! He is eager to attack, but JQ is not engaging! He’s still running! Not fighting? Really not fighting?!”

A chorus of boos resounded throughout the arena—

No audience could accept such a boxing match. It was a complete betrayal of the spirit of boxing.

Wen Ke turned pale, and from behind him, a deep male voice shouted in English, “Don’t be a fucking pussy!”

This insult sparked an even sharper wave of jeers.

Wen Ke felt his heart being twisted.

He knew that his little wolf must have listened to his words to do this, hoping that Han Jiangque wouldn’t get hurt. However, thinking about how painful it must be for him to hear these voices, he couldn’t help but regret his impulsive actions.

“The current round has not produced effective scoring hits. Is it going to end like this?! There’s still one minute, one minute! If JQ continues to be passive, he might be penalized by the referee!”

Ivanov was evidently very agitated. His face was contorted, and he finally cornered Han Jiangque in the corner between two ropes.

Red and blue, finally, came face to face!

Han Jiangque had no choice but to engage. The boxing gloves of the two collided in the air with an unprecedented force.

“The Bear King is very angry! Both sides are throwing rapid punches!” The excited host shouted, “There’s half a minute left! The match is about to end. Are we going to see a draw in the large points, entering the stage of settling the small points for victory or defeat? Ah—they are still fighting!”

In the intense exchange of punches, it was almost impossible to judge who was throwing punches in their entanglement.

In the midst of the intense exchange, the referee couldn’t make a decision. It could be considered ineffective combat, but the entire arena was filled with excitement. This relentless and aggressive brawl was unheard of in an amateur league.

For Ivanov at this moment, it was evident that releasing his pent-up rage was more important. As he continued to strike, he roared angrily, punching faster and faster, seemingly wanting to pound Han Jiangque into the ground!

Sweat splashed like raindrops. Just as the countdown on the big screen began—

Han Jiangque unexpectedly made an unexpected move.

He lowered his body like a wild wolf pouncing for food. Ivanov, who was fully engaged in the fight, was momentarily thrown off balance by this movement. At this moment, his head finally exposed a huge vulnerability!

Han Jiangque’s fiery-red boxing glove suddenly executed a powerful uppercut from the bottom, accurately hitting Ivanov’s chin!

The chin, the weakest point in the human body’s defense, even for a formidable boxer.

Ivanov’s mouthguard was almost knocked loose, and a handful of blood sprayed out like a rain. His tower-like body began to sway, losing its balance.

Meanwhile, Han Jiangque had already jumped half a meter into the air. In the seventh round, he could still unleash such a terrifying leap, truly shocking—

His eyes, originally pitch black, now seemed to ignite a blazing fire in the silent night sky.

Throughout the entire boxing match, Han Jiangque, facing the Bear King, who was more than ten centimeters taller, finally gained an absolute advantage!

His right hand drew a semi-arc, rotating with tremendous centrifugal force. From high to low, with a loud “bang,” it struck heavily on Ivanov’s head!

Whip punch!

With a resounding thud, Ivanov, the tower-like figure, collapsed, falling onto the floor of the boxing ring.

His eyelids trembled, but he couldn’t seem to open them.

“Oh my God!!! Is this real? Is this a KO?”

The host couldn’t help but shout.

The referee agilely entered the ring, kneeling beside Ivanov, and began to raise his right hand for the countdown.

The entire arena erupted, screams echoing, and everyone joined in counting down with the referee —

10, 9, 8…

“Ivanov hasn’t gotten up yet; he hasn’t even opened his eyes.”

3, 2…

“One!”

With that final count that announced the result of the boxing championship, everyone thunderously called out: “JQ! JQ! KO!!!”

Han Jiangque raised his fiery red boxing gloves high, looking up at the dazzling lights as he closed his eyes.

Finally, he let out a suppressed and deep roar.

It was the roar of a boxing king!

He had truly won the match.

Wen Ke stood amidst the overwhelming cheers, looking at Han Jiangque on the high platform. From the eyes of that big boy, he saw a fervent fighting spirit and couldn’t help but feel tears welling up.

It was the first time he had experienced the charm of boxing.

He broke free from the worries and concerns of trivial matters and was completely ignited by the passionate fighting spirit.

He loved Han Jiangque, loved everything that Han Jiangque loved.
