I Only Want You

I Only Want You chapter 37

Before it got dark, the two returned to the Xie family from Liuxian Lake.

As soon as Xie Yun Zhi pushed open the door, he saw Tiantian grabbing the pillow from the sofa and throwing it on the floor. His little face was pouted, and the aunt stood by the coffee table looking hesitant.

Even Yan Lan found this scene quite out of the ordinary. Unable to resist, he walked towards the displeased Tiantian, intending to hold his hand.

Unexpectedly, Tiantian turned his hand back and placed it behind him, refusing to let him hold it, and even took two steps back.

Yan Lan was surprised and faced Tiantian with a smile and a frown, “why are you unhappy?”

Tiantian pouted, “You broke my tablet!”

Yan Lan shook his head, indicating that he didn’t.

Tiantian angrily grabbed the nearby tablet and opened it to show him. No matter how he operated the screen, it stayed on the homepage, and no game could be opened.

Yan Lan explained, “It’s not broken; I just set it to child mode. You can only play for an hour, and when the time is up, you can’t play anymore.”

Tiantian got even angrier; he threw the tablet on the sofa. “You can’t do this!”

Yan Lan raised an eyebrow, turned to look at Xie Yun Zhi standing nearby, and said, “Tiantian says I can’t do this.”

Xie Yun Zhi immediately turned to face Tiantian, “He can.”

Tiantian got even more furious; he felt like they were teaming up to bully him. Filled with resentment, he said, “Teacher, I don’t like you anymore.”

Yan Lan playfully touched his pouting face, “but I like you a lot, the most.”

Seeing this sign language, TianTian’s angry and resentful emotions instantly diminished, but he still frowned.

Yan Lan asked, “Do you want me to play with you, or do you want to play by yourself with the tablet? If you choose the tablet, then I’ll go home because you don’t need me, and you don’t like me either.”

After thinking for a while with his head down, Tiantian reluctantly extended the hand hidden behind his back, allowing Yan Lan to hold it. He also picked up the pillow that had fallen on the floor and put it back on the sofa.

Xie Yun Zhi picked up the tablet and found that Yan Lan had indeed set it to child mode. “It seems that Tiantian is a bit addicted, or else you wouldn’t have set it like this.”

Yan Lan didn’t hide it any longer and nodded in agreement.

Looking at Tiantian, Xie Yun Zhi put the tablet down, “We won’t change this mode. From now on, you can only play for one hour.”

Tiantian wasn’t happy, but there was no use arguing. Xie Yun Zhi always meant what he said.

After dinner, Tiantian did his homework in the small study, and Yan Lan helped him preview the next day’s Chinese class. He also told Tiantian that they would go to the bookstore to buy his calligraphy copybook after breakfast the next day .

Although Tiantian was reluctant to buy such things, he was still happy to go out with them. He went to bed early.

When Yan Lan returned to the master bedroom, Xie Yun Zhi was using his tablet. As soon as he saw him coming in, he put the tablet away, opened his arms, and asked, “Is Tiantian asleep?”

Yan Lan nodded and, as soon as he sat down, was embraced by Xie Yun Zhi.

Only one lamp in the bedroom was on, casting a warm light on the large bed. The silky pajamas slipped off the bed as Yan Lan, naked, sat in front of Xie Yun Zhi. He lowered his eyes, fingers trembling slightly as he unbuttoned Xie Yun Zhi’s pajamas.

It was difficult for him to unbutton it, and Xie Yun Zhi didn’t help. Instead, he leaned over, kissed Yan Lan’s corner of the mouth, and said, “Can’t you do it faster?”

Yan Lan, in response, calmly used one hand to twist Xie Yun Zhi’s arm. With Xie Yun Zhi’s distraction, his hand unbuttoning the pajamas became steadier. In no time, the four buttons in a row were unbuttoned, revealing the beautiful chest and abdominal muscles.

Yan Lan didn’t dare to look into Xie Yun Zhi’s eyes too much, so he stared at his abdominal muscles and helped him completely remove the pajamas, exposing the strong upper body.

Xie Yun Zhi had a great physique. It was a mystery how he could maintain such a body with such a busy schedule. Every part that should have muscles had a moderate amount, not exaggerated. The lines and shapes captivated Yan Lan, an art student, making it hard for him to look away.

“You are an art student. You must have had courses on drawing the human body at school, right?”

Yan Lan nodded. Indeed, there were such courses. Sometimes, they even borrowed a male student from the sports department to draw their muscles.

Xie Yun Zhi took Yan Lan’s fair wrist, brought it to his mouth, and kissed it, saying teasingly, “Then when are you going to draw me?”

Yan Lan squinted at him, using the other hand to poke his firm chest muscles.

“Don’t want to draw? You can draw something else. Didn’t you use charcoal to sketch portraits by the lake before?” While saying this, he hugged Yan Lan’s waist, bringing him into his arms. His other hand tenderly caressed Yan Lan’s smooth back, burying his face in Yan Lan’s shoulder to feel his warmth. “A simple sketch will do. Draw one for me, Yan.”

Yan Lan, nestled in his arms, felt the warmth, and his cheek turned slightly red.

Xie Yun Zhi opened his mouth, holding the tender skin of Yan Lan’s neck, gently sucking, and sighed softly, “I only feel this way when I’m with you.”

Yan Lan trembled all over, lowering his head to look at him with confusion in his eyes.

“It’s like my heart is about to burst, but only when I’m with you.”

Yan Lan couldn’t help but laugh at his words.

“I’m serious.”

Yan Lan nodded, pursed his lips, and lifted his hand, placing it on his own chest. He wanted him to feel his intense heartbeat, silently expressing, “I am too, I feel the same way as you.”

Xie Yun Zhi was momentarily stunned, then suddenly pressed Yan Lan onto the bed and kissed him passionately.

The next morning.

Xie Yun Zhi had no work as it was Sunday, allowing him to leisurely enjoy breakfast.

Tiantian remembered they were going out this morning. Since he went to bed early last night, he surprisingly didn’t linger in bed this morning. He obediently came down to have breakfast.

Yan Lan spread salad dressing on bread slices for him, making a simple sandwich with eggs, ham, and lettuce.

Xie Yun Zhi looked at it with envy, “I want that too.”

Yan Lan prepared the same for him.

After finishing breakfast, the three changed out of their pajamas and went out. In the morning sun, Tiantian wore a small hat. Yan Lan held his hand, walking through the courtyard’s stone path, with Xie Yun Zhi following them.

The driver took them to the front of the city’s largest bookstore, a five-story building with each floor dedicated to different book categories. The most crowded floors were those for children’s books and educational materials, common for families with children.

Using the escalator, they reached the third floor. Tiantiian tightly held Yan Lan’s hand, walking closely beside him, quickly captivated by the abundance of toys in the children’s area. He wanted to go and take a closer look.

Yan Lan shook his head, pointing to the other side, indicating they should go there first.

Reluctantly, Tiantian followed Yan Lan, and they started selecting calligraphy copybooks.

Yan Lan had inquired about suitable copybooks for Tiantian from his English teacher and had also received a copybook from her daughter. With a clear idea of what Tiantian needed, he faced the shelves with dozens, even hundreds of different options without being overwhelmed, carefully selecting the ones suitable for Tiantian.

Xie Yun Zhi stood by their side, being cautious to prevent the running children from colliding with them.

During weekends, the bookstore was filled with many children, and parents brought their kids here to play when they had nowhere else to go. Children of the same age were the easiest to make friends with. They could start not knowing each other, and by the time they left, they would know each other’s age, school grade, class, and even whether they had siblings.

While Yan Lan was choosing copybooks, there was a group of children around them, looking like they were eight or nine years old. It seemed they were curious about Tiantian’s hair color and skin tone. A few kids timidly approached, wanting to take a closer look.

Tiantian noticed their curious glances.

“Wow, his eyes are blue!”

Whatever they were saying, Tiantian couldn’t hear. He could only see the kids pointing and talking animatedly. Soon, he felt they were getting bored and turned his attention away.

After a while, Yan Lan selected three copybooks. When Tiantian saw them, his blue eyes widened.

Three books?!

He urgently grabbed Yan Lan’s hand and vigorously shook his head, indicating that it was too much, too much, and he wouldn’t be able to finish writing them all.

Yan Lan handed the three copybooks held in his arms to Xie Yun Zhi, freeing up his hands to explain to Tiantian, “I didn’t mean for you to write all of them at once. If you can’t finish them this year, you can continue next year. Take your time.”

Tiantian sighed in relief when he heard this.

Xie Yun Zhi playfully pinched his ear, “Silly kid.”

Yan Lan pointed to the toy section, asking Xie Yun Zhi if they could take Tiantian to have a look.

“You decide; if you want to go, we’ll go. I’ll follow your lead.”

Yan Lan couldn’t help but laugh at this, leading Tiantian towards the toy section they wanted to visit earlier.

Unexpectedly, the group of kids from before also followed them. When Tiantian was choosing jigsaw puzzles and coloring books, they gathered the courage to strike up a conversation.

“Hi there, what grade are you in?”

Tiantian looked at them in confusion.

Xie Yun Zhi patted his little curls, “He’s in the third grade.”

The boy with a crew cut exaggeratedly expressed surprise, “I thought he was in second grade!”

“He just looks younger.”

Tiantian, seeing that the boy was talking to his uncle, shifted his attention back to the jigsaw puzzle in front of him.

“Uncle, does he not understand Chinese?”

Xie Yun Zhi nodded, “Yes, he doesn’t understand. He just returned from abroad.”

Several kids suddenly looked disappointed, “We wanted to talk to him about ‘One Piece,’ but we can’t communicate.”

Yan Lan silently watched the kids, who were acting like small adults, walk away. He quietly walked to Xie Yun Zhi’s side, held his hand, and leaned on his shoulder, looking softly at the back of Tiantian’s head.

Xie Yun Zhi tightened the grip on his hand and comforted him, “He has us.”

Yan Lan nodded silently.

The toy section of the bookstore had exquisite toys, but they were not cheap. When Tiantian bought toys, he had to be interested, and if he found it interesting, he would want it. If he wanted it, his uncle would buy it for him.

With Xie Yun Zhi and Yan Lan indulging him, Tiantian could take as much time as he wanted here. Even Xie Yun Zhi ended up buying a wooden photo frame.

Yan Lan looked puzzled at the frame in his hands. Xie Yun Zhi explained, “I want to put it in the office.”

Saying that, he took out his phone, opened the album, and found a photo taken backstage at the welcoming party. It was a picture of Yan Lan, dressed as a queen, and the three of them together.

“I’ll put this picture in the frame.”

Yan Lan looked at the photo of himself in makeup and a wig and earnestly suggested, “How about we take a new photo?”

“Even if we take a new one, I still want to use this one,” Xie Yun Zhi said.

Yan Lan twisted his arm.

Xie Yun Zhi took out another photo frame, saying, “I have another one with the two of us . Me and Her Majesty; we shouldn’t waste it.”

Yan Lan pretended not to hear and took Tiantian’s hand, walking away.

Xie Yun Zhi followed them, “Aren’t you going to hold my hand? If you don’t, I’ll enlarge this photo and hang it on the wall.”

Yan Lan had no choice but to turn back and hold his hand.

Xie Yun Zhi smiled, eyes curved, and handed his hand to him, saying, “That’s more like it.”
