Hearing You Say Love chapter 42
The Kiss
Su Ming thought Zou Beiyuan was too noisy and wanted him to shut up, so he merely pressed his lips lightly against his, like a dragonfly touching the water, before quickly pulling away.
But Zou Beiyuan seemed stunned, staring at him blankly without moving for at least twenty seconds. Then, suddenly, he bent down forcefully and pulled him into his arms, making Su Ming feel as if his waist was going to snap.
Zou Beiyuan pushed down, and Su Ming couldn’t withstand the weight; they lost their balance and fell onto the sofa.
The sofa was soft and wide, supporting Su Ming’s body. He instinctively let out a soft moan, only to be kissed fiercely by Zou Beiyuan.
Zou Beiyuan seemed to have no idea how to kiss, only pressing his lips tightly against Su Ming’s, painfully so.
Their breaths intertwined, and Su Ming caught the fresh scent that belonged to Zou Beiyuan. He wanted to reach out to embrace him but stopped at the moment his fingers were about to touch Zou Beiyuan’s waist, instead clutching the hem of his shirt tightly.
They stayed close for a long time, only parting when they could barely breathe.
Su Ming’s face was flushed; he didn’t dare look into Zou Beiyuan’s eyes, turning his face away and pushing against Zou Beiyuan’s shoulder.
But the person on top of him was as solid as iron, and he couldn’t push him away at all.
Zou Beiyuan reached out to touch Su Ming’s face, then his forehead, and threaded his fingers through his hair, forcing him to turn his face back.
Then he pressed his lips against Su Ming’s once more with great force.
Su Ming had imagined countless kissing scenes, as lustful and explicit as they could be, but he felt his head spin and his heart race at this clumsy, pure, silly, and heavy kiss.
As the evening glow gradually faded, the dimly lit living room fell quiet. It felt like they could only hear each other and see each other in this small corner of the world, practicing how to kiss.
So innocent, Su Ming thought, had Little Wolf never kissed anyone before?
The kiss was fierce, yet the way Zou Beiyuan grabbed Su Ming’s hair was gentle. Rather than gripping, it felt more like caressing. He seemed a bit flustered, propping one hand against the back of the sofa and not daring to press his whole body down, as if afraid of hurting him.
Su Ming felt his heart soften under Zou Beiyuan’s careful ferocity, his own body going weak, like he had been soaking in warm water for too long—long enough that he truly thought he might drown in it.
When their lips parted, Zou Beiyuan was breathing rapidly and intensely, his fingers gradually pressing harder against Su Ming’s scalp. Su Ming’s lips tingled, and his scalp felt a rush of pleasure, his entire body burning as if he had a fever.
His eyes were half-closed, misty with moisture, and his breathing was shallow and soft. He was utterly disoriented and dazed, unable to gather his thoughts for a long while.
After his breathing returned to normal, Zou Beiyuan leaned down again and kissed his lips.
In this final gentle kiss, Su Ming gradually regained his senses and let go of Zou Beiyuan’s shirt.
A phone had been ringing for a while—it was Su Ming’s phone. No one had paid attention to the ringtone earlier, letting it automatically disconnect once, but the caller seemed persistent, calling back almost immediately.
Su Ming shifted, trying to reach for the phone, and at that moment, the doorbell rang. He turned toward the door and gently pushed the person on top of him.
Zou Beiyuan hugged him tightly for a moment before letting go, his voice hoarse as he said, “Let me go see who it is.”
Su Ming propped himself up on the sofa and took out his phone, seeing that the caller was Su Mo.
Meanwhile, Zou Beiyuan had already opened the door, and Su Mo was standing at the entrance.
Su Ming: …
“What are you doing here?” Su Mo asked, craning his neck to look inside while Zou Beiyuan’s tall frame blocked him from entering. “Why is it so dark inside? Where’s my brother?”
Zou Beiyuan propped a hand against the doorframe, preventing Su Mo from coming in. “What do you want with Su Ming? Trying to trick him into another blind date?”
Ignoring Zou Beiyuan, Su Mo called out, “Ge!”
Su Ming hopped toward the door on one leg, and when Su Mo saw him, he anxiously said, “Be careful, Ge, don’t fall.”
Su Ming had decent balance, managing to move without holding onto anything, though a bit wobbly, as if he might fall at any moment. Zou Beiyuan turned around, lifted Su Ming, and carried him.
Taking advantage of the moment, Su Mo slipped into the house and turned on the light.
The room instantly brightened, revealing the lingering redness on both men’s lips. Su Mo glanced at Su Ming, then at Zou Beiyuan, suspicion rising as he asked, “What were you two just doing?”
Su Ming: …
He signed: Kissing.
Su Mo’s eyes widened in shock, his face flushing red as he yelled at Zou Beiyuan, “You jerk! Did you take advantage of my brother?!”
Zou Beiyuan froze at the accusation and even seriously pondered whether what had just happened counted as him taking advantage.
Su Ming signed: I initiated it.
Tears welled up in Su Mo’s eyes. “You initiated it? Ge, how could you? No, how could you kiss him?”
Su Ming signed: If you have something to say, say it. If not, leave.
“Oh,” Su Mo remembered why he came. “What happened to your foot?”
Su Ming stretched out his leg and pulled up his pant leg to show Su Mo.
His right foot was swollen to the same height as his ankle, with large patches of bruising against his pale skin, looking quite alarming.
Su Mo squatted down to examine the injury. “How did this happen?”
Su Ming briefly explained how he had hurt himself, and when Su Mo heard that it had happened while he was out with Zou Beiyuan, he immediately shouted at Zou Beiyuan again, “You took my brother out, and you didn’t take care of him properly? What were you thinking?”
Zou Beiyuan: …
The scolding was justified, and he couldn’t argue back.
Su Ming, feeling a headache coming on, signed to Su Mo: Is this what you came to talk about?
Su Mo shot Zou Beiyuan another glare, as if he wished he would suffer the same injury.
“How are you supposed to cook for Teacher Song with your foot like this? I’ll take the day off tomorrow and come over to help you.”
Su Ming signed: Cooking doesn’t require legs.
The kitchen counter was wide enough for him to lean against, and with the anti-slip mats Zou Beiyuan had laid out, it wasn’t too much of a hassle to manage, so there wasn’t much impact on his ability to cook.
Su Mo responded, “But you’ll need help with things like showering. I’ll stay tonight and take care of you.”
Su Ming signed: No need. I can manage on my own.
Zou Beiyuan chimed in, “I’ll stay and take care of him.”
Su Mo reminded him, “My brother got hurt while he was with you.”
“That was an accident. It won’t happen again.”
“I don’t trust you,” Su Mo said. “There’s a first time, and there’ll be a second.”
“Impossible.”
“And besides, you took advantage of him while he was injured!” Su Mo accused.
Zou Beiyuan argued, “Your brother already said he initiated it!”
Su Mo countered, “Even if he initiated it, you couldn’t have refused?”
Zou Beiyuan was momentarily at a loss. “What kind of logic is that? You work in a bank; does that mean the bank will never go bankrupt?”
In the midst of their argument, Su Ming futilely signed: I don’t need anyone to take care of me. Neither of you needs to stay.
But no one paid attention to him.
Su Ming: …
Neither of them managed to out-argue the other, and their quarrel was only interrupted when Su Mo’s phone rang.
Zou Beiyuan sat down beside Su Ming, who typed a message on his phone for him to read: [Don’t argue with Su Mo.]
Zou Beiyuan, thinking Su Ming was upset, was about to apologize when he saw Su Ming continue typing: [Just punch him.]
Zou Beiyuan glanced at Su Mo’s face, which looked strikingly similar to Su Ming’s, and thought: I couldn’t possibly hit him.
After typing, Su Ming put his phone away. He and Zou Beiyuan sat side by side, their eyes locked on each other, so close that neither could help but focus on the other’s lips.
Su Ming’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly averted his gaze.
“I’m here,” Su Ming overheard Su Mo saying into his phone. “I’ve seen my brother.”
Su Ming assumed it was their parents who had sent Su Mo, but when he looked over, he noticed the sweet smile on Su Mo’s face. And if he wasn’t mistaken, that smile looked… affectionate.
“It’s nothing serious, just a sprained ankle,” Su Mo continued.
Whatever the other person said made Su Mo smile even wider. “Alright, you rest early too. Message me when you wake up tomorrow.”
Su Ming: …
It definitely wasn’t their parents.
After the call, Su Mo pocketed his phone and wiped the smile from his face as he said, “Ge, I’ll sleep on the couch tonight.”
Zou Beiyuan added, “Then I’ll sleep in the bed.”
Su Ming: ?
Did I agree to let either of you stay here?
At this moment, Su Ming suddenly remembered something very important.
The bookshelf in his room was filled entirely with volumes of his comics, all neatly arranged in sets.
Especially his earlier works—back then, the publishers, in an effort to boost sales, gave his works embarrassing titles like Tentacle X Force: Reincarnated as the Demon King’s Plaything in Another World, Online Dating with My Male Idol Using Fetish Toys, and If I Don’t Sleep with My Nemesis, I’ll Lose My Superpowers…
Su Mo didn’t really care, but under no circumstances could Little Wolf see such things.
Su Ming made a swift decision, pointing with his hand: Su Mo stays.
“Why?” Zou Beiyuan stared at Su Ming, completely surprised by the choice.
Su Ming quickly typed a message to soothe him: [You’re too tired today, and you have to go to the hospital tomorrow. Go home and rest early.]
“No,” Zou Beiyuan replied. “How could I leave the task of taking care of you to someone else? Taking care of you isn’t tiring.”
So Su Ming lied: [I have something to discuss with my brother.]
Zou Beiyuan paused for a few seconds: “Fine, I’ll come back to hold you after you’re done talking.”
Su Ming: ?
“Your brother has a point,” Zou Beiyuan continued. “You’ll find it difficult to shower on your own.”
Su Mo immediately jumped up: “You must be kidding! My brother’s still injured, are you a beast?!”
Zou Beiyuan ignored him, keeping his eyes only on Su Ming: “Come to my place to shower. I have a bathtub, and I’ll go prepare the hot water now.”
