Evil Love Appears

Evil Love Appears chapter 73

This was quite an eventful night.

As soon as they opened the beer, it quickly disappeared, with Fu Xiaoyu consuming most of it.

It wasn’t because Fu Xiaoyu had a better tolerance for alcohol, though.

Xu Jiale had a drinking habit that seemed elderly but was quite effective: he drank slowly but steadily. Back when he was studying abroad, he used this technique to outlast numerous white students and even Russian classmates with high alcohol tolerance. People initially thought he drank less, but in the end, they realized he drank just as much; he was simply slow.

Fu Xiaoyu, on the other hand, was the complete opposite when it came to drinking. In fact, Xu Jiale had noticed his lower alcohol tolerance during their previous game of cards at Wen Ke’s house.

Tonight was no different. While Xu Jiale was still nursing his first bottle, Fu Xiaoyu was almost done with his second.

Fu Xiaoyu was a fast drinker, and after downing several bottles of beer, his cheeks turned bright red. He began to lie on Xu Jiale’s lap, acting a bit spoiled.

“I’ll call a car; it’s time to go home.”

“No, I don’t want to,” Fu Xiaoyu mumbled, his face against Xu Jiale’s thigh. “Just a little longer… just a bit more, and we’ll see the sunrise.”

He seemed to have an idyllic vision of it.

Although Fu Xiaoyu was drunk, he was still quite clean. He noticed that his legs were too long for the picnic blanket, so he obediently hugged them to his chest.

“The sunrise?” Xu Jiale raised an eyebrow and picked up a beer bottle, playfully icing Fu Xiaoyu’s face. “Are you a wild cat? Planning to spend the night outdoors like this?”

“It’s cold,” Fu Xiaoyu sniffed, and to avoid the chilly beer bottle, he buried his face even deeper, nearly touching the tail under Xu Jiale’s swim trunks.

“Ahem.” Xu Jiale’s expression suddenly tensed, and he immediately, discreetly moved Fu Xiaoyu away.

Fu Xiaoyu kept his eyes closed and didn’t struggle much. He appeared to be half-asleep.

After a brief moment of silence, Xu Jiale came up with a sly move.

He tilted his head back and started whistling nonchalantly at the sky.

This was a devious move, one that only those who had experience with children and potty training could come up with.

Especially considering that Fu Xiaoyu had consumed several bottles of beer, his bladder was at its most fragile.

Xu Jiale began whistling to the sky halfway but suddenly stopped and looked down at Fu Xiaoyu lying on his lap.

His long eyelashes gently fluttered with each breath.

Fu Xiaoyu was huddled, but the way he leaned against Xu Jiale’s thigh seemed comfortable. His breathing became more even, and he appeared on the verge of falling asleep.

Xu Jiale sighed and checked the time on his phone. In fact, in a little over two hours, they might witness the sunrise. It was also at this moment that he noticed a WeChat message from Jin Chu that had been sent two hours ago: “I’ve booked a flight. I’m going back to the United States tomorrow.”

He remained silent for a moment and replied: “Okay, stay safe.”

The air still held a salty sea breeze, and Xu Jiale softly stroked Fu Xiaoyu’s hair, giving the beer bottles on the picnic blanket a little shake one by one, and finally picked up a nearly empty bottle to take a sip.

All right, let’s wait for the sunrise.

Xu Jiale made up his mind and, with numbed legs and a few mosquito bites, alternated between dozing and waking up, waiting until around 4 a.m., when there was a hint of the impending sunrise.

Then, it began to rain again.

Early summer weather was unpredictable. One moment, it was calm, and the next, it was pouring rain.

Xu Jiale was confused, and all of a sudden, the raindrops woke him up. Of course, Fu Xiaoyu was awakened too.

Both of them were drenched, and they hurriedly piled the beer bottles by the roadside, bundled up the unrecoverable items in the picnic blanket, and then dashed into the Lamborghini.

Who would have thought that in a single night, they’d get soaked twice.

“Damn.”

Xu Jiale wiped his face with his T-shirt, and when he turned around, he saw Fu Xiaoyu doing the same. The two of them stared at each other’s disheveled appearances for a few seconds before both burst into laughter.

In the end, they had to call a taxi and returned home, soaking wet. Fu Xiaoyu looked at the rain through the car window and seemed a bit regretful.

They hadn’t seen the sunrise after all.

Xu Jiale remembered a slow-paced reality show he had watched with Fu Xiaoyu not long ago, “Extraordinary Life.” They had watched while eating, following Aya and Chunxia’s pursuit of a tornado across the United States. They had chased it for an entire episode but hadn’t caught up.

Fu Xiaoyu had to leave to attend a video conference after their meal, so he didn’t actually see the ending of that episode. However, Chunxia’s lonely expression had left him feeling melancholic.

Sometimes, life seemed to throw in such absurd situations. Despite making up one’s mind to wait patiently or to embark on a challenging journey, the desired scenery might not be witnessed in the end.

……………………………..

The following week, the number of active users on the love app increased significantly. Both Xu Jiale and Fu Xiaoyu were extremely busy.

However, the most important event was on the weekend.

Saturday was Wen Ke’s expected due date.

Xu Jiale was genuinely worried.

Though none of them explicitly said it, they all knew what it meant when Han Jiangque artificially marked Wen Ke. At that time, everyone had hoped that the use of AO’s pheromone connection would wake up Han Jiangque. However, a miracle had yet to occur.

The time of delivery was the point in an Omega’s life when pheromones were most potent and intense. This basically meant that it was Wen Ke’s last opportunity to awaken Han Jiangque.

Xu Jiale called Wen Ke almost every day, but usually, his conversations were cut short by Fu Xiaoyu.

In truth, even though he was Wen Ke’s best friend, on the surface, Fu Xiaoyu appeared to be more anxious than Xu Jiale. There were times when Xu Jiale found pregnancy and childbirth-related web pages on Fu Xiaoyu’s computer. It seemed that Fu Xiaoyu usually didn’t have much knowledge in this area but had recently studied intensively.

Fu Xiaoyu was usually swamped with work, but this week, he experienced insomnia due to the anticipation of Wen Ke giving birth.

“Xu Jiale,” one night, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly woke him up, shaking him. “What if Han Jiangque doesn’t wake up… will Wen Ke be in a lot of pain?”

“Yeah,” Xu Jiale, just roused from his sleep, had a slightly stuffy voice.

“Do you think… Wen Ke will be able to give birth smoothly?” Fu Xiaoyu looked up at the ceiling, asking softly, “He’s pregnant with twins. And he’s just a D-rank Omega. He hasn’t been in the best condition recently, and if he…”

“Alright,” Xu Jiale pulled Fu Xiaoyu into his arms. “If you’re too worried, we can go ahead two days early and prepare for work. We can leave on Friday evening, so it should be fine.”

“Okay,” Fu Xiaoyu replied, immediately calmer. “But we can’t leave on Friday. We have a meeting with Blue Rain that day, damn it.”

He even cursed.

“Don’t worry too much. We’ll call him more frequently. The due date is Saturday, and if everything goes well, we’ll head over on Friday night.”

Little did they know that Wen Ke’s twins were impatient.

On Friday morning, Xu Jiale and Fu Xiaoyu were in the middle of a meeting at Blue Rain when they received a call from Han’s family. They were informed that Wen Ke had started experiencing contractions early in the morning and had already been admitted to the hospital.

Fu Xiaoyu became agitated and quickly settled the remaining matters with Blue Rain.

“Mr. Fu,” Wang Xiaoshan hurriedly followed him. “We couldn’t book high-speed train tickets for the afternoon. What if we wait until…”

“No waiting. We’ll drive there,” Xu Jiale said, opening the Tesla car door.

“Alright,” Wang Xiaoshan looked around and, seeing that people like Hu Xia and Xiao Yun were not around, quickly leaned over to the car window and said, “Xu-ge, our boss hasn’t had a meal yet. Please take care of him.”

Xu Jiale smiled and was about to respond when Fu Xiaoyu, who was beside him, handed a document over and said sternly, “Wang Xiaoshan, don’t worry about unnecessary things. This afternoon, go through these two proposals carefully and check for any omissions.”

They arrived in H City in the afternoon.

Wen Ke was still in the hospital room. This Omega was a first-timer, and the labor process was extremely long. At this point, his reproductive cavity hadn’t completely opened yet. After these hours, one could imagine how painful it must be.

When Fu Xiaoyu and Xu Jiale arrived, the people from Han’s family were all gathered in the corridor outside the hospital room, but none of them, being Alphas, were allowed inside.

Only Fu Xiaoyu was allowed into the delivery room.

As he hurried into the room, he was immediately hit by an incredibly strong scent of fresh grass—Wen Ke’s pheromones. This low-level Omega had never released such a strong scent of pheromones in his entire life.

Inside the room, there were several nurses attending to Wen Ke, who was lying alone on the bed. His abdomen was raised high, legs spread open, and his face was pale.

Upon hearing footsteps, Wen Ke almost used all his strength to lift his upper body, but when he saw Fu Xiaoyu, his eyes dimmed for a moment.

It was evident that he was still hoping that the person who had arrived was Han Jiangque.

“Wen Ke…”

Fu Xiaoyu walked to the bedside and tightly held the Omega’s sweaty hand. “Wen Ke, I’m here. I’ve come.”

“Han Jiangque, is he awake?” Wen Ke’s fingers were trembling, and he clearly had an answer in his heart, but he couldn’t help but look expectantly.

“I’m here with you,” Fu Xiaoyu whispered, bowing his head.

Wen Ke forced a smile, but then, it seemed that he was hit by a strong cramp. He gripped Fu Xiaoyu’s hand with such force that even Fu Xiaoyu felt the pain.

Wen Ke was gasping heavily, and his forehead was covered in sweat beads. He had bitten his lips to the point that they were bleeding. Despite the pain, he couldn’t control his sobs. “Xiaoyu, I want Han Jiangque…”

With this cry, the usually resilient Wen Ke could no longer bear it.

His legs were trembling, and he moaned continuously. “I want Han Jiangque… Xiaoyu, why hasn’t he woken up? It hurts so much…”

He couldn’t help but cry, and a nurse quickly wiped away his tears and continued to monitor the situation between his legs.

Fu Xiaoyu had no idea what to say and could only hold the Omega’s hands futilely.

This feeling made him feel sad; it was a kind of sadness that couldn’t be described no matter how many obstetric knowledge articles he read. It wasn’t just the pain, but also the embarrassment that one couldn’t control, lying there with legs spread wide, and being tormented to the point of crying.

The excruciating pain made him panic for a moment.

He was an Omega, and he couldn’t help but feel panicked.

It was at this moment that the nurse stood up and said solemnly, “The reproductive cavity is open. It’s the second stage of labor. Except for his Alpha, no one else can go in.”

Fu Xiaoyu was also pushed out. He had only been with Wen Ke for a while, but he felt drained. Xu Jiale sneakily handed him a lemon-flavored lozenge and asked with a hint of anxiety, “How is Wen Ke? Can he hold on?”

“Just in pain,” Fu Xiaoyu said hoarsely. “He’s too miserable without his Alpha, and it’s too hard for him.”

As he said this, his voice choked slightly.

But at that moment, Fu Xiaoyu realized that Xu Jiale’s gaze was suddenly wandering, looking past him with a look of ecstatic joy.

Fu Xiaoyu suddenly realized what was happening and turned his head abruptly.

Two nurses were pushing a wheelchair and rushing towards the delivery room.

The Alpha in the wheelchair was still as handsome and tall as ever, but due to prolonged bed rest, he appeared frail and thin.

Despite this, Han Jiangque’s pitch-black eyes shone with astonishing brightness, and his throat produced a slightly hoarse roar. “Let me in. I’m his Alpha, I’m Wen Ke’s Alpha!”

He had actually woken up at the very last moment.

Fu Xiaoyu felt his nose and eyes stinging.

The time that followed seemed extraordinarily long but also fleeting.

The entire corridor was chaotic and noisy, and everyone was jubilant, feeling a bit overwhelmed by happiness.

The people from Han’s family were crowded outside the delivery room, and Fu Xiaoyu and Xu Jiale were suddenly pushed to the back.

Fu Xiaoyu was getting anxious, and Xu Jiale was rough. He directly pushed aside the Alpha in front of them to clear a path.

“What the hell—”

Han’s older brother’s face went from pale to red, and he was pushed outside, unable to join in the celebration with the rest of the Han family. He could only grab Xu Jiale’s shoulder and shake it vigorously.

“They’ve given birth!”

“They’ve given birth!” Xu Jiale held Fu Xiaoyu’s hand, gave Han’s older brother a punch in excitement, and it was at this moment that two clear cries of a baby could be heard coming from the delivery room.
