Evil Love Appears

Evil Love Appears chapter 49

“Good morning, Xu Jiale.”

As soon as Xu Jiale opened the door, he saw Fu Xiaoyu wearing sunglasses, smiling and holding a bag. “I’ve got breakfast packed. Are you feeling better?”

Good morning, Xu Jiale.

Darn.

Xu Jiale leaned against the door frame, mentally repeating this sentence and said hoarsely, “I’m much better now.”

The morning sun was warm and inviting as Fu Xiaoyu walked into his room, stepping into the sunlight.

“What did you bring me? It’s not vegetable leaves, is it?”

Xu Jiale followed behind Fu Xiaoyu, playfully examining the contents of the two bags and asked with a critical tone.

“Shrimp dumplings, rice noodle rolls,” Fu Xiaoyu put his sunglasses on his head and carefully placed the bags on the dining table, then looked up and asked, “And there’s congee, blanched lettuce… Xu Jiale, do you like Cantonese breakfast?”

Xu Jiale decided to answer this question directly with his actions. He sat down and, without any hesitation, started eating the shrimp dumplings and rice noodle rolls, devouring them one after the other as if he was a whirlwind.

Fu Xiaoyu sat across from Xu Jiale, and when he saw Xu Jiale eating without any elegance, he couldn’t help but feel thrilled.

If the choice of the restaurant during their earlier meetups was a practice round, this time it was a real date. Xu Jiale enjoyed the breakfast Fu Xiaoyu had picked out, and that was a victory.

And a victory, of course, made him excited.

“Is it delicious?” Fu Xiaoyu asked.

“Delicious,” Xu Jiale finished the soup in one gulp.

“In that case, I’ll buy you breakfast again tomorrow; this place has other dim sum dishes.”

“Sure,” Xu Jiale said straightforwardly, realizing that it was meaningless to politely refuse in front of this omega.

“Xu Jiale,” Fu Xiaoyu said, not eating much, and put down his chopsticks after a while. “Can we share calendars?”

This was a somewhat unexpected move, and Fu Xiaoyu looked at Xu Jiale with a very serious expression, suggesting that he meant business.

“What?”

Xu Jiale was caught off guard.

“I’ll share a calendar with you on DingTalk,” Fu Xiaoyu explained as he picked up his phone and sent an invitation.

Xu Jiale was puzzled, and he instinctively picked up his ringing phone, opened DingTalk, and saw the calendar that Fu Xiaoyu had shared.

The calendar was colored pink, and the calendar name was “Date Schedule.”

“Look at the pink part of this shared calendar,” Fu Xiaoyu explained carefully, “I’ll plan my free time a week in advance and mark it in pink. I’ve given you editing rights so you can also make changes. We’ll use this time for our dates. Is that okay?”

Xu Jiale’s hand holding the phone trembled slightly.

DingTalk’s shared calendar function, designed for work purposes to help colleagues understand each other’s schedules and improve teamwork, was now being used by Fu Xiaoyu to manage their date time.

“Wait a minute,” Xu Jiale was getting into the flow of this management and decided to check this week’s date schedule. When he saw that both Saturday and Sunday were marked in pink, he suddenly remembered, “I’m playing basketball on Saturday with Amon and Ningzi, you know… the basketball court with those guys you’ve seen before. They’ve made plans a few times before, and I’ve turned them down, but this time I really have to go.”

“Ah… Okay,” Fu Xiaoyu nodded, but his tone couldn’t hide a hint of disappointment.

Their first weekend date was now ruined. Although there was still Sunday, they were going to H City to see Han Jiangque, and there couldn’t be any changes to that.

“I have to go to work; we have a morning meeting and I can’t be late.”

Fu Xiaoyu quickly regained his composure, standing up.

Xu Jiale, who had been hesitant about Saturday, offered, “Wait.”

“Fu Xiaoyu, I’ll drive you to work.”

This was a sudden inspiration, and Xu Jiale said it quickly.

“Xu Jiale…” Fu Xiaoyu’s eyes brightened, but then he instinctively said, “You just recovered from a fever; you should rest.”

“Staying at home all the time can also drive a patient crazy.”

Without waiting for Fu Xiaoyu to refuse again, Xu Jiale directly took a jacket from the side, got out of his apartment while signaling for Fu Xiaoyu to follow, and walked over to the Tesla and opened the passenger door. He blinked and said, “Get in, Mr. Fu, I could use some fresh air.”

“Alright.”

Fu Xiaoyu couldn’t resist any longer and, with a smile, put on his sunglasses and got into the car.

Worth it.

Xu Jiale was still in his pajamas, with just a jacket thrown on, and he was acting a bit foolish, but for some reason, he felt that it was worth it.

Fortunately, it was only a short drive to Twin Star Tower. There probably weren’t many people who would see him in this silly state.

Xu Jiale initially felt there wouldn’t be any complications, but to his surprise, just as they arrived at the parking lot of Twin Star Tower, Fu Xiaoyu ran into Hu Xia and Xiao Yun head-on.

“Mr. Fu, you came so early today!”

Hu Xia’s face lit up with happiness when he saw Fu Xiaoyu, and he couldn’t help but come over.

And when he approached, he saw Xu Jiale in the driver’s seat of the Tesla. “Huh? Xu-ge!”

He waved energetically at Xu Jiale and even walked around to the side, tapping on the car window and asked with concern, “Xu-ge! Weren’t you on sick leave with a cold? Why are you here with Mr. Fu? Did you end your sick leave and come to work?”

“…”

Xu Jiale gritted his teeth but, out of politeness, had to roll down the car window.

During this process, he thought quickly and then put on a nonchalant smile. “Good morning, Hu Xia, Xiao Yun.”

“Good morning, Xu-ge, Mr. Fu.”

“I didn’t end my sick leave.”

Xu Jiale said, “I just have some work to discuss with Mr. Fu. He doesn’t have much time, so we had breakfast nearby and discussed work over breakfast.”

Hu Xia instinctively wanted to continue asking, “Xu-ge, did you…”

“Hu Xia,” Fu Xiaoyu, who had just gotten out of the car and was growing impatient, finally couldn’t hold back and asked with a stern expression, “It’s almost 9:30. Have you clocked in?”

“Ahh!” Hu Xia immediately realized, grabbed Xiao Yun, and ran towards the direction of the elevator while saying, “Xu-ge, get some rest.”

It wasn’t until they gasped their way into the elevator that Hu Xia finally couldn’t help but say, “This really isn’t appropriate. Who discusses work when they’re on sick leave with a cold? Xu-ge couldn’t even rest properly!”

“That’s going too far!” Xiao Yun also felt indignant and commented, “Look at Xu-ge’s attire—pajamas and a jacket. It’s so pitiful. He probably got woken up by Mr. Fu in the middle of the night and was forced to report on work. Ugh, you saw it, right? Xu-ge even drove Mr. Fu here.”

The “pitiful” Xu Jiale was now driving back home on the road.

Having successfully used an excuse to evade Hu Xia and Xiao Yun, he felt relaxed and played electronic music on his car’s sound system while driving.

Driving halfway, he encountered some traffic, so he was stuck and couldn’t move. He took his phone and reviewed the date schedule that Fu Xiaoyu had shared with him earlier. When he saw the large section of pink for Saturday, his fingers paused.

Originally, this omega had set aside an entire day for their date, even enthusiastically marking it in pink.

Xu Jiale couldn’t help but think back to the fleeting disappointment he had seen in Fu Xiaoyu’s eyes just now at home.

He impatiently tapped the steering wheel. Although he knew it would be a headache to explain Fu Xiaoyu to his friends, he thought, whatever.

He picked up his phone, sent a WeChat message to Fu Xiaoyu:

-.-: Can you play basketball?

No response.

He didn’t want to wait too long and switched to DingTalk, sending another message.

Xu Jiale: Fu Xiaoyu, can you play basketball?

Fu Xiaoyu: Yes.

Xu Jiale: How about playing basketball together this Saturday?

Fu Xiaoyu: (^o^)/~

Fu Xiaoyu: Oops, I accidentally selected an emoji.

Fu Xiaoyu: Sure.

Xu Jiale: (^o^)/~
