Evil Love Appears

Evil Love Appears chapter 37

On the day the heat cycle officially ended, Fu Xiaoyu spent the entire day doing household chores by himself.

He tossed a pile of clothes that he rarely wore into the washing machine, cleaned them, ironed some of them after they dried, and then covered them with dust covers and hung them up.

He had a whole walk-in closet, and even just tending to a small portion of it was already a substantial amount of work. But he still felt it wasn’t enough.

Since he started working, his time had become increasingly precious, and the mansion was too large, so he had hired someone to clean it every week.

The two housekeepers were very diligent, which left Fu Xiaoyu with some free time in the house, and he couldn’t find any activities to occupy himself.

After some contemplation, Fu Xiaoyu decided to crouch down and thoroughly clean the master bathroom’s toilet.

This was certainly an unusual behavior.

Both the doctor and Xu Jiale had advised him to rest more, but despite the lingering discomfort in his body, he felt the need to stay busy.

Originally, he had planned to handle his work as usual to avoid any emotional issues, but just before going to B University, he had embraced the “to hell with it” attitude that Xu Jiale had taught him. He blocked all the people from IM Group who were contacting him for work. Surprisingly, this had left him without his usual safety net.

Fu Xiaoyu kept himself busy until the evening, but eventually, he had to face a fact: no matter how clean and shiny he made the toilet, he couldn’t resolve the intense turmoil in his heart.

On that day, he had picked up his phone consciously or unconsciously about fifty or sixty times.

Fu Xiaoyu knew he had no work scheduled, and the frequency of checking his phone was an admission to himself that he was doing it just for Xu Jiale.

But the alpha with the Crayon Shin-chan defecating cartoon as his profile picture hadn’t sent him any messages.

Xu Jiale had indeed strictly adhered to the principle he had emphasized before they went to bed:

The heat cycle ends, and everything returns to normal.

It was a rule they had agreed to follow together, but now Fu Xiaoyu felt that something was amiss.

Late at night, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly decided to stop struggling.

He filled the bathtub with hot water and hesitated for a moment before adding a few drops of lemongrass-scented essential oil. Then he grandly opened a bottle of champagne for himself.

Fu Xiaoyu rarely made such a fuss about taking a bath.

Fuss meant unnecessary and inefficient, something he had always tried to avoid in his orderly life. But tonight was different.

Fu Xiaoyu lay in the bathtub, holding a glass of champagne, and the icy champagne quickly frosted the surface of the glass in the steamy bathroom. He looked at his fingertips, sipping the champagne, lost in thought.

In Fu Xiaoyu’s spacious walk-in closet, there was an oversized mirror that was slightly exaggerated. Occasionally, he would secretly admit to himself that he had a very attractive body, but the unverified charm wasn’t significant.

So every day, when he stood there changing clothes, he would only take a careful yet hasty glance at his naked body.

He had never truly appreciated himself.

But today was different. From morning to night, he couldn’t help but think about Xu Jiale. Whenever he closed his eyes, images of their lovemaking during the heat cycle flooded his mind like a tide. He could still feel a hidden pleasure and excitement flowing within him.

For the first time in his life, he realized that sensuality was not just an adjective but a wonderful feeling.

Thinking about Xu Jiale made him feel sexy.

Just as he reached a slight buzz from the alcohol, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly stepped out of the bathtub, walked into the study, and retrieved a discarded whiteboard and a few markers left there.

He did this back and forth, all the while running around completely naked.

Water droplets fell on the carpet, but he didn’t care. Organizing his thoughts had a method, and Fu Xiaoyu had always been skilled at it.

He set the champagne glass aside, leaned against the bathtub, and held up the whiteboard. He started by writing “Xu Jiale” in the center, circled it, and then filled the surrounding area with all the jumbled thoughts, creating a mind map.

At first, he wrote specific things, like Xu Jiale’s age, height, pheromone scent, and family situation.

Then it expanded, adding various scattered words related to Xu Jiale on the edge.

Anything related to negativity, such as the pre-heat cycle disclaimer and his complicated marital situation, he wrote in black with a bracketed note [verbal].

When writing about positive aspects, he used a red marker. The first thing that came to his mind was a bit embarrassing to write in Chinese, so he changed it to English: “great sex,” and circled those two words with a heart.

The whiteboard’s corners and edges were filled, and the red words outnumbered the black ones.

If he didn’t organize it this way, Fu Xiaoyu wouldn’t have known that there were so many positive associations related to Xu Jiale. He reviewed each one carefully, couldn’t help but smile, and took another big sip of champagne.

It turned out that in his heart, Xu Jiale was this great.

He had used this method to roughly evaluate numerous projects before, but no matter what, once red dominated, he wouldn’t easily give up.

However, a skilled project manager wouldn’t overlook any risk or negative impact written in black.

Especially on this board related to Xu Jiale, any word written in black was not to be underestimated.

Apart from the pre-heat cycle disclaimer, there was also the complicated marital situation with Jin Chu.

Fu Xiaoyu closed his eyes, lay in the bathtub, pondered for a long time, and finally turned the board over to write a few cautious yet excited words.

Step One Strategy: Limited Initiated Contact.

On the day Fu Xiaoyu decided on the “limited contact” strategy, Xu Jiale had actually attempted to search for that Cartier bracelet after driving home in the morning. It’s hard to say how serious he was.

However, in practice, he spent less than five minutes glancing around the driveway in front of his villa.

Such a half-hearted search naturally ended fruitlessly.

Xu Jiale didn’t attach much value to the expensive Cartier bracelet. After spending almost a sleepless night at the hospital, he took a nap upon returning home, and only then did he hurry to Amon’s house to pick up Xiao Nanyi.

The following two days were the weekend, and his fulfilling life as a dad left him with little time to dwell on the events that had occurred between him and Fu Xiaoyu. This was probably one of the advantages of parenting.

Occasionally, when he opened WeChat, Xu Jiale would scroll down a bit because the last conversation with Fu Xiaoyu was a long time ago, and their chat was pushed down to a lower position.

Fu Xiaoyu’s profile picture was a half-body shot in a business suit, with a formal expression, exuding a boring vibe, completely burying the rare beauty of that omega.

He looked at it for a moment, shook his head, and closed WeChat.

Apart from necessary work-related matters, he didn’t intend to have private contact with Fu Xiaoyu anymore.

However, what he didn’t expect was that on the second day of their separation, in the evening, the WeChat profile picture with that boring business image suddenly became animated.

At that moment, Xu Jiale was ice skating at the rink with Xiao Nanyi. When his phone vibrated, he deliberately stopped, took out his phone, and saw a message from Fu Xiaoyu.

Before opening it, he couldn’t see the specific content, testing his willpower to not immediately open it.

Xu Jiale leaned against the rink’s barrier, determined to wait a few more minutes before checking.

But just as he made up his mind to do that, Fu Xiaoyu on the other end suddenly deleted the message.

“Damn it…”

Xu Jiale felt a little annoyed and responded with a question mark.

Fu Xiaoyu: Sorry, wrong person.

The phone vibrated again, and Fu Xiaoyu quickly sent him a WeChat message to explain.

Xu Jiale squinted his eyes slightly.

To be honest, pretending to send a message to the wrong person during the ambiguous phase was a tactic he had stopped using since high school, and it was rather clumsy.

But he didn’t intend to dwell on it and only replied with a “1,” indicating that he understood, and the conversation was over.

However, before he could put his phone back in his pocket, it vibrated again.

Fu Xiaoyu: By the way, Xu Jiale, I’ll be going to the office tomorrow afternoon. Please have everyone prepare progress reports in advance, and arrange a single office for me on the Lite floor.

What?

Xu Jiale was suddenly bewildered.

Wasn’t Fu Xiaoyu completely withdrawing from the love project app?

“Daddy!”

Wearing a down jacket and looking like a little dumpling, Xu Nanyi suddenly threw himself into his arms, tilting his face up and asking, “Who are you texting? Is it Aiden?”

“No…” Xu Jiale replied to Fu Xiaoyu with another “1” and instinctively said, “Nanyi, Daddy might have to work late tomorrow.”

Author’s Note:

Fu Xiaoyu: Taking over the “Xu Jiale” project.
