Evil Love Appears

Evil Love Appears chapter 35

The injection the doctor gave Fu Xiaoyu had already taken effect. He no longer experienced the intense pain and spasms he had before, but instead, he felt waves of hunger.

So when Han Jiangque anxiously rushed into the hospital room, Fu Xiaoyu was nestled in the hospital bed peeling the second orange. He heard the commotion and looked up in surprise, “Han Jiangque? Why are you here?”

Following behind him was Wen Ke, almost as if he were chasing after Han Jiangque.

After asking the question, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly noticed that the tall alpha looked disheveled, with his eye sockets and forehead appearing to have taken some blows, showing signs of redness, and his eye corner seemed slightly swollen.

“What happened to you?” Fu Xiaoyu couldn’t help but be shocked.

This friend of his wasn’t the brightest, but when it came to physical confrontations, Fu Xiaoyu had never seen anyone dare to challenge Han Jiangque in a fight. For a moment, he even suspected that Wen Ke might have beaten up Han Jiangque.

Han Jiangque was almost about to lean over Fu Xiaoyu’s face by the bedside. However, the strong scent of the Yantong flower which when he became furious would turn to a strong alcohol like scent filled the room, reminding him that he was an alpha and approaching an omega whose heat hadn’t completely ended was inappropriate. So, he awkwardly took a couple of steps back and asked, “I brought Wen Ke for a shot. Xiaoyu, are you okay?”

“I’m fine… Don’t worry,” Fu Xiaoyu said. There was a moment when both he and Han Jiangque seemed to forget that they were still in the middle of a cold war.

Just at that moment, due to his blurry vision, Xu Jiale had to slow down and, as a result, entered the hospital room last.

Fu Xiaoyu’s full attention was immediately drawn to Xu Jiale. He widened his eyes and asked, “Xu Jiale, what happened to you? Where are your glasses?”

Xu Jiale’s black leather jacket was disheveled, the collar of his sweater underneath was crooked, and his glasses were nowhere to be seen. His face even had a few dirt smudges, with one resembling a shoeprint.

He unceremoniously replied, “Ask your friend…”

Han Jiangque joined in, “Xu Jiale, it’s all clearly written in the report. What exactly did you do to Xiaoyu during his heat?”

Xu Jiale was already a powder keg, and upon hearing this question, he exploded again, “You saw everything and you still need to ask?”

“You!”

The two alphas once again locked eyes in anger.

Han Jiangque’s face turned pale, and he clenched his fists, wanting to charge forward.

“Han Jiangque!?”

Fu Xiaoyu suddenly became angry, sitting upright and speaking sternly.

The sudden assertiveness in Fu Xiaoyu’s voice confused Han Jiangque, and he released his clenched fists. He glanced back at Fu Xiaoyu.

Perhaps this awkward glance made Fu Xiaoyu feel a bit apologetic, so he immediately lowered his voice and said seriously, “It was my choice..”

“What?” Han Jiangque’s expression was suddenly blank.

Wen Ke, on the other hand, leaned against the wall, taking a deep breath.

This was indeed an embarrassing scene.

But since the words were already spoken, Fu Xiaoyu immediately controlled his emotions, and with a serious tone, continued, “My heat suddenly started early. Yesterday, I asked Xu Jiale for help.”

“You…” Han Jiangque was at a loss in the room, feeling puzzled by the situation. He turned and walked into the restroom in the hospital room to wash his hands, avoiding Fu Xiaoyu and Xu Jiale.

Xu Jiale then walked up to Fu Xiaoyu by the hospital bed and said, as if nothing had happened, “I’m staying here overnight tonight, but I need to go home first to get a spare pair of glasses. You wait for me. Is there anything you’d like to eat?”

Fu Xiaoyu didn’t respond right away. Instead, he set the orange aside and wiped the dirt off Xu Jiale’s face with a tissue, being concerned that he might leave with dirt smudges on his face. After ensuring Xu Jiale’s face was clean, he whispered to him, “I’d like some fruit. I’m not a fan of oranges, but I’d like something else.”

“Okay…”

“And there aren’t many toiletries in the hospital room. I want to take a shower later, so you need to bring shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, and oh, don’t forget the facial cleansing set I used yesterday.”

Fu Xiaoyu’s clean-freak nature resurfaced, and he was meticulous even though he was only staying for one night. He counted, “And dental hygiene supplies…”

“You’re so demanding…” Xu Jiale couldn’t help but reprimand him, then paused for a moment before saying in a low voice, “I asked what you wanted to eat.”

He said this as he buried Fu Xiaoyu’s head in his arms, perhaps because Wen Ke was present, his movements were rather hasty, accompanied by a bit of rudeness. Fu Xiaoyu, embraced by him, felt his body go soft.

For a moment, he felt like he was starving, and that’s why he couldn’t help making a faint “gurgle” sound in his throat to Xu Jiale.

Even he himself couldn’t quite explain what that sound was. It seemed like a sound he had developed in front of Xu Jiale.

“Do you want crab claws too?” Xu Jiale asked.

“Yes,” he said, “and sugar-free cola.”

“Okay, got it and if you need anything else, call me.”

Xu Jiale briefly instructed and then stood up, ready to leave. However, as soon as he picked up the car keys from the bedside table, he immediately realized something and threw the keys back with some annoyance. “Damn it, everything looks so blurry. I’ll take a cab.”

As Xu Jiale left, Han Jiangque came out of the bathroom immediately. He was still somewhat discontent, but before he could say anything to Fu Xiaoyu, he was interrupted by Wen Ke.

“Han Jiangque, I suddenly have a craving for milk tea. Can you buy me a cup? Xiaoyu, do you want one too?”

“Yes,” Fu Xiaoyu nodded without hesitation. They didn’t need to exchange glances; they understood each other perfectly.

Wen Ke wanted to keep Han Jiangque away, and at the same time, Fu Xiaoyu had a similar intention.

Han Jiangque didn’t seem to realize it. Upon hearing that both of them wanted milk tea, he quickly nodded and said, “I’ll go buy it. Do you want it with less sugar? Xiao Ke, would you like some taro balls added?”

The sentence he added afterward made Fu Xiaoyu look at Han Jiangque in a new light. He didn’t expect that Han Jiangque and Wen Ke, after being together, would be so attentive to such details.

After this thought lingered in his mind for a while, he held the orange and fell into a momentary daze.

He suddenly realized that he had changed.

Tonight, when he saw Han Jiangque and Wen Ke being affectionate, it felt like watching two old friends together. He felt a faint sense of warmth, and beyond that, there was no stirring of emotions within him.

It was as if he had truly become a bystander in the lives of Han Jiangque and Wen Ke.

He didn’t have time to contemplate what this transformation meant, and his thoughts returned to the present. He had more important matters to discuss with Wen Ke.

“Wen Ke, that day at University B—why did you suddenly have a stomachache? Did the doctor say anything after the examination?”

Fu Xiaoyu sat up straight on the hospital bed, looking somewhat serious.

“I’m fine; I just didn’t get enough rest,” Wen Ke came over and sat on the edge of the bed, looking concerned. With a worried expression, he asked, “What about you? Why did you suddenly go into heat like that? If you had a premonition that something was amiss, you wouldn’t have gone to University B, right?”

Amidst the entire tangle between Han Jiangque and Xu Jiale, Wen Ke had remained mostly silent. He had been waiting for a chance to talk privately with Fu Xiaoyu after Han Jiangque had been temporarily occupied.

As they got closer to each other, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly noticed that the color of Wen Ke’s irises was very similar to his own, a light brown shade. Indeed, he and Wen Ke seemed to share some kind of unspoken understanding, not just about keeping Han Jiangque away but also about their keen observations.

In reality, during a heat, many things couldn’t be thoroughly scrutinized. In the past few days, Fu Xiaoyu had been dominated by his physiological desires, leaving him with little time for focused thinking. It was only after the doctor administered an injection to forcibly end his heat that he had regained his usual composure and carefully reviewed the events.

Many anomalies could only be detected by omegas because of their heightened sensitivity..

Are there any disturbances during the heat? Yes, there are indeed some, but these are usually due to weak pheromones and result in long-term issues.

However, for an A-level omega to suddenly go into heat without any awareness is actually very strange.

Fu Xiaoyu spoke in a hushed tone, “Yes, Wen Ke, I’ve never experienced it this intensely. I had to see a doctor this time because it was too severe. These past two days, I’ve been extremely needy… almost non-stop. So, Xu Jiale isn’t to blame.”

He paused for a moment, even though he tried to remain composed. “This situation is so rare that even the doctor found it unusual. However, after an examination, they didn’t find anything out of the ordinary, so they decided to observe me in the hospital for a day. It’s clear that even the doctor found it suspicious.”

Wen Ke’s expression turned solemn. He furrowed his brow and contemplated for a long time before suddenly freezing.

After a while, he said, “Xiaoyu, that day… Zhuo Yuan came to University B. When I left for the hospital, he even cornered me in the parking lot.”

The mention of Zhuo Yuan’s name turned Wen Ke’s face pale, and his fingers trembled as he held Fu Xiaoyu’s hand. “Xiaoyu…”

Wen Ke looked deeply concerned, and with a hoarse voice, said, “You rest well for now. I’ll start investigating Zhuo Yuan tomorrow on my own, and I’ll definitely find out what’s going on. Don’t worry.”

During this time, Han Jiangque’s relentless quest for revenge against Zhuo Yuan had made his name an unpleasant symbol for everyone.

Of course, Fu Xiaoyu thought Zhuo Yuan was dangerous, but he couldn’t yet connect all the dots.

He looked at Wen Ke’s pale face, gently squeezed Wen Ke’s hand, and then let go. On the back of this Wen Ke’s hand was a plaster from the injection, making him appear even more haggard.

“okay, you look into it first.”

Fu Xiaoyu’s tone was steady, enunciating each word clearly, “But don’t tell Han Jiangque. These are just unfounded suspicions, and it might even be a misunderstanding. But for now, any involvement with Zhuo Yuan would prevent Han Jiangque from making a calm judgment. Do you understand what I mean?”

“I understand,” Wen Ke raised his head, and although there was still intense worry in his eyes, in a moment, he formed an alliance with Fu Xiaoyu, “I’ll investigate in secret, and as soon as there’s any news, I’ll contact you privately.”

At that moment, Han Jiangque, who had gone out to buy milk tea, returned. The cold wind had reddened his ears, and he handed the milk tea to Wen Ke and placed Fu Xiaoyu’s cup on the bedside. Wen Ke, though still showing signs of concern, naturally held Han Jiangque’s cold hand and rubbed it to warm it.

“Take a sip first, warm up,” Wen Ke said.

In the eyes of Wen Ke, this silly alpha should be quite adorable, right?

At that moment, Fu Xiaoyu found himself getting distracted once again.

He was aware of Han Jiangque’s hidden ailment; that alpha indeed had a problem with his mind. This wasn’t an insult. So, many times, although he felt angry, he could tolerate the Han Jiangque’s impulsiveness, which made Han Jiangque seem less like an adult alpha.

But Wen Ke, who knew nothing about this hidden ailment, could still naturally and gently tolerate him.

That was the moment Fu Xiaoyu found himself unexpectedly touched.

For so many years, he had rarely thought about this issue, but only today did he realize—

He tolerated Han Jiangque out of helplessness and exhaustion, based on rational considerations, and on the foundation of adult friendship.

But it was definitely not built on endless love.

He truly had never loved Han Jiangque.

The moment he clearly confirmed this, Fu Xiaoyu secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He found it hard to believe, but in that moment, he thought that if this heat helped him realize this fact, he wouldn’t even feel particularly sad—

He simply felt an unprecedented sense of ease.
