Evil Love Appears chapter 26
The food stall prepared the dishes quickly. Xu Jiale placed an order over the phone, took a quick shower, and within half an hour, the doorbell rang.
Xu Jiale returned with two large bags, and he unpacked the food containers, placing them on the coffee table in front of the sofa. There was a pound of drunken crab claws, three pounds of garlic crayfish, and a box of refreshing lettuce. As for the main dish, he ordered a steaming hot mushroom and chicken congee for Fu Xiaoyu.
The spread on the table was a feast for the senses, featuring a delightful mix of colors, scents, and flavors.
However, the crayfish wasn’t ordered with an overly spicy or greasy flavor, as Xu Jiale was concerned about Fu Xiaoyu’s heat cycle.
Fu Xiaoyu’s gaze remained fixed on Xu Jiale as he unpacked the dishes.
After Xu Jiale finished unloading everything, he went to the kitchen and returned with two glass cups. However, in the brief moment it took him to fetch the glasses, a crayfish had already landed conspicuously on the table.
Fu Xiaoyu, seated by the coffee table, was blowing on his own fingers, as if casually, but when he saw Xu Jiale returning, he lowered his hand as though nothing had happened.
He had evidently been injured by the freshly cooked crayfish shell.
Despite this, Fu Xiaoyu was still eager.
With a hint of amusement on his lips, Xu Jiale didn’t seem surprised by the sight.
He sat down beside Fu Xiaoyu, moved the coffee table closer for more space.
“Meow…”
Xia’an meowed suddenly, hopped down from the sofa, circled around the two, and, after finding there was no space in Xu Jiale’s lap, settled down by his feet.
Xia’an was getting older and was always well-fed, so it didn’t misbehave while its owner was eating, unlike some other cats.
Ready to eat, they began peeling the crayfish.
Xu Jiale was indeed worthy of being called the “Master of Shell-Peeling.” He put on plastic gloves and expertly twisted off the crayfish heads, removed the shells, and then skillfully cleaned them before blowing on the meat to cool it slightly. Only then did he feed the crayfish meat to Fu Xiaoyu.
The moment Fu Xiaoyu tasted the garlicky crayfish meat, he couldn’t resist grabbing a glass of sugar-free cola and took a big sip. He nearly belched with satisfaction.
For years, his strict self-control had made him almost feel a sense of gratitude—
The crayfish was too delicious, and the cola was too refreshing.
One by one, they peeled the crayfish.
Even though Xu Jiale was an expert at peeling crayfish, he couldn’t match Fu Xiaoyu’s speed as he devoured them with relish.
When Fu Xiaoyu had eaten about half of the crayfish, Xu Jiale noticed that he didn’t touch the cold dishes or congee and even had to take off his gloves to open the congee container. He then passed it to Fu Xiaoyu.
Xu Jiale was genuinely concerned, but Fu Xiaoyu just reluctantly had a few spoonfuls of congee before putting his hands down, puffing out his cheeks like a cat, and looking up at Xu Jiale.
Cleaning up the dishes, Xu Jiale continued to observe Fu Xiaoyu. Fu Xiaoyu was indulging himself and knew he shouldn’t continue like this, theoretically or out of politeness.
But it was the first time in his life that he felt such overwhelming happiness.
Being held by an alpha and taken care of in such detail, Fu Xiaoyu felt a tremor of joy throughout his body.
Being an omega meant he could be loved like this.
In one night, he felt like Xu Jiale had thoroughly spoiled him.
Finally, when Xu Jiale put down the disposable chopsticks, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly turned around and straddled Xu Jiale’s lap.
Fu Xiaoyu’s sudden initiative made Xu Jiale pause for a moment. The two of them sat very close and stared at each other.
Fu Xiaoyu gazed intently at Xu Jiale, inched his lips forward, but then hesitated and pulled back slightly, feeling a bit shy.
In that instant, Xu Jiale inexplicably felt a touch of nervousness.
Was Fu Xiaoyu… trying to kiss him?
In the next moment, Xu Jiale realized that his guess wasn’t wrong.
Fu Xiaoyu wrapped his arms around Xu Jiale’s neck and, somewhat awkwardly but persistently, tried to kiss him.
Whether it could be called a kiss or a bite was debatable, but either way, he bit Xu Jiale’s lips as if he were nibbling them.
His lips tasted fishy, with a slight tang of crayfish.
Sensually speaking, it shouldn’t have been a pleasant kiss.
But the flushed expression on Fu Xiaoyu’s face, the shining eyes, and the radiant happiness made it worthwhile.
Xu Jiale couldn’t resist and slightly opened his mouth, allowing Fu Xiaoyu’s tongue to tentatively, yet eagerly, enter his mouth.
After some time, Fu Xiaoyu finally let go of him.
Seemingly a little more level-headed, he looked somewhat embarrassed, moved back slightly, but still couldn’t resist holding onto Xu Jiale’s neck.
“Is this a reward kiss?” Xu Jiale playfully asked, as if nothing unusual had happened.
But secretly, he breathed a sigh of relief. The kiss had been intense, and at one point, he didn’t feel like Fu Xiaoyu was a little cat perched on him; it was more like a little lion, using its claws to hold him down. He had felt a little overwhelmed at that moment.
…
After dinner, it was already late at night.
Fu Xiaoyu had been restless and was beginning to yawn. Xu Jiale gave him a set of unopened facial care products intended for alphas, as they were designed for sensitive skin during seasonal transitions, which Fu Xiaoyu found suitable.
“Xu Jiale, does Xia’an really scratch people?” Fu Xiaoyu asked as he scrutinized himself in the mirror while washing his face.
“She used to scratch Jin Chu multiple times before. They’ve never gotten along. But I think Xia’an is fine with you. I’ll bring her over in a bit, and you can try touching her.”
“Really?” Fu Xiaoyu’s eyes lit up.
“Yep.”
While having this somewhat aimless conversation, Xu Jiale was opening cabinets in the bathroom. It was only when he opened the last cabinet against the wall that he froze for a moment.
Inside were a large and small, brand-new Philips electric toothbrush.
After New Year’s, Jin Chu had mentioned that he’d come to B City with Nanyi the following week to visit him, among other things. Xu Jiale had thought about it and bought new electric toothbrushes for them, which he placed together.
However, their visit had been postponed due to other commitments on Jin Chu’s end, and Xu Jiale had left the toothbrushes untouched ever since.
Fu Xiaoyu also noticed the two toothbrushes, one blue and one pink, which was a children’s model. He could guess who the pink one was for.
“Xu Jiale, do you…”
Fu Xiaoyu paused for a moment and asked softly, “Are you still waiting for them?”
This question could be taken in a few different ways, and Xu Jiale, upon turning to look at Fu Xiaoyu, appeared slightly displeased and didn’t answer.
Fu Xiaoyu quickly realized that Xu Jiale had misunderstood his question.
Yet, in this moment, he even thought of the real question he wanted to ask:
“Xu Jiale, are you still waiting for Jin Chu?”
This question remained unanswered, leaving him feeling heartbroken.
Strange emotions overwhelmed him, making Fu Xiaoyu understand that he was acting tactless but couldn’t help but continue:
“Last time at Wen Ke’s house, you and Wen Ke said that he had already found someone else, right? He even…”
He remembered Jin Chu telling Xu Jiale that he had hooked up with the skiing instructor but he wasn’t happy, and he became somewhat uncontrollably angry:
“Xu Jiale, if things are already like this, are you still going to continue waiting?”
With a loud bang, Xu Jiale forcefully closed the cabinet door. He paused for a few seconds before saying word by word:
“Fu Xiaoyu, this is my private matter.”
“Being with you through your heat is because you found me and chose me.”
“I’ve accepted it, but it doesn’t mean that our relationship will change after this heat. My relationship with Jin Chu is my private matter. So, I hope you won’t cross boundaries. Can you do that?”
Xu Jiale’s expression was very calm.
But in this moment, that calmness itself seemed to be a form of coldness.
Fu Xiaoyu held the toothbrush Xu Jiale had just found for him and felt as if a whip had struck his self-esteem mercilessly.
Yet, he also knew that Xu Jiale wasn’t wrong; every word he said was accurate. He had indeed crossed a line.
“I can.”
He struggled to control himself and answered with a lowered head.
