Evil Love Appears

Evil Love Appears chapter 2

Xu Jiale knew what these guys were up to when they came over to where he was for no reason.

He understood the mindset of the Alphas very well.

Within a hundred miles, if there was the scent of an A-grade Omega, all Alphas, whether married or unmarried, would instinctively sense it. To be honest, Alphas were like canines among humans.

Moreover, when Alphas got gossipy, they were quite clumsy. Xu Jiale could easily imagine how the situation had developed.

Daning came over to deliver a bottle of water, then went back to happily tell Amon: “The person talking to Xu ge is a beautiful Omega, and the scent is delightful.”

So, Amon said, “Let me take a look.”

He then sent a bottle of water.

Later, Amon went back and told Ningzi: “The person talking to Xu ge is a beautiful Omega, and the scent is delightful.”

Ningzi said, “I want to see too.”

So, he sent another bottle of water.

This went on, in a loop, until everyone had seen what Fu Xiaoyu looked like.

It was ridiculous.

Xu Jiale thought this way, partly because these people didn’t know how unlikable Fu Xiaoyu’s personality was, and also because… he couldn’t be that good-looking, could he?

Fu Xiaoyu happened to be focused on the MacBook screen in front of him at this moment, so Xu Jiale took the opportunity to observe for a while.

Actually, Xu Jiale often observed Fu Xiaoyu.

But it was absolutely not for any strange reasons. As a PhD student in anthropology, covert observation was his inherent skill.

He liked to observe various Omega prototypes, their clothing, their way of speaking, their appearance—observation was a way to understand life.

Although Fu Xiaoyu was relatively tall among Omegas, he still retained a hint of fragility because of his slender build. His head was small, and Xu Jiale even felt that his face might be only as big as his palm.

In real life, this kind of model-like figure required strict management and diet restrictions. Xu Jiale could almost imagine the disgusted expression on this guy’s face when he saw carbohydrates.

“I think, starting from the third page, there are a lot of things that need to be adjusted.”

Xu Jiale was in the middle of his observation when Fu Xiaoyu suddenly looked up at him.

This was originally a slightly awkward moment, but Xu Jiale, an experienced observer, was not nervous at all. He didn’t hastily avert his gaze and calmly said, “Please go on.”

“I think questions 38 to 42 are too hectic, can they be removed?”

“You can’t remove them,” Xu Jiale said.

“Why?” Fu Xiaoyu asked seriously.

Actually, Fu Xiaoyu’s facial features were somewhat cat-like, with small mouths and noses, and a pair of large cat-like eyes. The lines at the corners of the eyes were round and not sharp, resembling a cat’s. His eyes were naturally wide apart, and the color of his brown irises was quite light. In fact, such eyes were not inherently fierce.

But Fu Xiaoyu was clearly aware of the shortcomings of his facial features. He had carefully groomed his eyebrows, giving them a beautiful and sharp appearance, coupled with the intentionally applied style of cold and distant fragrance to mask his scent.

“Why?”

He asked again, leaning forward with a tense expression, and his eyes became very intense when they stared at Xu Jiale: “Any product manager, when they see such bloated content, would make the same demand. Are you saying you can’t cooperate?”

In fact, all the elites in the workplace needed to have this kind of oppressive demeanor when speaking. When they made a demand, they only wanted to hear one answer:

It can be done.

But Xu Jiale hated this kind of pressure.

He was rarely unkind to Omegas, but Fu Xiaoyu was an exception—

Fu Xiaoyu reminded him of the feeling he had when he faced his strong and shrewd Omega father when he was a child.

“Fu Xiaoyu, I am your partner, not your assistant. Whether I should cooperate with you depends on my personal…”

He said halfway and suddenly moved his nose sensitively.

Under the cold fragrance of the perfume deliberately used by Fu Xiaoyu to conceal his pheromone scent, he seemed to have caught an extremely sweet and nauseating scent.

It was probably the scent of some flower he didn’t know, but because it was so overpowering all of a sudden, it even had a slightly fishy note to it.

Xu Jiale discreetly moved his body back a bit, intentionally creating distance between himself and Fu Xiaoyu.

After all, he had dated several Omegas before and understood very well what this scent meant. Because he understood it, he found it even more unbelievable—

“Are you about to go into heat soon?” Xu Jiale furrowed his brows and suddenly lowered his voice to ask.

Fu Xiaoyu was clearly startled and moved back as well, immediately and deliberately pulling his wrist back.

When he pulled back, it made Xu Jiale pay even more attention.

Fu Xiaoyu was wearing a pink silk shirt, and the cufflinks were carefully matched with rose gold. However, at some point, he had accidentally unbuttoned two buttons, revealing his delicate wrist.

His skin was very fair, and the few small needle marks on it were even more conspicuous.

“No, it’s about to end,” Fu Xiaoyu replied, of course knowing that Xu Jiale had noticed. He lowered his head and fastened the cufflinks on his sleeve properly, then fell silent.

“You’ve been taking suppressants quite frequently,” Xu Jiale said. He didn’t expect Fu Xiaoyu to respond to this statement. He continued, “During your heat cycle, whether it’s about to start or about to end, you shouldn’t be working.”

“Sorry,” Fu Xiaoyu lifted his head and glanced at Xu Jiale calmly. “but I’m a high-ranking Omega; I can control myself. Usually, even on the last day, I take a double dose, and it’s enough to return to normal work. I also applied a lot of specialized cologne earlier today. But there was a minor fluctuation just now that seemed to affect you. I apologize.”

It was common knowledge that Omegas in their heat cycle should not appear in social or work settings, as the pheromones released during heat could severely disrupt Alphas, which was considered impolite behavior. Even though he came out for work, Fu Xiaoyu still felt the need to apologize to Xu Jiale.

Listening to this, Xu Jiale couldn’t help but mutter, “I mean, Fu Xiaoyu, don’t let others know the exact timing of your heat cycle; it’s not safe. And…”

He pushed up his glasses and looked at Fu Xiaoyu’s wrist again. “Don’t take double doses; it’s not good for your health.”

Fu Xiaoyu remained silent. The tension from their earlier confrontation still lingered, and this incident had added a touch of awkwardness.

Xu Jiale turned to look at the basketball court and decided to shut down his laptop. “Alright, it’s almost dinner time, and I’m getting hungry. Everyone here is an Alpha, so you shouldn’t stay. How about I treat you to a meal?”

Fu Xiaoyu stood up as well, his expression somewhat complicated. However, he shook his head and said, “I’m not hungry.”

“Alright, suit yourself,” Xu Jiale responded.

Xu Jiale turned and looked at Fu Xiaoyu for a moment, rolling his eyes in his mind. Perhaps it was because Omegas during heat usually went on diets that made him a bit annoyed.

He didn’t pay any more attention to Fu Xiaoyu and instead joined his group of friends.

He had been working overtime while they had already finished their game. Xu Jiale played basketball on the court for a while, casually made a couple of three-pointers, and then put his arm around Amon and Ningzi’s shoulders. The group walked out together. “Let’s go, have hot pot.”

When the group arrived at the parking lot, it was dusk.

Xu Jiale turned to look at the gradually setting sun, and as the night fell and the sky turned various shades of blue, he suddenly felt a familiar sense of melancholy. He lowered his head and lit a cigarette, standing alone by a garbage can for a while.

Since returning to City B, he hadn’t had dinner alone much, perhaps because he had an inherent fear of dusk.

“Hey.”

Suddenly, someone called out to him. Xu Jiale walked over and saw a black Lamborghini sports car parked next to his own. In the eyes of ordinary people, anyone who could drive this kind of car was undoubtedly wealthy and powerful.

Fu Xiaoyu drove this sports car wherever he went, so every time Xu Jiale saw it downstairs in the office building, he couldn’t help but find it somewhat amusing. He could probably guess that this was Fu Xiaoyu’s only car, even if it wasn’t, it was the only luxury car he could flaunt.

Fu Xiaoyu’s car, along with his shirts and cufflinks worth thousands of dollars, exuded an aura of him striving to touch the lifestyle of a higher class with all his might. This effort showed in everything he had, which was why it didn’t look good.

While he was thinking this, Xu Jiale realized he was being a bit harsh, but he didn’t really care.

From childhood to adulthood, he was very adept at dealing with the negative aspects of human nature within himself. As a result, he always felt comfortable in social situations.

At this moment, Fu Xiaoyu had just hurriedly come down from his car, apparently having gone back to fetch something. His face looked a bit pale, and when he saw Xu Jiale, he quietly asked, “What are you having?”

Xu Jiale was slightly surprised; he hadn’t expected Fu Xiaoyu to change his mind about having dinner with him.

The rest of the Alphas noticed, but they remained quiet, waiting for Xu Jiale’s response, whether he would join them or go with Fu Xiaoyu.

In fact, these were all his buddies, and Xu Jiale didn’t really care if he stood them up.

However, Fu Xiaoyu had just rejected him, and now he was running over to ask what they were eating. Xu Jiale suddenly felt a sense of rebellion. He casually threw his cigarette into the nearby trash can and calmly said, “I made plans to have hot pot with my buddies. How about another time?”

He didn’t look at Fu Xiaoyu’s reaction and opened his car door, driving away slowly. Amon and Ningzi were with him in the car, discussing who had scored the most points during the game.

Night had officially fallen, and the parking lot’s lights had all been turned on, providing clear visibility. Inside the car, there was a lively atmosphere. Through the car window, Xu Jiale saw Fu Xiaoyu standing alone next to his sports car. His eyes were round, and his expression, rather than appearing tired, seemed… lonely.

He actually liked Omegas with large eyes. Perhaps it was because he had inherited the long, narrow eyes from the Xu family’s bloodline, so he had an inherent desire for genes associated with large eyes.

Fu Xiaoyu was unaware that he was being watched. He lowered his head and threw something into the trash can.

Although it was just a brief moment of movement, Xu Jiale keenly noticed what Fu Xiaoyu was holding in his hand—a small syringe.

Fu Xiaoyu had gone back to his car to take another dose of suppressants before coming out to have dinner with him.

Realizing this, Xu Jiale’s heart suddenly felt complicated.
