Evil Love Appears chapter 132
Extra chapter 2: Snitching
Fu Xiaoyu couldn’t believe it, Xu Jiale really didn’t carry him. So he had to work hard to maintain a sour expression as he got into the passenger seat of the Bentley. He stayed silent intentionally until they left the northern part of the city.
After a while, as they were about to get onto the highway, Xu Jiale produced a thermos from somewhere and handed it to him.
Fu Xiaoyu accepted it, took a sip, and found it pleasantly cool and slightly tangy. It tasted good, so he took another sip. “What is this?” he couldn’t help but ask.
“I made you celery and apple juice before I left,” Xu Jiale said as he drove, then paused. Fu Xiaoyu looked at him. “Hmm?”
In his mind, Fu Xiaoyu urged him on: “And then, what’s next?”
“Oh, I added some raspberries to it. How does it taste?” Xu Jiale smiled and asked.
Fu Xiaoyu fell silent.
To say that Xu Jiale didn’t try to appease him wasn’t entirely true. But the problem was that he was doing it in a way that felt like he was petting his head through a blanket, making him feel restless and irritated. He couldn’t find a reason to be angry, so he had to bottle it up.
Finally, he mumbled, “It’s okay.”
By the time they reached Shuncheng, it was already afternoon. Given Fu Jing’s personality, he was probably watching the road and waiting for them by the window.
As soon as Xu Jiale parked the car, Fu Jing had already come running down in his slippers.
Although Fu Jing was staying at home, he had clearly dressed up, wearing a noticeable LV-patterned sweater over his pajamas.
“Welcome.”
As soon as he came downstairs, he didn’t care about anything else and immediately took Xia’an from the bag.
“Baby, oh, my baby,” Fu Jing patted Xia’an’s head, saying, “You’ve gained a bit of weight since last time. A bit heavier is better.”
Xia’an was no stranger to Fu Jing’s affection and simply nestled lazily in Fu Jing’s arms, letting out a soft meow.
“Xiaoyu, let your dad have a look.”
Fu Jing looked at his son with an undisguised smile in his eyes, evaluating him from head to toe. Finally, he nodded in satisfaction and said, “Looking good, a bit plumper than last time.”
“Um, Dad.”
In Fu Jing’s eyes, whether you were eating well or not was an absolute indicator of life quality. Therefore, whether it was people or cats, the first thing he looked at was whether they had gained weight or not.
To be honest, Fu Xiaoyu wasn’t too thrilled to hear this praise.
But in any case, Fu Jing, who was satisfied with his son’s slight weight gain, turned to look at the Alpha, who was taking things out of the trunk, and said, “Xiao Xu, you always bring so much stuff to us, more than we can eat or use.”
“Yes, Uncle.”
Xu Jiale closed the trunk and turned back to Fu Jing. With a heavy bag in one hand, he walked alongside Fu Xiaoyu into the house, continuing with a smile, “I just got back from the U.S. this time, so next time I promise not to bring so much.”
“You say that every time, but you never remember,” Fu Jing complained, chasing after them. “Last time, you brought so much food. Your aunt and I are getting old, and we can’t finish it all.”
Every time Xu Jiale came, he had to say this line sincerely, with a hint of genuine complaint.
Xu Jiale did indeed promise every time, but he always brought plenty of bags and packages without fail. From health supplements, fresh groceries, and clothing to canned snacks and toys for the chubby cat, he made sure everything was well-stocked.
“Dad!”
Fu Xiaoyu couldn’t help but frown.
He could understand Fu Jing; Xu Jiale had already posted pictures of what he brought to Fu Jing a few times on his social media, so he was clearly pleased with it. In his mind, he was quite happy about it, but he had to complain out loud. It was a bit like wanting someone to flatter him, coddle him, and give him face.
In a way, they were somewhat alike, father and son.
But Xu Jiale could even cajole his dad. Why couldn’t he do the same for him?
Thinking about this, Fu Xiaoyu became particularly frustrated.
His face was already somewhat sour, but now his expression grew fierce. He scolded Fu Jing so much that he obediently stayed quiet for a while.
…
As soon as they entered the house, the aroma of hotpot greeted them. The pot was just simmering, and the tomato broth was bubbling. A variety of fresh vegetables were neatly arranged on the table, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
After Xu Jiale put away the things he brought, he went to help Tang Ning open a bottle of red wine.
Fu Xiaoyu, on the other hand, didn’t say much apart from exchanging a few words with Tang Ning. Later, he sat by the table and checked his DingTalk messages on his phone.
Fu Jing looked at Xu Jiale, then at Fu Xiaoyu. After glancing around for a while, he suddenly tugged at Fu Xiaoyu’s sleeve. “Come on, help me in the kitchen.”
Fu Xiaoyu was taken aback for a moment but then stood up and followed.
“Try this,” Fu Jing said as they reached the kitchen, picking the largest cherry from the sink, and handing it to Fu Xiaoyu. “Your aunt bought it this morning, and it’s especially sweet.”
Fu Xiaoyu wasn’t paying much attention to this, but he took a bite and nodded, “Hmm, it’s sweet.”
“Xiaoyu, are you two… okay?” Fu Jing asked, looking at him with a slightly nervous expression as he kept an eye on him eating.
“What do you mean?”
“You both seem to be talking less, and you, you look down,” Fu Jing was really worried.
Fu Jing was genuinely concerned. When Fu Xiaoyu and Xu Jiale had reconciled, he was initially furious and nearly exploded. He chased Xu Jiale all the way to B City, grabbed the Alpha by the collar, and scolded him mercilessly at the front door. He didn’t care about Xu Jiale’s expensive gifts, background, or the Bentley he had brought as peace offerings.
Fu Jing was both angry and upset, scolding his son, scolding Xu Jiale, then secretly wiping away tears. He might appear fierce, but deep down, he was worried that Fu Xiaoyu might suddenly sever ties with him again.
In the end, he could only tell himself that he’d give Xu Jiale another chance, observe more, and pretend that he still had some say in the matter.
But to his surprise, during this observation period and while giving another chance, something unexpected happened. He realized that he genuinely liked Xu Jiale.
On one hand, after resolving the issues related to his previous marriage and child, the relationship between Xu Jiale and Fu Xiaoyu had indeed become more stable. Xu Jiale took good care of Fu Xiaoyu, and he seemed genuinely invested in their relationship.
In trivial matters, Xu Jiale was considerate. When they moved to a new house before the Chinese New Year, Xu Jiale actively managed the renovation. When Tang Ning had back pain, he found a specialist in B City for consultation and even personally drove her. Although Fu Jing knew he wasn’t very close to his own son and that his son had a stubborn personality, he felt that they had grown apart because of his face-saving excuses. He didn’t call, fearing the long-awaited call would make him angry and lead to another argument with Fu Xiaoyu.
But with Xu Jiale in the picture, things were different. The four of them had a WeChat group. Fu Jing typed slowly but kept sending pictures into the group – pictures of Da Pang, Tang Ning, and himself.
Fu Xiaoyu didn’t respond much, but Xu Jiale always replied. He sent pictures of Xia’an, pictures of Fu Xiaoyu, and even photos of the delicious dishes he had made.
Gradually, Fu Jing got used to calling Xu Jiale. He called him for big issues, small issues, or just when he missed his son. Xu Jiale always had a cheerful demeanor. Fu Jing didn’t feel pressured calling him, and Xu Jiale never revealed the nature of their conversations. However, during their chats, Xu Jiale often subtly turned the video toward Fu Xiaoyu. He would then inform Fu Jing in private messages that Fu Xiaoyu was in a meeting, at the gym, or busy with work, saying, “I’ll ask him to chat with you once he’s free.” Those few words were enough to satisfy Fu Jing.
In short, Fu Jing was quite content with this Alpha. He was genuinely looking forward to their well-being. When a son’s Alpha pleased his father, the emotional distance between them shortened significantly, making them seem like a close-knit family.
Just at this moment, Fu Jing couldn’t help but remember the faint bruises at the corners of Xu Jiale’s eyes and inquired further, “What about Xu Jiale? What happened to the corner of his eyes? It looks like he’s been hit. Did you ask him about it?”
“I… I didn’t ask,” Fu Xiaoyu replied, his voice firm, “I’m the one who hit him.”
“What?!” Fu Jing nearly jumped from his seat, asking angrily, “Why did you hit him?”
Fu Xiaoyu felt upset. While he knew he was being unreasonable, he couldn’t help but be irked by Fu Jing’s sudden change in concern. Fu Jing’s words seemed to suggest that it was his fault.
Normally, Fu Xiaoyu never thought about the dynamics of his relationship with his father. It was never a matter he had to consider.
However, during this slightly awkward moment, Fu Xiaoyu began to care. He felt a pang of jealousy when he saw how crafty Xu Jiale was, how he managed to win over Fu Jing, and how his father was showing concern for the Alpha. It made Fu Xiaoyu feel like he was competing against Xu Jiale.
This sudden jealousy was something he couldn’t ignore.
“Why don’t you ask me why I hit him?” Fu Xiaoyu said stubbornly, feeling wronged.
Fu Xiaoyu made this statement with righteous indignation, and it momentarily left Fu Jing at a loss for words. Fu Jing appeared somewhat dejected, but not entirely so. While this statement had shifted his concern, he was still somewhat annoyed as he mumbled, “Regardless of the reason, you shouldn’t hit someone. What did he do?”
He ended his statement with a slightly stern tone.
“It’s nothing, really,” Fu Xiaoyu hastily added.
The truth was, Xu Jiale’s eye bruise was the result of a playful brawl between them at Han Jiangque’s gym the previous night. It had no relation to their recent petty disagreement.
However, Fu Xiaoyu knew he was playing with fire, saying something he shouldn’t, but he couldn’t back down now. It was too late.
Fu Xiaoyu then picked a cherry from the sink, washed it, and casually said, “You should go and ask him yourself.”
After saying this, he walked out of the kitchen with a seemingly nonchalant but somewhat guilty stride.
He had placed an unjust blame on Xu Jiale.
On one hand, Fu Xiaoyu was surprised by his own immaturity, but on the other hand, he felt a sense of satisfaction, even to the point where he couldn’t help but admit that, after this sudden realization, he felt a bit triumphant.
Xu Jiale, you’re not going to pamper me, huh? Now you’re in trouble. My dad is coming!
The ignorant fox was still unaware of the approaching danger!
