Evil Love Appears

Evil Love Appears chapter 117

It was already early in the morning when Xu Jiale went upstairs. He knocked lightly on the door, but Jin Chu was probably still awake, and he quickly opened the door for him.

“Hi,” Jin Chu greeted him, and his eyes suddenly landed on the bandage on Xu Jiale’s arm, prompting him to ask with surprise and concern, “What happened to your hand? Are you injured?”

“It’s nothing,” Xu Jiale replied calmly and quickly, using the most reassuring tone. “I had a minor scrape while riding a motorcycle just now, it’s just a superficial wound, so I went to the hospital to get it bandaged.”

Jin Chu opened his mouth but didn’t press further.

The two of them exchanged glances at the door, both struggling with words.

Finally, Jin Chu whispered, “Nanyi is still asleep. Should we go to the balcony to talk?”

Xu Jiale nodded, and he followed Jin Chu as they walked through the bedroom. He couldn’t help but glance at Nanyi lying on the bed.

As they sat on the rattan chairs on the balcony, Xu Jiale noticed an open can of beer on a small table nearby and glanced at Jin Chu.

“I had a little bit just now,” Jin Chu said.

Sitting next to Xu Jiale, Jin Chu continued, “Jiale…”

He called Xu Jiale’s name but didn’t say anything more. He stared at the night view of the resort outside the balcony, seemingly lost in thought.

“Jin Chu, you said on WeChat that you’re ready to tell Nanyi… Is it true?”

Xu Jiale was familiar with Jin Chu’s occasional absentmindedness, but this time, it was too important for him, and he couldn’t help but interrupt Jin Chu’s wandering thoughts.

This question was of utmost importance to him, and he had to maintain a steady tone.

Jin Chu picked up the beer can and shook it lightly. After finishing the remaining beer in silence, he finally turned to look at Xu Jiale.

“Yes,” he said slowly.

The last sip of beer in the aluminum can always tasted the most bitter. The taste rose from the stomach, spreading on the tongue, like the taste of life.

Jin Chu smiled lightly and said, “Jiale, will you ask me why I suddenly had a change of heart?”

It was a rather clever question.

They locked eyes, and Xu Jiale’s deep eyes behind his alpha lenses held Jin Chu’s gaze. After a couple of seconds, he spoke in a low, deep voice, “Jin Chu, thank you.”

Suddenly, Jin Chu felt his eyes welling up with tears.

“After Nanyi fell asleep, I felt a bit stifled and went downstairs to get some fresh air. I didn’t think much, just followed the music to the swimming pool area. Jiale, I saw you on the stage.”

“I’ve never seen you dance like that before, and… it’s actually quite fun.”

As he said this, he smiled with a hint of bitterness.

A thousand words condensed into a simple phrase: “It’s actually quite fun.”

That evening, when the crowd was enthusiastically surrounding the stage, he stood in a remote corridor below, watching for a long time.

No one noticed him, and Xu Jiale on the stage didn’t either.

Xu Jiale, in a white tank top and stockings, started out clumsy and unsure but gradually danced with increasing enthusiasm, even shamelessly shaking the rabbit tail attached to his behind.

As he watched the alpha he had been with for so many years, memories flooded into his heart like a tidal wave.

When they got married, they were in their early twenties, but Xu Jiale seemed much more mature and responsible than his peers. At the time, he had a strong desire for security, and Xu Jiale was the perfect choice.

For so many years, he thought he fully understood Xu Jiale, and even on the day when he was already convinced that they couldn’t salvage their relationship in the pouring rain, his obsession still made him painfully think: From now on, Xu Jiale would give all his mature protection to Xiaoyu.

But tonight, for the first time, he saw a different side of Xu Jiale.

Childish, crazy, and carefree—Xu Jiale.

They had been together for many years, but he had never seen Xu Jiale truly break free from all constraints and radiate the vitality of life.

In fact, the relationship between Xu Jiale and Fu Xiaoyu had nothing to do with protection and being protected.

They just loved each other purely.

Instead of feeling like a stranger, it felt like there was some jealousy.

Not jealousy of Fu Xiaoyu, but jealousy of Xu Jiale.

When he chose to divorce him initially, deep down, didn’t he secretly dream of the moment when Xu Jiale would fully bloom?

He clearly made the impulsive decision to let go of Xu Jiale to find the feeling of love, but who would have thought that because of this act of letting go, he would ultimately find the person he truly loved, Xu Jiale.

No one knew that at that moment, he stood outside the crowd and silently cried.

Life could be so cruel and bizarre.

Yet, in the midst of the pain, Jin Chu heaved a long sigh.

This was probably the first time he had openly admitted to himself that, yes, life was inherently cruel, and only the brave could find true happiness amidst the chaos.

Xu Jiale had finally found the omega who could make him a true hero.

That’s fine.

And he, no matter how unwilling he felt, no longer wanted to obstruct Xu Jiale’s path to happiness.

Nanyi probably woke up before five o’clock.

He had been tired from kayaking outside yesterday, and after dinner, he had been carried back by Xu Jiale. He had slept for a full eight hours.

Nanyi’s unexpected return to consciousness startled Xu Jiale and Jin Chu when he knocked on the balcony’s glass doors.

The little guy’s face was pressed against the glass, sticking his tongue out and making a funny face at the two of them.

“Nanyi, come here…”

Jin Chu opened the glass door.

“Daddy!”

Nanyi had initially rushed in with excitement, but he suddenly noticed the bandaged right arm on Xu Jiale, and he became anxious. “What happened to you?”

He became concerned and reached out to touch Xu Jiale’s cheek. “Daddy, are you hurt?”

Xu Jiale quickly used his other hand to pull the little one into his arms and whispered, “Daddy is fine. I just had a little accident while riding a motorcycle and scraped my arm.”

“Does it hurt?” Nanyi asked, lifting his head and touching Xu Jiale’s cheek tenderly. “Daddy, be careful.”

Xu Jiale’s eyes welled up with emotion, and just as he was about to speak—

Jin Chu, sitting beside him, suddenly reached out and gently patted Nanyi’s head. “Are you awake now?”

“Yes!”

“In that case…” After getting the child’s response, Jin Chu sat up a bit straighter, exchanged a glance with Xu Jiale, and said softly, “Aiden and Daddy want to talk to you about something, okay?”

This was indeed a rare moment of initiative from Jin Chu, and Xu Jiale was slightly surprised.

Nanyi, still in Xu Jiale’s arms, seemed to sense something from their expressions.

“Okay.”

He hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

Jin Chu took a deep breath, looked into the child’s eyes as he turned towards them, and began slowly, “Your daddy and I, we actually…”

He paused here, struggling to continue.

Xu Jiale gave Jin Chu a brief glance and instinctively held the child a little tighter before taking over, “Nanyi, Daddy and Aiden… we’ve actually been divorced for a year.”

The little one looked at him, but to Xu Jiale’s surprise, there was a little less astonishment and a little more of a grown-up-like melancholy.

“Divorced…”

Nanyi hesitated for a moment. He seemed to be not very familiar with the word, and he repeated it softly. Finally, he lifted his head and asked, “Divorced, like Francis’s parents, right?”

As he said this, his eyes turned slightly red, and there was a hint of tears in his tiny eyes.

Nanyi, trying to hold back tears, had an expression that tugged at Xu Jiale’s heart. Despite all the psychological preparation he had gone through, the pain was still shaking his heart.

Xu Jiale’s voice was hoarse as he said, “Yes, just like that. Sweetheart… I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”

Nanyi broke free from Xu Jiale’s embrace and said softly, “I… I felt it.”

Xu Jiale and Jin Chu couldn’t help but be stunned.

“Francis said that before his parents’ divorce, they rarely played together, they no longer lived in the same room, and they didn’t talk much at home… and then they separated. Now, Francis only has an omega mommy. He said he really misses his alpha daddy, but his mommy doesn’t let him see him often because she says his daddy is a bad person. So at that time, he used to cry a lot.”

Nanyi wiped his eyes with the back of his hand. “Then… you’ve been like this recently. I asked Francis if Daddy and Aiden will also separate. He told me… they will because you no longer love each other.”

Xu Jiale’s heart ached as he clenched his fingers.

In that moment, he realized how arrogant adults could be. They thought their disguises were seamless, but in the eyes of sensitive children, the signals of lack of love were so obvious.

“Daddy, so… do you really not love Aiden anymore?”

Nanyi looked at him with teary eyes.

“I’m sorry.”

Xu Jiale crouched down, looking into Nanyi’s eyes. He knew this was a question he had to confront, but facing his beloved child with tears was indescribably painful as a father.

But he had made up his mind to be honest, to not evade.

“Daddy doesn’t love Aiden anymore.”

Xu Jiale held Nanyi’s little hand, repeatedly caressing it. “I’m sorry, my love, let me explain…”

Xu Jiale didn’t mention who had initiated the divorce because it didn’t matter at this moment.

Because he suddenly realized how important it was to be united with Jin Chu in front of the child.

For little Nanyi, what was most terrifying was the enmity between two adults, as in Francis’s case, leaving him with the love of one parent and the hatred of the other in life.

In this moment, he felt immensely grateful that he and Jin Chu had ultimately faced Nanyi together.

“You are our precious, Nanyi. Yes, we are getting a divorce because Daddy and Aiden truly don’t love each other anymore, and that’s why we’re choosing to separate. But our love for you, our precious, has absolutely not changed in any way. Do you understand?”

Jin Chu also crouched down, caressing Nanyi’s cheek and speaking with teary eyes. “Nanyi, you won’t be like Francis. Daddy and I aren’t enemies; we just can’t be together anymore. But you will always have our wholehearted love.”
