Evil Love Appears

Evil Love Appears chapter 114

The night sky after the rain was still cloudy, and the road was a bit slippery.

Wen Huaixuan rented a rather old motorcycle, and Xu Jiale wanted to put some distance between them. However, every time he tried to accelerate, he had to twist the handlebars hard several times, and the result was that they didn’t go very fast.

But it seemed like Wen Huaixuan was being considerate, or maybe Wang Xiaoshan had said something, as they clearly had no intention of catching up.

Fu Xiaoyu sat on the motorcycle’s back seat, breathing in the salty air of Phuket Island, along with a hint of minty freshness coming from Alpha in the wind.

For a brief moment, he suddenly remembered “Eat Drink Man Woman.”

He recalled the image of the traditional Jia Zhen ultimately donning wild curly hair and riding on a sports teacher’s motorcycle, departing into the night.

The scene symbolized rebellion and joy, which had once inspired all his romantic fantasies.

And tonight, he finally found himself in that position.

But… it wasn’t quite like he had imagined.

Right now he was with an Alpha with a white tank top, black stockings, and a pink bunny tail attached to his butt who rode a beat-up motorcycle in the sea breeze, carrying him into the night with a rhythmic thumping.

Life seemed even more absurd and crazy than in the movies.

Fu Xiaoyu suddenly thought.

At the beginning of the streets, there were a few scattered vendors selling fruits and grilled fish. Gradually, both the vendors and pedestrians disappeared.

Fu Xiaoyu lowered his head and quietly tugged on Xu Jiale’s bunny tail.

“Want to get off and walk around?” Xu Jiale quickly received his request and slowly parked the motorcycle at the roadside.

They walked together to the deserted beach, and the moon was hidden behind the clouds. Under the vast sky, there was the black sea with surging waves.

Between the sea and the sky, it felt like there was only the two of them.

The vast night sky and the sea stretched to the limits of their vision, making them feel particularly insignificant.

Fu Xiaoyu instinctively resisted this feeling of insignificance.

He took off his slippers and walked barefoot on the soft white sand, moving forward slowly.

The clear footprints with five toes slowly extended to where the beach met the sea.

In the dark night, his figure seemed somewhat stubborn.

As if determined to leave his own mark in this boundless space.

Xu Jiale watched for a while from behind, then suddenly took off his shoes and ran to catch up.

He stood next to Fu Xiaoyu, walking side by side with this Omega. He looked down at the grains of sand sticking to his fair toes and asked softly, “What are you thinking about?”

“I don’t know.”

Perhaps because he was still a bit drunk, Fu Xiaoyu’s response was unusually straightforward, without bothering to think or consider.

“Okay, then, how do you think I did with my dance tonight?” Xu Jiale paused for a moment and suddenly asked.

Fu Xiaoyu turned his head to look at Xu Jiale, glanced at him, then couldn’t help but cast a fleeting gaze at the bunny tail on Xu Jiale’s rear end.

Xu Jiale felt Fu Xiaoyu’s gaze.

He then stopped and stretched his right leg with an exaggerated pointing gesture, followed by a swaying of his bunny tail. He continued, “How about a response?”

Fu Xiaoyu raised his head to look at Xu Jiale’s appearance as he extended his leg gracefully and playfully pointed at his tail, then he asked, “What are you trying to do?”

Xu Jiale said, “I’m just trying to make you smile.”

He self-deprecatingly sighed, “Everyone had a blast all night, but I couldn’t make you laugh.”

Fu Xiaoyu raised his head, expecting to see a disappointed expression on Xu Jiale’s face.

But the way Xu Jiale looked at him was deep and focused.

“Xiaoyu, we’ve actually never really talked about what happened on the day we broke up. Every time it’s mentioned, I can tell you’re still sad. You’re resisting, not wanting to really smile and also not wanting to… listen to that song, right?”

Fu Xiaoyu stubbornly said, “Does it matter whether I laugh or not? Laughing doesn’t mean anything, it doesn’t mean we’re back together, and it doesn’t mean nothing happened.”

Xu Jiale still gazed at him.

It was hard to imagine that this Alpha, dressed in such an unusual outfit, had eyes that felt like they were gently cupping his cheeks with a tender touch.

Suddenly, Fu Xiaoyu’s heart felt both sour and painful.

Yes, actually, Xu Jiale was right.

He was resisting, resisting the emotions that Xu Jiale had brought to him tonight, the emotions that felt like they were kneading and crushing his heart.

Leaving in the middle of the song felt more like escaping because resisting the emotions welling up in his heart was an especially painful thing to do.

So he wasn’t quite himself, more like a cat with an arched back, or a prickly hedgehog.

Fu Xiaoyu sat on the beach, scooping sand out in handfuls, burying his bare feet in a small sandpit, then smoothing the sand over his feet one by one.

After doing all this, he thought he could calm down, but he couldn’t hold back the words he wanted to say the most.

“Xu Jiale, actually, before we broke up, I never thought that love could be so difficult. Back then, I knew about your marriage situation, but falling in love with you, pursuing you, everything happened so quickly and naturally. There wasn’t much time to be sad. I’m not afraid of difficulties, I just…”

Fu Xiaoyu looked at his own feet in the sand and continued, “You think, … we can go back to how things were before?”

Fu Xiaoyu’s voice drifted in the sea breeze, sounding somewhat uncertain.

Perhaps this had always been his deepest anxiety and frustration.

“Can we go back to how things were before?”

Xu Jiale sat down beside Fu Xiaoyu and whispered, “Xiaoyu, do you know when this thought first came to my mind?”

“It was when you solemnly told me that you wanted to pursue me.”

Xu Jiale looked at the sea under the moonlight, took a long breath, and bent his lips into a smile. “Don’t laugh, but at that moment, my feeling was that I had always been hiding in my own den, and suddenly you threw a firecracker in, and it went off with a bang, blasting me out. ‘Can we go back to how things were before?’ That’s what I thought back then, Xiaoyu, you probably will never understand how I felt at that time—happiness and panic coming together. It was real happiness, but also real panic. I didn’t even feel like we would be together forever.”

Fu Xiaoyu turned his head and stared at Xu Jiale in a daze. This Alpha, who was showing the same dispirited and forlorn look as when they first met, as described by Xu Jiale, seemed to be describing a very vivid and real experience.

Perhaps Xu Jiale’s description was so vivid that he couldn’t help but recall that confession, how the sick Alpha had tried everything to reject him at first and had finally, somewhat reluctantly, said, “Okay.”

It turned out that back then, Xu Jiale felt like a panicked fox being blasted out of its den by him.

“Why?” Fu Xiaoyu asked seriously. “Why wouldn’t we be together forever?”

“Because… before I met you, I had already been through too many failed intimate relationships, including a marriage.”

Xu Jiale calmly said, “Xiaoyu, I’m different from you. You are like a drawn sword, sharp and exposed, but I have accepted that failure is the norm. As the giver, the more catastrophic the failure after giving, the more you’ll question yourself: whether giving more makes you cheaper, or if my value has always been in giving. So every minute I spend with you, I’m actually telling myself that it will end. If I didn’t maintain this psychological defense, it would have been impossible to be together with you.”

“You mean, you thought we might break up.”

Fu Xiaoyu keenly understood Xu Jiale’s meaning. Their love was undeniable, but the presence of Nanyi and his illness had indeed been the spark that ignited the situation. However, the underlying pessimism that had persisted in this Alpha’s heart for so long was the true reason behind their breakup.

Xu Jiale never believed in intimate relationships, nor in their happiness, which was why he collapsed all at once and gave up so easily.

Xu Jiale looked at Fu Xiaoyu.

He still had so many apologies for the breakup.

He finally apologized with a gentle smile, “I’m sorry.”

That once-again gentle apology made Fu Xiaoyu’s nose tingle.

He remembered when Xu Jiale had gently sung “In the vast wilderness of life” while holding him.

He had always felt Xu Jiale’s cunning, but now he seemed to understand the helplessness behind that fox-like cunning.

“You say you never thought love could be so difficult, but I actually knew how difficult it could be. After the breakup, I truly faced this issue. It’s not about love, or even my marriage or child. It’s about people – how to face the flaws and weaknesses that have been hidden in your heart for years.”

Xu Jiale lowered his head, gazing thoughtfully at Fu Xiaoyu’s feet buried in the sand.

The golden ankle bracelet still showed, hanging on his fair ankle.

“Xiaoyu, you’re worried about whether we can go back to the way we were. But the old me wasn’t honest. Even during our best times, I felt like I was secretly loving you, pretending to care and protect, pretending to be carefree, pretending to only give you what you needed.”

“It’s only after this time that I truly faced myself.”

Saying this, Xu Jiale suddenly stood up while holding Fu Xiaoyu’s hand.

Fu Xiaoyu was a little taken aback, and one of his bare feet emerged from the sandpit, covered in sand.

Xu Jiale led him towards the sea, then turned to face him.

“I’ve never danced seductively before. I even thought it was a bit embarrassing to get on the stage in this attire.”

Xu Jiale looked up at the moonlight and said softly, “But strangely, once I started dancing, no matter how I twisted, how I danced, or how others laughed, I suddenly didn’t care at all. It may sound like I’m making a big deal out of it, but it was really the first time I felt brave. This time, it’s not the assumed carefreeness, but the real feeling of freedom. When that power exists, it won’t easily leave.”

“Xu Jiale…”

Fu Xiaoyu accidentally stepped on Xu Jiale’s foot.

But Xu Jiale suddenly wrapped his arms around his waist tightly.

In the briny sea breeze, the scent of mint grew even closer.

“Once people can truly face themselves, they suddenly feel that time and life are too precious. You know, I originally wanted to wait until I returned to the United States to try to persuade Jin Chu again or find a way to bring a psychologist to help, but now, I think… I shouldn’t wait any longer.”

“Tomorrow is the wedding, Xiaoyu. Whether Jin Chu talks to me or not before the wedding, I will tell Nanyi everything.”

Fu Xiaoyu was taken aback. “Really?”

“Yep,” Xu Jiale said calmly. “Maybe it’s difficult now, but I think he’ll understand someday. His father has always lacked courage. Revealing everything to him before a wedding that belongs to true love is the honesty I’ve finally found for myself, for him, and… for the person I love.”

Fu Xiaoyu took a deep breath.

Under the night sky of Phuket, he felt like the sea breeze had blown into his chest, making him gradually feel more open.

“So, you asked me if it’s important whether I laugh or not?”

Xu Jiale’s voice was deep. “Damn right, it’s important. Xiaoyu, every second with you is too important.”

“Kitten, I want you to be happy every second from now on. So, don’t be afraid that we can’t go back to the past. We’ll have more and better future.”

Xu Jiale still didn’t get a response.

Fu Xiaoyu remained surprisingly silent, but he discreetly stepped on Xu Jiale’s other foot as well.

Xu Jiale smiled slightly.

“Come on, let’s dance.”

Fu Xiaoyu was stepping on his feet, dancing with him along the shore as the waves rushed in, vigorously washing over their intertwined toes.

The two of them, the one wearing stockings and a rabbit tail, were engaged in a strange and romantic dance under the moonlight.

His heart was as restless as the waves, and every time he looked at Xu Jiale’s face, he felt that he wanted to say many things, but perhaps it was the grandeur of the moonlit sea that ultimately prevented him from speaking.

Fu Xiaoyu was once again sitting on the back of Xu Jiale’s motorcycle.

Because Xu Jiale was dressed like this, even his phone was left with Wang Xiaoshan. So he sent a text message to Wang Xiaoshan on Fu Xiaoyu’s phone, intending to go back to the resort’s entrance to get his phone.

On the way back, the sea breeze grew stronger, and Fu Xiaoyu felt his hair blowing wildly in the wind. However, this wild feeling was more like a scene from a movie.

“Xu Jiale,” he called aimlessly in the wind.

“Yes,” Xu Jiale shouted in the wind.

“Xu Jiale,” Fu Xiaoyu repeated, gently holding onto Alpha’s waist as if nothing had happened, and said, “I think you danced quite well, actually.”

“Haha.” Xu Jiale laughed happily in the wind, and deliberately raised his butt, shaking the pink rabbit tail at Fu Xiaoyu. “I think so too.”

The motorcycle continued for a while, and as they got closer to the central location of the resort, the scene became less desolate.

The street was filled with stalls, selling coconut juice, slippers, clothes, and it was bustling like a small night market.

Tuk-tuk vehicles with flashing neon lights on the sides began to appear, typical of Thailand. These vehicles looked relatively simple, with a metal frame and a roof, but they had high speeds, and they crisscrossed the streets. Some of the tuk-tuk vehicles even played the old hit song “Gangnam Style.”

With more and more vehicles coming and going, Xu Jiale slowed down the speed of the motorcycle.

“Are we almost there?” Fu Xiaoyu asked.

“Yeah, the hotel is just two intersections away,” Xu Jiale replied as he turned the handlebars, intending to cross the crossroads. But at that moment, on the dimly lit road to the right, a tuk-tuk suddenly emerged, rushing toward them.

In that split second, there was no time for any thoughts. Xu Jiale instinctively turned the motorcycle’s front wheel sharply to avoid the collision, while the tuk-tuk driver also swerved at the same time.

They were just about a meter away from a collision.

Then there was a loud “bang,” and the motorcycle, being somewhat old and fragile, lost its balance during the sudden turn. Both of them fell to the ground.

Xu Jiale was in shock, and there were no words to describe the terrifying feeling of almost facing a car accident.

He barely thought of anything; it was pure instinct as he scrambled to his feet, “Xiaoyu, Xiaoyu…”

Fu Xiaoyu had fallen behind him.

Xu Jiale’s mind was blank, and he couldn’t even spare a glance at the tuk-tuk driver. He rushed to Fu Xiaoyu without a second thought, pulling him into his arms.

“Xiaoyu, baby, are you okay?”

Xu Jiale’s face turned deathly pale. When he held Fu Xiaoyu, he smelled the metallic scent of blood, but he couldn’t tell where it was coming from. His hands trembled uncontrollably because he couldn’t find the source of the blood.

He wanted to touch Fu Xiaoyu’s body to check, but he was afraid to hurt him further.

Fu Xiaoyu was still unresponsive, already being held by Xu Jiale. He hadn’t felt anything at first, and it seemed like he had lost consciousness for a few seconds. But perhaps it was Xu Jiale’s reaction that frightened him; he believed that he was seriously injured, but he couldn’t see it.

At that moment, his lips trembled slightly, and after carefully examining himself, he whispered, “M… my butt hurts.”

It appeared that when he fell, he had landed directly on his ass, and it did hurt.

“Damn it…”

Xu Jiale finally reacted this time, though it was due to the severe pain. He cursed in a weakened voice.

“Xu Jiale!”

Fu Xiaoyu had finally come to his senses. He was momentarily unable to speak, looking at Xu Jiale, who was clutching his injured arm with his other hand.

“I’m fine,” Fu Xiaoyu said, his trembling lips unable to form words.

Actually, it only took a few seconds for him to fully regain his senses. He had no significant injuries, not even minor ones, apart from a small scrape on his leg that had caused a bit of bleeding. Compared to Xu Jiale’s injuries, his injuries were insignificant.

Fu Xiaoyu watched Xu Jiale sit on the road with blood all over him, clutching his arm, breathing heavily in pain. At that moment, he didn’t know why he wanted to cry and laugh at the same time, two completely different emotions surging over him like waves.

His lips twitched once, twice, and eventually, large teardrops rolled down.

Everything was so absurd.

But finally, his emotions burst forth not during the moonlit dance, not amidst the solitude of the song, but right now.

In his heart, the only thing that mattered was Xu Jiale who had held him tightly for those few seconds, asking anxiously if he was okay, but hadn’t felt any of his own injuries.

It was the silliest thing he had ever seen.

“Xu Jiale…”

He suddenly rushed over and hugged Xu Jiale tightly, his arms wrapped around the Alpha’s neck, as he had longed to do. He sobbed, “You’re crazy.”
