Evil Love Appears chapter 100
As Fu Xiaoyu looked at Xu Jiale, he gradually found himself getting a little lost in thought.
The alpha in front of him was probably experiencing one of the most awkward days of his life. He was already pale due to illness, and now his nose had turned red, with swelling around the bridge and tip of his nose. Even the cuffs of his shirt had specks of blood from wiping his nose just now.
In Fu Xiaoyu’s eyes, Xu Jiale had always seemed radiant, handsome, witty, suave, gentle, and sexy. He could go on listing his qualities.
But at this moment, when he looked at Xu Jiale, who appeared disheveled and even a bit unsightly, a sudden, sharp pain pierced his heart. He couldn’t quite pinpoint the reason, but when he had been foolishly pursuing Xu Jiale, basking in the glory of catching him, he had never thought that these embarrassing, vulnerable, and imperfect aspects could coexist in Xu Jiale.
It was like a deliberately tucked-away, gloomy tail that had always been hidden behind Xu Jiale.
This alpha was not so perfect after all.
“Achoo.”
While Fu Xiaoyu was lost in thought, Xu Jiale, who had been holding back, finally sneezed, breaking the silence. The sudden motion interrupted Fu Xiaoyu’s chaotic thoughts. He glanced at Xu Jiale’s pale face and then at the IV bag beside him.
“I’m fine.”
Xu Jiale had been observing Fu Xiaoyu’s expression all along. At this point, he immediately straightened up and earnestly said, “I don’t have a cold. I’ve had a bit of a gastrointestinal infection these past few days, so the doctor prescribed some days of intravenous therapy. I’m almost better now.”
“I didn’t ask about that.”
Fu Xiaoyu slowly repeated the words Xu Jiale had just spoken, “No responsibilities, no burdens?”
“Yes,” Xu Jiale responded.
Though it was just a response in the form of a question, it instantly lifted Xu Jiale’s spirits. He raised his head and spoke in a hoarse voice, “Xiaoyu, from today on, I’ll handle everything. You don’t have to do anything; there are no responsibilities, no burdens.”
Fu Xiaoyu remained silent for a moment and then said, “Just like how I pursued you initially?”
As he spoke, he had a serious expression on his face, not as if he were joking, but rather as if he were genuinely mocking.
Xu Jiale swallowed the cold, cutting sarcasm.
“Yes,” he replied, determinedly. After a brief pause, he added softly, “Xiaoyu, the month you spent pursuing me was the happiest time of my life, really. Now, when I pursue you, it’s a well-thought-out decision. Don’t worry about a month; I’m ready for ten times or even a hundred times longer. You can trust me. Keep moving forward, and whenever you look back, you’ll definitely see me chasing you. So, you don’t even need to think about whether to accept me or when to accept me; there’s no pressure, right?”
Upon hearing this, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly stood up. He adjusted the hem of his coat and said, “It’s very late, and it’s quite cold outside. I need to go.”
As he stood up, Xu Jiale also stood up immediately, and neither of them moved.
Perhaps because he hadn’t given a clear answer, the look in the alpha’s eyes, filled with persistence, now carried a hint of pleading.
“Xu Jiale, you can pursue me,” Fu Xiaoyu finally said, looking up at the night sky, his voice low. “But it’s true, this time, I won’t give you any guarantees.”
As he uttered those cold words, his own nose unexpectedly tingled with a bit of emotion.
The two of them locked eyes in the night breeze until a silent autumn leaf gently landed on Fu Xiaoyu’s shoulder.
Taking a deep breath, he said, “I need to go.”
“Wait!” Xu Jiale, as if suddenly awakened from a dream, grabbed the IV stand beside him. He hesitated to speak, “I’ll take you back, just wait for me for two minutes.”
Fu Xiaoyu hadn’t even had a chance to reply when the alpha in front of him had already dashed off.
He didn’t just push the IV stand; he picked it up and sprinted into the hospital at full speed.
The sight of an alpha racing with an IV stand was somewhat comical.
Xu Jiale wasn’t lying; it really wasn’t more than two minutes.
When he returned, he was putting on his coat while running. He was out of breath, but his eyes still gleamed.
He was both eager and excited, and he repeated, “My car is parked just around the corner. It’s very close, Xiaoyu, I’ll take you back.”
Since he had agreed to being pursued, it didn’t seem right to refuse.
Fu Xiaoyu didn’t say anything, just nodded.
The hospital was in the northern part of the city, so it was quite close to Junya Villa. Still, Xu Jiale didn’t drive very fast, so it took nearly twenty minutes to reach their destination.
Xu Jiale hadn’t even pulled into the driveway when Fu Xiaoyu stopped him, saying, “Just park on the side.”
He suddenly realized that it might not be convenient with Fu Jing and Tang Ning still at home.
“Okay.”
So, Xu Jiale parked the car on the side of the road, and they both got out of the car. Even though it was only a few steps, he walked alongside Fu Xiaoyu, accompanying him to the entrance of his luxurious villa.
“Xiaoyu…”
Just as Fu Xiaoyu was about to enter, the alpha behind him suddenly called out to him.
“Hmm?”
“You removed me from your WeChat before. Can I add you back now?” Xu Jiale asked tentatively.
Fu Xiaoyu fell silent for a moment. It wasn’t that he was upset about adding Xu Jiale back to his WeChat; it was that he suddenly realized he didn’t know how to handle Xu Jiale’s gradual advances because he had never been pursued this way before.
Should he be sent back home when he’s being pursued?
Should he add someone to his WeChat while being pursued?
Unlike his work, he had no benchmarks or standards for handling such matters.
He was irritated to find himself navigating unfamiliar territory in the realm of love, much like when he had pursued Xu Jiale initially.
This realization was what made him a little angry.
Fu Xiaoyu turned around, and with a touch of annoyance, he said, “Have you successfully pursued me yet?”
“No,” Xu Jiale admitted honestly.
This time, it was different from before. He looked into the round, cat-like eyes of the omega and felt a strange sensation. It was as if a knife had gone through his stomach, and it had started to tingle.
This is just… crazy.
“Xiaoyu…”
As he watched Fu Xiaoyu about to enter the gate, Xu Jiale couldn’t help but call out softly.
Fu Xiaoyu turned back, and he saw the alpha standing beneath the sycamore tree in front of his house, looking at him.
He waited for a few seconds. In those seconds, a sycamore leaf fell gently with the cool night breeze and landed on Xu Jiale’s head.
Xu Jiale raised his hand, and for a moment, Fu Xiaoyu thought he would pluck the fallen leaf from his head. However, Xu Jiale just waved at him, looking somewhat foolish.
“Goodnight, Xiaoyu.”
The alpha stood beneath the falling leaf and said while waving.
…
The streets of the northern city at night were almost deserted. It took just over ten minutes for Xu Jiale’s Tesla to race from Junya to Uloft.
He rushed into the house, and the first thing he did was take out his phone and send a message to Fu Xiaoyu on DingTalk: “I’m home.”
Generally, it’s omegas who send messages like “I’m home.” However, in the situation between him and Fu Xiaoyu, it was pointless to wait for Fu Xiaoyu to send this message.
His phone was running low on battery, so he held the charging phone and waited for ten minutes. However, he still didn’t receive a reply from Fu Xiaoyu. The messages remained unread.
Xu Jiale thought for a moment and sent another message: “Shall I pick you up for work tomorrow morning? There’s a great dumpling restaurant on Beihai Road. We can grab some on our way?”
Still no response, still unread.
Xu Jiale had a feeling that Fu Xiaoyu might have seen his messages but deliberately chose not to read them because he knew that, under these circumstances, Fu Xiaoyu would not send him any messages.
He was well aware that even on weekends, Fu Xiaoyu checked his DingTalk messages approximately every ten minutes.
Xu Jiale had no choice but to go clean the litter box and change the water for Xia’an.
After playing with Xia’an for a while, he suddenly had an idea. He took a picture of Xia’an showing her belly and sent it to Fu Xiaoyu on DingTalk.
You see, with text messages, the other person can still see the message preview even if they don’t open the chat window. However, with a picture, the other person can’t see what he sent if they don’t open the chat window.
He held Xia’an’s chin in one hand while clutching his phone in the other. He stared at the DingTalk chat window with unwavering focus.
After about ten minutes, all the messages he sent had finally changed from unread to read!
Damn!
Who needs WeChat?
DingTalk’s read message function is the best.
Xu Jiale practically jumped out of bed and continued to stare at the chat window.
He waited and waited, his eyes beginning to feel sore.
Finally, Fu Xiaoyu made a move.
The omega didn’t respond to any of his messages, didn’t acknowledge his “I’m home,” and didn’t respond to his invitation for the next day.
He just sent him a thumbs up under the picture of Xia’an, a very bossy move.
Xu Jiale held his phone and stared at the thumbs-up for a full two minutes. Then, he suddenly turned around, picked up Xia’an, and started kissing her frantically.
At first, Xia’an seemed to enjoy it and let out a couple of contented meows. However, Xu Jiale was too much, too persistent.
A few seconds later, Xia’an, unable to bear it any longer, delivered a heavy paw slap to Xu Jiale’s face.
“Get lost.”
Xu Jiale understood the little princess’s message.
But Xu Jiale was not discouraged. He was still excited and even rolled from the bed to the bathroom in his excitement.
He thought that regardless of what happened, he would still drive his car to Junya tomorrow morning. Whether or not Fu Xiaoyu responded to him was another matter.
As he was about to wash his face and go to bed, he saw himself in the bathroom mirror. His expression suddenly became serious.
He had been washing his face, brushing his teeth, and showering as usual for the past few days. However, at this moment, as he looked at himself in the mirror, he realized that he hadn’t been aware of it at all.
Only at this moment did he notice the person in the mirror – his hair hadn’t been styled for a long time, he hadn’t shaved, there were dark circles under his eyes, and he looked like someone who was sleep-deprived and haggard.
Damn, who is this unlucky guy?
Xu Jiale thought with a grim expression.
