Don’t Ignite It chapter 12

Pleasure

When Xia Yu entered the house, he was in a good mood.

Although Lu Zhao had left marks all over his body and he felt sore walking, he had to admit that having sex was quite relieving, especially with someone whose physical compatibility was extremely high.

He probably had an unchanging preference for people like Lu Zhao.

Over the past few years, there had been people pursuing him, both openly and in secret. Despite being married, it wasn’t much of an obstacle for many, as their pursuit was quite intense.

But he was somewhat picky; either they were too muscular or not good-looking enough, and in the end, he turned them all down.

He had once suspected that he was too young to be this restrained, or else how could he be so indifferent to worldly desires?

However, now that Lu Zhao had returned, his long-dormant desires were resurging like spring rain nourishing young shoots.

Xia Yu checked himself in the hallway mirror, his eyes like peach blossoms, fair skin like snow, and slightly swollen lips, clearly revealing that he had just been fooling around.

He couldn’t help but chuckle.

Sleeping with Lu Zhao, although tiring, was genuinely enjoyable and addictive. Even if he went to a high-end nightclub, he wouldn’t experience the same level of satisfaction.

What’s more, he didn’t have to take responsibility for Lu Zhao.

Humming a tune, Xia Yu entered the living room where Xu Zhan was sitting on the floor, working on his laptop with research materials scattered all over.

Xia Yu approached, peeking at the materials. It appeared to be something related to the study of Ming and Qing dynasty poetry and literature, which he couldn’t understand.

Xu Zhan had already heard the commotion and turned his head before asking, “Where did you go? Have you had dinner?”

Leaning lazily on the table, Xia Yu opened a bottle of soda. “I had dinner with some colleagues.”

A slight smile appeared on Xia Yu’s lips, and he answered Xu Zhan’s second question, “But it wasn’t dinner just now; I was fooling around.”

Xu Zhan chuckled.

He didn’t take it seriously, thinking Xia Yu was just joking. Continuing the conversation, he asked, “With whom? Do I know them?”

Xia Yu blinked as he leaned against the soda bottle cap, his eyes flickering, unsure of how to answer this question.

Should he just admit it was Lu Zhao?

But then he could forget about sleeping tonight, as Xu Zhan could create an atmosphere of a three-hour inquisition.

In the end, he mumbled, “You don’t know them.”

This gave Xu Zhan a clue.

He furrowed his brows, incredulous. “Wait a minute, weren’t you joking just now? Did you really go on a date with someone?”

“Not a date,” Xia Yu corrected earnestly. “I just met someone who seemed compatible. Physically attractive, so I slept with them.”

He said it with a straight face, completely unashamed, as if he hadn’t engaged in an extramarital affair but had attended an academic conference.

Xu Zhan’s face froze for a moment.

He remembered Xia Yu’s words from a few days ago and found this even more unbelievable. “You didn’t actually enter into a sugar daddy arrangement, did you?”

Xia Yu chuckled.

Entering a sugar daddy arrangement was something he didn’t dare to do. He couldn’t possibly afford someone like Lu Zhao.

“No, just a regular friend with benefits. I can’t afford someone like that,” he touched his nose, “but it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference. We agreed it’s just a physical relationship, and we can part ways at any time.”

Xu Zhan’s brows knitted tighter.

This time, he scrutinized Xia Yu from top to bottom. He might not have cared about these details before, but ever since that man who was always bothering him in bed appeared, he had become more sensitive to certain things.

Xia Yu, dressed in only a shirt with all the buttons fastened, didn’t seem to be practicing abstinence. His lips were rosy and soft, his eyes alluring and clear. There was a faint blush on his snow-white skin, tempting the imagination of how clear and translucent it might be, and whether even a slightly harder touch could leave finger imprints and red marks.

Even though he spent every day with Xia Yu, he couldn’t help but feel the sensuality and laziness emanating from Xia Yu’s every movement and gesture.

“Who was it?” Xu Zhan inquired cautiously. “Can you tell me?”

Xia Yu hesitated for two seconds, feeling guilty, and then told a white lie, “I’d rather not say. They’re a high-profile person, and I don’t want to cause trouble for them. But don’t worry, they know I’m married, so they won’t cause any problems. You can relax.”

Xu Zhan didn’t raise any more doubts. Lu Zhao’s arrogance and aloofness were deeply ingrained in everyone’s minds, making it difficult for him to connect the dots.

“Alright, I won’t ask anymore. You know what you’re doing,” Xu Zhan said, taking off his glasses and wiping them. His eyes behind the lenses were very attractive, and he looked at Xia Yu with a slight smirk, teasing, “But you sure acted fast. A few days ago, you were asking me to introduce someone, and now you’ve already found someone.”

Xia Yu also laughed. “Plans can’t always keep up with changes.”

He lay down, resting his head on Xu Zhan’s lap, looking up innocently, “If someone insists on delivering themselves to my door, I’ll accept it on the side.”

Xu Zhan didn’t say much. While Xia Yu was a few years younger, he was still an adult and didn’t need Xu Zhan to worry about everything.

As Xu Zhan went to get some materials he needed, he casually reminded, “Just be careful. Even though I don’t know who you’ve found, if they’ve caught your eye, they should be decent. If you genuinely like them and want to have a serious relationship, that’s okay too.”

He was ready to step aside at any time.

Xia Yu, however, chuckled, “That day will never come.”

After that day…

Xia Yu often received date invitations from Lu Zhao, so frequently that he was starting to feel overwhelmed. He didn’t want to appear so eager, but Lu Zhao would always wait for him in the alley behind his workplace after he got off.

Xia Yu was indecisive by nature.

He had intended to decline the invitations, but every time he passed by Lu Zhao’s car, he couldn’t help but remember Lu Zhao’s handsome features, his beautiful eyes, and his slender hand resting on the car window. Those thoughts would make him recall how those hands had touched his body.

Then he would involuntarily swallow hard, turn on his heel, and get into Lu Zhao’s car.

He told Lu Zhao about this, feeling no embarrassment at all. Back then, he might have tried to hide it a little, emphasizing that it was because he liked Lu Zhao as a person, but now he didn’t care.

“I should have played a little hard to get,” Xia Yu said after they finished. “For an affair like this, it should be more thrilling, making you want what you can’t have. But I have no self-control, and I crave your touch.”

He said this with a smile and even pinched the muscles on Lu Zhao’s arm.

Lu Zhao looked at him with lowered eyes.

Xia Yu was sitting on the bed in a white bathrobe, revealing his slender neck and wrist with a faint red mark, like a seductive enchantress or a swan perched on a lake.

“Aren’t you always playing hard to get with me?” he replied.

“Me? Not at all,” Xia Yu replied in surprise, his eyes moist with innocence. “I’ve always been very accommodating to you.”

Recently, Lu Zhao had invited him several times, and he had always come out.

Lu Zhao embraced him, “But every time after we’re done, you don’t stay.”

So that was what he meant.

Xia Yu withdrew his gaze, leaned against Lu Zhao, and used his fingertips to trace Lu Zhao’s arm.

“But we agreed on this from the beginning,” Xia Yu said gently. “Isn’t this working well for us?”

In fact, he felt it was working wonderfully.

Back then, Lu Zhao had been right; once you stopped being greedy and seeking a long-lasting relationship, you became carefree. Now he didn’t care if Lu Zhao went somewhere, met someone, or received a text message. Their only connection was in the bedroom.

The pleasure of their bodies was the only thing he sought from Lu Zhao.

He looked at Lu Zhao, rolled over, and lay on top of him, kissing his neck.

While he kissed him like an affectionate puppy, he also said nonchalantly, “If you ever find true love one day, you can tell me, and we can end this relationship immediately.”

Lu Zhao couldn’t help but think that Xia Yu was deliberately provoking him.

But he lowered his head, and Xia Yu looked genuinely innocent.

Xia Yu playfully stuck out his tongue at him, a pink tip licking his lips lightly, lively and seductive.

Lu Zhao’s expression darkened as he pulled Xia Yu closer and kissed him again.

His hand was around Xia Yu’s waist, wanting to do it again.

But Xia Yu pushed him away.

“I can’t do it more times today,” Xia Yu said breathlessly. His face was sweaty, his eyes hazy, but he shook his head. “I have to go home today.”

Seeing Lu Zhao’s frown, Xia Yu added, “I have to go to my parents’ house. My brother and sister-in-law are going too.”

Lu Zhao was taken aback.

He also knew Xia Yu’s older brother, and it was through him that he had met Xia Yu back in the day.

He said, “I haven’t seen your brother in a long time. Maybe I should visit one day.”

Xia Yu chuckled.

“No, I don’t think so,” he said with a smile. “My brother would probably lose his appetite if he saw you. Back then, my relentless pursuit of you really brought shame to our family.”

His brother had always doted on him, but Xia Yu’s behavior had even upset him. Ultimately, it was Xia Yu’s one-sided affection, so he couldn’t blame Lu Zhao.

His brother had even approached Lu Zhao, offering him Xia Yu’s inheritance in exchange for marrying Xia Yu, but Lu Zhao had still refused.

Thinking about this, Xia Yu couldn’t help but take a deep breath, feeling guilty toward his brother. His brother had gone through a lot of stress because of him. In terms of doting on a younger sibling, his brother was second to none, except perhaps for Xu Zhan’s sister.

He patted Lu Zhao on the shoulder, “Keep your distance from my brother. Don’t give him any trouble, or I won’t let this go easily.”

Seeing that Lu Zhao seemed like he wanted to say something, Xia Yu’s expression turned colder, “Lu Zhao, don’t take yourself too seriously. You better pray that my brother never finds out about our relationship.”

Lu Zhao’s face didn’t look too good.

Xia Yu slowly got up from the bed and dressed. With a gentle tone, he added, “If my brother ever finds out and asks me to cut ties with you, I will definitely comply.”

Lu Zhao remained silent.

He understood perfectly well why Xia Jin despised him.

He had been too ruthless in the past, blocking every path that could lead to today.

After changing into clean clothes, Xia Yu left the hotel together with Lu Zhao.

In the parking lot, they went their separate ways. Xia Yu drove home while Lu Zhao had to return to the office for overtime.

In this regard, Xia Yu felt some sympathy for Lu Zhao. Comparatively, his art gallery, although busy, couldn’t match the scale of Lu Zhao’s or his brother’s companies. Lu Zhao was making an effort to find time for their secret rendezvous.

Thinking about this, Xia Yu chuckled.

In the past, he didn’t have this much charm. During the last year of their relationship, Lu Zhao had already been working at his family’s company. Even when they were in bed and an urgent work matter came up, Lu Zhao would unceremoniously leave him, not even sparing a moment to give him a kiss.

At most, he would toss him a few tissues and ask him to clean up himself.

Left alone in an empty bedroom, he felt a bit embarrassed despite knowing that Lu Zhao had work to attend to. He wished Lu Zhao would give him a kiss.

He wasn’t asking Lu Zhao to abandon his work for him; he just wished Lu Zhao would be less cold and hold him, apologizing and promising to make it up to him next time. But Lu Zhao did nothing.

Xia Yu took a turn of the steering wheel and looked at the traffic light ahead with a faint expression. He wondered how Lu Zhao would react now if he faced another urgent work situation.

But he quickly dismissed the thought. It was meaningless.

If he himself had to choose, if his art gallery called him with an important client, he would probably kick Lu Zhao out of bed too.
