Blinded by Lust chapter 54

While Wu Bie held Huo Zhanyan’s head, he evaded Shen Jixue and Chen Xian’s line of sight. Once they had walked far enough away, he let out a heavy sigh. When he looked down, Huo Zhanyan was snuggling against him with a blissful expression.

“Damn!” Wu Bie pushed Huo Zhanyan away, his voice cold, “Are you disgusting or what?”

Huo Zhanyan felt wronged. Wu Bie was the one who had hugged him first; how did it turn into him being disgusting? But he was already satisfied that Wu Bie had taken the initiative to embrace him, so he didn’t argue too much.

“So what are you going to do now?”

Wu Bie got up from the ground and dusted off his pants. “What else? Of course, I’m going down the mountain.”

Huo Zhanyan pointed in the direction where Shen Jixue had left. “That way is for motor vehicles; if you drive down now, they’ll definitely recognize you.”

Actually, being recognized wasn’t a big deal. Worst case, he’d just step on the gas and leave at lightning speed. He was just afraid that once he left, Shen Jixue might run into Huo Zhanyan again.

“What about you? After the competition, what are your plans?”

Is the sun rising in the west? Wu Bie actually cared about his plans. Huo Zhanyan took off his helmet, his hair had grown long and was stuck together from sweat, forming clumps.

“There’s still a performance tonight, and I’ve already made plans with my classmates. I’ll head down the mountain tomorrow.”

Wasn’t that just bad luck? How big can this scenic area be? Huo Zhanyan would definitely run into Shen Jixue and Chen Xian. If Shen Jixue knew that he was here, who knows what he’d think? But Wu Bie couldn’t exactly order Huo Zhanyan to go down the mountain.

He shot a disgruntled look at Huo Zhanyan, who brushed his hair aside and suggested, “Ge, you can’t go down the mountain now anyway, so why not wait a little?”

That’s true, he needed to keep an eye on Huo Zhanyan. If he ran into Shen Jixue, who knows what nonsense he might spout? And if he’s around, he could at least prevent them from meeting.

Seeing that Wu Bie didn’t say anything, Huo Zhanyan took it as consent. He pulled out his phone, called his classmate, and reported his location. Soon, two women came over together.

“Huo Zhanyan, we were wondering why we couldn’t find you. Turns out you were hiding here.”

The college girls were vibrant, youthful, and full of energy. Normally, Wu Bie would have chatted with them a bit, maybe even invited them to dinner. But these days, he had a phobia of “college girls.”

“I’ll give you my registration card. If they hand out anything later, could you help me collect it? I want to go back to my room and take a shower.”

The college girl took the card and patted her chest, promising, “No problem! We checked the rankings earlier; you’ve got a prize. We’ll get it and bring it to you.”

Seeing Wu Bie standing silently to the side, the college girl politely asked, “And this is…?”

“He’s my… friend.”

“Perfect! How about we all have dinner together and watch the show tonight?”

With such enthusiasm, Wu Bie felt a bit awkward. He forced a smile, and after the girls left, he finally said to Huo Zhanyan, “You’re quite good at bossing your classmates around, huh? Going back to your room to rest and shamelessly leaving the girls to wait around for you.”

Even if you’re gay, isn’t it a bit rude to treat girls like that? How could Huo Zhanyan treat people like this?

Huo Zhanyan pressed his lips together. To Wu Bie, girls were just easier to deal with than guys—they had an advantage. “Why do you think of me like that? They’re volunteers. Even if the athletes leave, they still have to stay until the end.”

“Oh.” Wu Bie scratched his cheek. Even if he had misunderstood Huo Zhanyan, he wasn’t going to apologize.

Huo Zhanyan didn’t argue. Grabbing Wu Bie, he started walking toward the hotel lobby, but Wu Bie stayed rooted in place, refusing to move.

“What are you doing? If you want to take a shower, go by yourself. Why are you dragging me along?”

Huo Zhanyan glanced toward the direction Shen Jixue and Chen Xian had gone. “Isn’t it dangerous for you to stay outside? There’s always the chance you’ll run into Shen Jixue.”

That made sense. As long as they were outdoors, there was a risk of running into Shen Jixue. The only safe place was inside a room. Wu Bie looked Huo Zhanyan up and down. Well, it was the least desirable option, but for now, there was no better alternative.

After resting for most of the day, they returned to the room, and Huo Zhanyan had calmed down. His legs weren’t shaking as much anymore.

Wu Bie watched him rummage through his things for clean clothes and toiletries. “I’m going to the bathroom first.”

When Wu Bie came out of the bathroom, Huo Zhanyan told him to sit anywhere and headed into the bathroom with his stuff.

Being in the hotel room with Huo Zhanyan made Wu Bie feel a bit uneasy. It wasn’t until the sound of water started in the bathroom that he finally moved further into the room.

He had noticed earlier that the hotel was quite large, with décor that leaned toward a natural wood aesthetic. Huo Zhanyan’s room had a king-size bed and wasn’t very big, but there was a floor-to-ceiling window facing the valley, offering a breathtaking view of the rolling mountains. The scenery was truly stunning.

Because it was a king-size room, the bathroom had a somewhat ambiguous design, with frosted glass that faintly showed the silhouette of a person. Wu Bie turned away; he wasn’t interested in men’s bodies. Still, the sound of the running water made him feel restless.

He opened the window for some fresh air, pulled over a rocking chair, and sat in front of the window. Before taking out his cigarette pack, he wiped his hands with a tissue to get rid of any lingering moisture. The taste of nicotine spread across his tongue as he gazed at the seemingly bottomless valley, his mood growing heavier.

How did I end up in the neighboring city so carelessly? And how did I end up in a room with Huo Zhanyan? It feels like something happened, yet nothing happened. Something seems to be changing, invisibly.

After a long time, the sound of water stopped, and the noise of a hairdryer filled the room. Wu Bie silently listened as he smoked his third cigarette. Who knows how much time had passed when the room suddenly darkened. When he turned around, Huo Zhanyan had already come out of the bathroom.

Huo Zhanyan’s hair had grown quite long. After drying most of it, he tied it into a half ponytail with a hair tie. The room was warm, and he was wearing a thin undershirt and casual pants. His whole body exuded a faint orange scent, probably from the shower gel.

Instinctively, Wu Bie sat up straighter, but Huo Zhanyan suddenly squatted down in front of him, leaving Wu Bie stiffly seated in the chair.

Ash from the cigarette fell to the floor as Huo Zhanyan took the cigarette from Wu Bie’s hand and extinguished it in the ashtray. Seeing the cigarette butts in the tray, Huo Zhanyan calmly but with slight reproach said, “Why are you smoking so much? You’re not pulling an all-nighter on a ship.”

A faint mist of humidity hung around Wu Bie as Huo Zhanyan leaned in too close. He wanted to tell him to back off, but Huo Zhanyan’s eager, puppy-like expression made it hard to say anything harsh, even if he wasn’t fond of the situation.

“Wu Ge, don’t leave tonight, okay? Go down the mountain with me tomorrow morning.”

He wasn’t here for a vacation. Wu Bie suddenly remembered why he had come to find Huo Zhanyan. He pulled out the elevator key card from his pocket and threw it at Huo Zhanyan.

“Here’s your card back. Don’t expect me to help with those stupid plants of yours at home.”

Huo Zhanyan closed his eyes for a moment. He picked up the card, playing with it between his fingers. “You still haven’t answered my question.”

“What, you think I’m staying here? I’ll be gone soon.”

“That’s not what I meant.” Huo Zhanyan looked up and met Wu Bie’s eyes. “Did you miss me? Were you afraid I wouldn’t get back to you, so you came to find me? I already told you I missed you. At least answer my question.”

Wu Bie glanced down at Huo Zhanyan with a slight smile, saying, “Too many people miss me. You’ll have to wait in line.”

Compared to Wu Bie’s confidence, Huo Zhanyan was still a bit inexperienced.

But Huo Zhanyan, thick-skinned as he was, pleaded shamelessly, “Let me cut in line, Ge. I definitely miss you more than anyone else.”

For a brief moment, Wu Bie was stunned, his heart skipping a beat.

The sudden sound of an incoming WeChat video call interrupted their heated gaze. Wu Bie turned his face away, pulling out his phone, as if afraid Huo Zhanyan would notice his panic. Without thinking, he answered the call. When the faces of Chen Xian and some old colleagues appeared on the screen, he looked at the WeChat note in surprise—it was a video request from Chen Xian.

What the hell?!

“Wu Bie! Why didn’t you come?!” Someone grabbed Chen Xian’s phone, shoving their drunken face into the camera, slurring their words.

Wu Bie gestured for Huo Zhanyan to stay quiet, then gave an awkward smile at the camera, holding his phone a bit lower. “Next time… I’ll definitely come next time.”

Someone else snatched the phone and waved a photo in front of the camera. “You missed out big time! My wife wanted to introduce you to a girl—just look at her! She’s gorgeous. You’d definitely like her.”

The camera was shaking too much to make out the photo, and even if Wu Bie had seen it clearly, he wouldn’t have cared.

But before he could say anything, a powerful force pushed his hand aside. He didn’t have time to react before Huo Zhanyan pressed him down onto the lounge chair. The next second, Wu Bie felt a warmth on his lips, and Huo Zhanyan’s nimble tongue slid between his lips, tangling with his.

“Mm…” Wu Bie gripped his phone tightly, terrified the camera might catch something inappropriate. He tried to struggle with one hand but was no match for Huo Zhanyan.

Huo Zhanyan, following the rocking motion of the lounge chair, pressed down on Wu Bie even more. He held the back of Wu Bie’s head, deepening the kiss. Kissing alone wasn’t enough—Huo Zhanyan seemed possessed, even biting at his lips.

A slight sting from the bite made Wu Bie taste blood. Out of nowhere, he found the strength to shove Huo Zhanyan in the chest, and with a clenched fist, he punched him in the face.

Caught off balance, Huo Zhanyan fell to his knees in front of him.

On the other end of the call, someone, having noticed Wu Bie’s prolonged absence, shouted, “Wu Bie? Where are you?”

“What was that noise? Where even are you?”

“I’ve got something to take care of. I’ll call you later.” Wu Bie swiftly ended the call, angrily wiping his lips. A faint blood stain appeared on the back of his hand, and seeing the blood, his temper flared. Pointing at Huo Zhanyan, he yelled, “Are you out of your mind?!”

Huo Zhanyan stared straight at Wu Bie’s finger. Before Wu Bie could react, he leaned forward and licked the blood on Wu Bie’s hand with his pink tongue, gently caressing his fingers.

The moist touch made Wu Bie’s skin crawl, and the desire in Huo Zhanyan’s eyes frightened him. His face turned visibly red, veins bulging from his neck, as he shouted, “What the hell? Are you playing some twisted game with me?”
