Blinded by Lust chapter 27

After sending the address, Huo Zhanyan sent several more messages.

“Wu Ge, how are you?”

“Do you have signal now?”

“Has the ship already passed the center of the typhoon?”

Wu Bie’s WeChat was as silent as death. Despite Huo Zhanyan persistent attempts to call and video chat Wu Bie, he received no reply, even after the calls were disconnected.

Huo Zhanyan’s heart plummeted. Was this message one Wu Bie sent after struggling to find a signal, or was it the last message he sent before encountering some danger?

If it’s the latter possibility… Huo Zhanyan gripped his phone tightly, afraid to think further.

……….

The sea conditions that day were relatively normal. With the cargo ship’s speed reduced, the impact of wind and waves was minimal, allowing everyone to work and live normally in the living quarters.

Wu Bie had covered the captain’s shift for most of the day and had finally earned a break after working for ten hours. The phone still had no signal, so he decided to sleep while he could. When he woke up, the small piece of sky outside the window was still dark, and he realized it was already evening.

He had been so tense earlier that he barely ate. Now his stomach growled, and he wanted something hot. He pulled out some instant noodles he had bought in Cherbourg and slowly made his way to the kitchen to find hot water.

After mealtime, the kitchen items had all been put away. Fortunately, there was still some hot water available. Wu Bie prepared his noodles and found a corner to sit in. With nothing to do, he took out his phone. The signal was intermittently flashing, sometimes present, sometimes not, and nothing would load.

“Hey.” Wu Bie sighed, opening Zhanyan’s WeChat profile. The chat content still showed the conversation about the ship encountering a typhoon, with his last few messages still unread. However, he was surprised to find that one of the messages, which asked for Zhanyan’s address, was marked as sent successfully.

Unfortunately, due to poor signal on his end, he hadn’t received a reply from Zhanyan, so he didn’t know whether she had seen it or not.

Wu Bie put down his phone and began stirring the noodles in his bowl with a fork, just as footsteps and voices came from the direction of the stairs.

“I’m tired of bread these past few days. Get me something better.”

Wu Bie recognized this voice—it was Qin Mochong. Maybe it was his sensitivity, but since he learned about Qin Mochong’s relationship with Tan Yi, he became particularly attuned to his voice. If Qin Mochong was here, was Tan Yi with him?

“My master, Mr. Zhang said the situation is special now. We don’t know when we can dock, and the food supplies are tight. It’s past mealtime, so he doesn’t want me messing with the kitchen stuff.”

As expected, Tan Yi.

Qin Mochong wasn’t pleased. “When I was on duty during mealtime, I couldn’t just leave. Your master, your master, always talking about your master. Does your master have any humanity? I sacrificed my meal time for the safety of the whole ship.”

The kitchen wasn’t his call; he was just a small helper. Tan Yi felt wronged.

Qin Mochong pointed to his head. “And I got a head injury saving you. Otherwise, you’d have been thrown out of the cabin by now.”

Qin Mochong exaggerated things, but Tan Yi couldn’t refute him since Mochong did get injured helping him. Tan Yi had no choice but to take some prepared ingredients from the freezer.

Wu Bie wanted to leave because he had a sense that something inappropriate was about to happen, but he had chosen the most secluded spot, backed against the wall, with a cupboard beside him as cover. If he tried to leave, it would surely attract their attention.

Before he could figure out how to make his exit, Tan Yi’s voice came from the stove.

“Don’t do that.” Tan Yi’s voice was restrained, as if afraid of being heard but also hesitant to openly resist Qin Mochong.

Qin Mochong casually replied, “There’s no one else around. Everyone is resting in their rooms. No one will come. You do your thing, I’ll do mine. I won’t disturb you. Are you going to get hard from this?”

With a loud crash, Wu Bie felt like something exploded in his head. Tan Yi’s voice quickly shifted from restrained to sticky.

Fuck!

Wu Bie swore internally, feeling furious and disgusted. At the same time, he envied Qin Mochong. Why did this young, immature kid get to enjoy such a desirable life on the ship, while he felt like a monk with no enjoyment at all?

“Isn’t there a fried egg? Give me one.”

Qin Mochong kept provoking Wu Bie. Wu Bie glanced at his instant noodles. Qin Mochong could have eggs, while he was stuck with just noodles.

He wanted to kill these shameless people!

Wu Bie only dared to vent his frustration silently. He waited until the two finished their intimate moments before taking his hot meal and leaving the kitchen, finally getting a moment to breathe.

Opening the lid of the noodle container, he found the soup had gotten cold. Wu Bie angrily shoved all the noodles into his mouth and quickly left this troubling place.

After such a shocking scene, Wu Bie was wide awake. He stood on the second deck, smoking and catching his breath.

Seeing others being so affectionate made him miss Zhanyan even more. He wondered what Zhanyan was doing, whether she was eating well, how her leg was, and if she was worried about him.

He habitually reached for his phone. When the screen lit up, he saw one bar of signal and a “ding” as a WeChat message popped up. Seeing Zhanyan’s name nearly made him shout.

xx Hospital. The message was incomplete. Wu Bie tremblingly unlocked his phone, his fingers not cooperating. Just as he managed to open the message, a loud crash shook the ship violently, and Wu Bie’s phone slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.

“Shit!” He frantically tried to pick up his phone. As he bent down, he nearly lost his balance and almost hit his forehead on the ground. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and braced himself with his hands.

The ship continued to sway, tilting at a severe angle. Some unsecured items, including Wu Bie’s phone, slid across the deck toward the edge of the ship.

“No! No! Ah!” Wu Bie stretched out his arm, trying to reach for the phone on the ground. Every time he tried to stand up, he had to grip the nearby railing due to the rocking of the ship. He watched helplessly as his phone slid off the edge of the deck and, with the ship’s movement, fell effortlessly into the sea.

Wu Bie rolled around on the deck, trying in vain to fight against nature. He was tossed around, knocking his knees and finally coming to a stop.

“Damn it! Ah!”

His anguished cries attracted the attention of others on the ship, and the cargo ship gradually started to stabilize.

“What’s wrong? What happened?”

Wu Bie crawled to the railing. He seemed like a mute who had lost the ability to speak, frantically gesturing towards the sea. Realizing he couldn’t speak, he even considered jumping over the railing.

“Hey!” Everyone was startled by Wu Bie. A few people rushed over and lifted him down.

“Who fell off?”

The crowd was shaken, and they all leaned over the railing. The dark, churning sea revealed nothing but water.

Wu Bie let out a mournful cry, his cheeks flushed red as he finally found his voice. “Ah! My phone!”

Hearing that it was just a phone, everyone relaxed, realizing it was a false alarm.

“It’s just a phone, there’s nothing we can do.”

Given the current situation, and even without the storm, if a phone falls into the sea, it’s not likely to be recovered.

Wu Bie jumped up, ran into the cabin, and rummaged through his room for paper and pen, quickly jotting down the name of the hospital.

He really wanted to cry. He had signal just a moment ago, and he might have been able to reply to Zhanyan’s message. Now, the phone was lost, along with the SIM card. Even if the ship reached an area with signal, he wouldn’t remember Zhanyan’s WeChat ID, and even if he got a new phone and SIM card, he wouldn’t be able to contact her.

“Stupid hands!” Wu Bie slapped his own hands twice in frustration. “How could I not hold onto a phone!”

“Wu Ge?” A puzzled voice came from the door.

Wu Bie turned to see Tan Yi and Qin Mochong standing at the door.

“I heard your voice just now,” Tan Yi explained. The crowd on the deck had dispersed, and he had heard them talking about Wu Bie. He came to check and was surprised to see Wu Bie hitting himself, “Are you okay?”

Wu Bie frowned, his eyes red and sweat pouring down his face, clearly agitated. His gaze fell on the red marks on Tan Yi’s neck, which were quite conspicuous.

“Wu Ge?” Tan Yi asked with concern.

Wu Bie cast a sideways glance at Qin Mochong behind Tan Yi, a fiery jealousy burning in his chest. He was irritated with everyone at the moment, especially homosexuals, particularly those on the ship.

Tan Yi was startled by the anger in Wu Bie’s eyes. Not knowing what he had done to provoke such anger, he instinctively took a step back, bumping into Qin Mochong’s chest.

A strong hand landed on Tan Yi’s shoulder, and Qin Mochong held him back, preventing him from retreating further.

Qin Mochong understood the situation, “Wu Ge should be fine. Let’s go and not disturb him.”

“Ah… oh…okay” Tan Yi hesitated, glancing back at Wu Bie a few times before following Qin Mochong away. They hadn’t gone far when they heard Wu Bie’s pained wail.

“Ah!”

Tan Yi shuddered in fear, instinctively clutching Qin Mochong’s sleeve. He was worried—was Wu Bie really okay?
