Evil Love Appears chapter 87
By the time Fu Jing finished making the fried sauce noodles, Fu Xiaoyu had already taken another nap.
He still looked listless, eating his noodles one strand at a time. He seemed to have no appetite at all, which left Fu Jing extremely concerned.
Halfway through his meal, Fu Xiaoyu suddenly asked, “Dad, how did you find out about my breakup? Did Wang Xiaoshan tell you?”
As soon as he asked, he immediately realized it wasn’t the case. Without his permission, Wang Xiaoshan would never dare to reveal this.
“No,” Fu Jing added a few strands of cucumber into his son’s bowl and hesitated before saying, “It was that person surnamed Xu. You changed your profile picture, deleted your Moments, and your aunt and I were already wondering. We hadn’t had a chance to ask you, but he called your aunt this afternoon. He said some meaningless apologies and insisted that we should look after you.”
“Of course, I was really worried and rushed here by high-speed rail. Your aunt also wanted to come with me to see you, but I didn’t let her because I thought you might find it annoying with more people. When you feel better, your aunt will take you out to relax. Everything will pass, okay?”
Fu Xiaoyu listened to his father’s ramblings while holding his chopsticks, looking dazed. Afterward, he pushed the noodles around in his bowl and stood up, saying softly, “Dad, I’m still tired. I’ll lie down in my room for a while. It’s late, and you should rest in the guest room. There are some blankets in the cupboard.”
“You’ve only eaten a few bites…” Fu Jing was getting desperate, but his tone immediately softened. “Alright, get some rest. Don’t think about him, okay?”
“Yeah,” Fu Xiaoyu forced a faint smile, “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Fu Jing temporarily stayed in Junya.
He remembered the first time he came here, he took more than a hundred photos, shared them on several Moments, proudly claiming it was his son’s new house.
Even though he loved this house, this was the first time he had spent two full days in his son’s house since Fu Xiaoyu’s return to China. However, he was not in the mood to admire the luxury villa at all. Every day, he went out to the morning market to buy fresh food for Fu Xiaoyu, cooked a variety of delicious dishes, made crab and chicken soup, but Fu Xiaoyu had lost his appetite.
Fu Xiaoyu was always reserved in his words, but in the past few days, he was almost silent. Except for explaining the reasons for the breakup with his aunt, he hardly spoke about anything else. He always appeared as if nothing was wrong.
But the calmer he looked, the more worried Fu Jing became.
Before coming, Tang Ning had earnestly advised him to control his temper.
He had listened to her, and these days, even when he was burning with anger, he hadn’t mentioned anything related to Xu Jiale in front of Fu Xiaoyu.
However, on the third night, after carefully preparing Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Fu Xiaoyu had eaten only a few bites and left to rest upstairs.
Fu Jing cleaned up the dishes for a while and felt frustrated. Unable to bear it, he quietly went upstairs to check on his son.
Fu Xiaoyu was wrapped up in his blanket, looking even thinner, quietly lying there with his eyes closed, seemingly asleep.
It wasn’t even late, but Fu Jing had never seen his usually busy and strong-willed son look so listless.
Fu Jing opened the door slightly but could only grasp the doorknob tightly as he stared.
His Omega son was not ill, nor was he running a fever, but day by day, he seemed to be losing his spirit, becoming more and more haggard. The sight of Fu Xiaoyu growing more and more emaciated and fragile was like a knife through his heart.
Why?
Why did his son have to be hurt like this?
The more he looked, the more he felt a surge of anger rushing to his head. He almost exerted all his strength to control himself. Quietly, he closed the door and went downstairs. When he was sure Fu Xiaoyu couldn’t hear him, he started walking, stomping out of the door.
He just couldn’t bear it.
He still remembered where Xu Jiale lived.
As he was on his way to Xu Jiale’s place in a taxi, Fu Jing called Xu Jiale with a number he rarely used.
“Xu, where are you right now?” he angrily shouted as soon as the call connected.
Xu Jiale hadn’t quite grasped the situation yet. “Who are you…?”
“I am Fu Xiaoyu’s father, and I am coming to find you. Just wait for me.”
“Uncle, should I go and find…”
Fu Jing didn’t even let him finish his sentence and hung up the phone harshly.
The high-end residential area in the North District wasn’t too far from his location. However, the driver was unfamiliar with the area, and Fu Jing didn’t know the exact house number. They circled around two blocks before he recognized Xu Jiale’s house from his previous visit.
The taxi stopped across the street from Xu Jiale’s house, and as soon as Fu Jing got out of the car, he saw a shiny black car pulling up outside Xu Jiale’s villa.
It was already dusk, and he couldn’t clearly see the type of car, but he had a strong hunch it was a luxurious one. The sight only fueled his certainty.
The door of the driver’s seat of the black car opened first, and a sturdy Alpha walked to the rear car door, bending down to open it. Another tall Alpha was currently getting out. From a distance, the second Alpha’s figure seemed like it could be Xu Jiale, who Fu Jing had only seen once.
The thought of Xu Jiale made Fu Jing’s temples pound, and he couldn’t think straight. He approached the scene with large strides, shouting, “Xu Jiale!”
“What are you doing?”
The Alpha who had been opening the car door had an extremely fast reaction time. He growled and swiftly turned, using his full strength to push Fu Jing away.
Fu Jing was bewildered for a moment. He couldn’t put his feelings into words.
This feeling made him anxious. He was almost fifty years old, and he started worrying about his physical vulnerability after stumbling like that.
“Uncle Yu,…!”
When the Alpha got out of the car, he and Xu Jiale both called out.
Breathless, Fu Jing leaned against the wall. By now, he finally realized his mistake of confusing the person thinking it was Xu Jiale.
When Xu Jiale got out of the car from the passenger seat, his mind was completely blank, except for one thought – “Damn.” He didn’t know who to plead with at this moment. He just prayed to any deity or higher power that no one would get hurt.
“Uncle, are you okay?”
In his haste, he couldn’t even think about politeness or avoiding suspicion. He rushed over to assist Fu Jing, not knowing where to place his hands, and asked in a shaky voice, “Is there any pain? Is your back okay?”
Fu Jing was also somewhat disoriented and touched his back, saying, “My back is fine…”
Although he had plenty of experience in physical altercations, this time was different. He hadn’t even organized his thoughts yet, but he felt that the Alpha who pushed him had done it swiftly, precisely, and efficiently, unlike an ordinary person.
“Uncle Yu, you—”
Xu Jiale turned back, his eyes filled with anger, but he stopped himself before he could finish the sentence.
Of course, he knew that blaming Uncle Yu, who was both a driver and a bodyguard, was pointless. It was part of his job, and this wasn’t the time for empty talk.
“Slow down, is there any discomfort? Xu Jiale, do you know this person?” The older Alpha who was mistaken for Xu Jiale earlier came over and helped Fu Jing, showing concern.
He was wearing a linen casual shirt and had a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. He stood nearby and asked with genuine care.
The developments had occurred too quickly, and at the moment, another tall, older Omega also walked over but stood at a slight distance from them. Fu Jing could faintly sense his gaze sweep across his face.
“Is this Fu Xiaoyu’s dad?” The Omega asked.
“Yes.”
Xu Jiale responded. He had focused all his energy on Fu Jing, holding Fu Jing’s hand and saying softly, “Uncle, I’ll support you. Can you move your leg a little? Does it hurt?”
Fu Jing, following Xu Jiale’s lead, stood up. It did seem like his legs weren’t feeling much pain, and he felt a bit more at ease.
With his anger returning at full throttle, he was surrounded by people from the Xu family. The other Omega’s pheromones were overwhelming, and he even had a bodyguard. In his anger, he also felt a hint of humiliation.
“Get off… Ah!”
He shook his hand in an attempt to push Xu Jiale away, but he immediately found the painful spot – his wrist, which was probably injured when he stumbled earlier.
“I’ll take you to the hospital,” Xu Jiale said. He didn’t dare touch Fu Jing carelessly.
He glanced at his family members and immediately decided to drive Fu Jing himself.
“Uncle, I know you have something to say, so why don’t I take you to the hospital? You can tell me while I drive.”
He knew that appeasing Fu Jing was probably not going to be easy, especially considering the circumstances.
But he carefully helped the silent Fu Jing into his parked Tesla in the driveway.
“Xiao Xu,” Xu Lang whispered as they got into the car, “Take a good look and make sure to check for more than just external injuries.”
On the way to the hospital, Xu Jiale noticed that Fu Jing had a stern expression and didn’t seem to be making any phone calls. Although they had broken up, he couldn’t afford not to notify Fu Xiaoyu. So, he reluctantly dialed Fu Xiaoyu’s number.
Xu Jiale took Fu Jing to the best hospital in the North City. He had arranged things in advance, so they encountered no delays upon arrival. Just as they were about to take Fu Jing to see a specialist, Fu Xiaoyu rushed in.
“Dad!”
Fu Xiaoyu had run all the way to get there. He didn’t even have time to glance at Xu Jiale, rushing to support his father’s shoulder. “Are you okay? What happened?”
“Nothing… nothing’s wrong,” Fu Jing said. “Just scraped my wrist a bit, that’s all.”
There didn’t appear to be any visible external injuries, but he looked a little pale.
Fu Xiaoyu examined Fu Jing closely, his chest filled with anger, but he couldn’t let it out at the moment. He immediately turned around, seized Xu Jiale by the collar, and pinned the Alpha against the wall. “Xu Jiale, what the hell are you doing?”
He rarely got this impulsive, even if he took an extra second to think rationally. He knew it was probably not Xu Jiale’s fault, but this time he was too agitated, had nowhere to vent, and couldn’t control himself.
Xu Jiale didn’t explain. He just stared at the Omega’s face, mere inches away, and suddenly seemed lost in thought.
He still remembered the first time he had angered Fu Xiaoyu in a pub. The Omega had been just like this, grabbing his collar and pressing him against the wall with so much force that it broke the glass in his hand, making his knuckles bleed.
Fu Xiaoyu still had that fiery and reckless temperament when he was angry.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still.
“Xiaoyu, he didn’t do anything. This has nothing to do with him. It was my impulsiveness.”
Although Fu Jing knew he had been somewhat embarrassed this time, he felt the need to explain. The Xu family may not be full of saints, but he didn’t want to wrong Xu Jiale.
“Mr. Xu, you should hurry to see the specialist. We’ve already made arrangements, so don’t waste any time,” a nurse from the consultation room called out at the same time.
Fu Xiaoyu didn’t say anything further. He just released Xu Jiale while still looking furious, and turned to help Fu Jing to his feet.
As Xu Jiale had arranged things beforehand, Fu Jing underwent a series of thorough examinations at the hospital. Due to the extensive check-up, there were several administrative procedures, and Xu Jiale ran back and forth several times. He also brought them hot drinks; Fu Jing had hot milk tea, while Fu Xiaoyu got honey lemon water.
During the waiting time, Fu Jing and Fu Xiaoyu sat together on a bench, while Xu Jiale silently sat on a chair on the other side of the corridor, waiting for the results. He took a phone call in a low voice at one point.
When the results finally came out, it turned out there was nothing seriously wrong. There were no issues with Fu Jing’s back, waist, or legs, just a minor sprain in the wrist. It was nothing severe but would require a few days of rest.
Xu Jiale organized the pile of examination results into a folder, then took a deep breath and walked over to Fu Jing and Fu Xiaoyu. He spoke in a low voice, “Uncle, these are the examination results, and there shouldn’t be anything major. However, just to be safe, take care of yourself in the coming days. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, make sure to come back here for a check-up. You can rest assured… I’ve already informed everyone. When you come, just ask for Dr. Zhao; I will handle any issues you might have. If Fu Xiaoyu is accompanying you, don’t worry about encountering me.”
When Fu Xiaoyu heard the last sentence, he turned his head slightly, refusing to say a word.
As Fu Jing looked at the Alpha bending down and speaking to him, his heart was still filled with anger. But this anger, after everything that had happened, had been diluted with a tinge of sadness.
Being a father was indeed challenging. One moment, he wished that this person had never appeared in Fu Xiaoyu’s life, and the next moment, he was filled with an indescribable sense of frustration.
Fu Jing stood up, originally intending to say nothing. However, as he took a few steps with Fu Xiaoyu, he couldn’t hold back any longer.
“Xu Jiale,” he gritted his teeth, saying each word deliberately. “You only care about your son and being responsible for him, just as any parent would. But what about my son? Don’t you have any responsibility toward him? Aren’t you afraid he’ll be hurt?”
