Evil Love Appears chapter 7
“You don’t believe in the core value of this product.”
This statement suddenly made Fu Xiaoyu feel a long-suppressed anger welling up in his chest.
“Why should I believe in it?” he retorted.
For so long, in the workplace, he had been more like a cold robot. Even when he had heated arguments with Xu Jiale in the office, to the extent that they needed Wen Ke to mediate, he had never lost his composure.
But this time, his tone was unusually agitated. “In today’s society, we clearly have advanced technology that can efficiently perform pheromone matching. So why should we resort to outdated psychological testing methods? Yes, I indeed don’t believe in the core value of this product. Not only do I not believe in it, but I also don’t endorse it. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t use this inefficient method to find a partner.”
His words were sharp, and Fu Xiaoyu knew immediately that he had lost control. Attacking a product he had developed was hurtful.
Perhaps he had never truly accepted the concept of End-of-Love from the bottom of his heart. After all, it was Wen Ke’s product, a child nurtured by Wen Ke, filled with Wen Ke and Xu Jiale’s romantic and whimsical ideas.
His involvement had only come about because Han Jiangque had secretly approached him to help plan. And with a seven-figure salary from the Han family, he couldn’t refuse.
“So, that’s why you suggested earlier that we should also incorporate the pheromone matching system into the app, right? You want End-of-Love to be like any other app on the market.”
Xu Jiale responded slowly and deliberately, “Because, in your view, the psychological testing part is unnecessary. It’s just a gimmick using the prestige of M University. In other words, in your opinion, my expertise is just a gimmick, isn’t it?”
Some questions he already knew the answers to.
So, after carefully choosing his words, he asked in a risky way, as if tossing a tangled ball of yarn. He knew the cat couldn’t resist going after it.
And once that happened, he would cunningly convince himself that he could respond with an even more hostile attitude.
“Yes.”
Fu Xiaoyu said it cleanly. His eyes became rounder when he was angry.
“Fu Xiaoyu, we both have A-level pheromones, right? Suppose we had a 99% match—”
Xu Jiale asked, “Do you think we could be together?”
Fu Xiaoyu was stunned, and his heart skipped a beat.
When conversing with Xu Jiale, he often felt like he was in a game with rules he didn’t understand, and as a result, he became extremely passive.
“You see, the very practical problem is that it’s definitely impossible. Because I dislike you, and you dislike me.”
Xu Jiale had just finished smoking. Since there was no trash can nearby, he took a metal cigarette case out of his pocket, carefully placed the cigarette butt inside, and then continued nonchalantly, “Dislike is an intuitive emotion; a person’s words, actions, and even micro-expressions provide rich emotional feedback to another person. Pheromones can never change a person’s most basic and intuitive emotions. Dislike is dislike, and like is like. Emotions accumulate and shape a person’s feelings towards another. Emotions—flow from the heart.”
Fu Xiaoyu’s complexion suddenly turned pale, and he immediately realized that in Xu Jiale’s previous words—
The 99% match was an assumption, but what followed was what he truly wanted to say.
He disliked him.
Dislike was an intuitive emotion, a feeling that flowed from the heart, just like the feedback from so many people before.
Xu Jiale’s attack was silent but casual.
He struck and left, changing the topic lightly. “But since that’s the case, why did you join? If I remember correctly, you approached Wen Ke yourself, expressing interest in joining, right?”
That was a question Fu Xiaoyu absolutely couldn’t answer.
“Xu Jiale, why I joined is my personal matter, and it has nothing to do with you. But rest assured, my personal preferences won’t affect my professional competence. I firmly believe that every piece of advice I’ve given can take the project further.”
Fu Xiaoyu stood tall because of those words from earlier, his chin raised high, exuding an air of arrogance, and said each word carefully, “And, there’s one more thing you’re right about. I also dislike you.”
Unexpectedly, when he heard those words, Xu Jiale actually smiled, revealing his white teeth.
Just at that moment, Fu Xiaoyu’s taxi arrived. He still bent down like before, gentlemanly opening the car door for Fu Xiaoyu, and sang two lines of lyrics he had pieced together from somewhere, humming with a smile, “Let’s not owe each other anything, and no one has to say sorry~~”
He even felt like singing.
The moment Fu Xiaoyu closed the car door, he couldn’t maintain the tough attitude he had just displayed. He leaned back against the car seat, exhausted, and closed his eyes.
……………………………………..
After resolving the questionnaire and reducing the questions, Fu Xiaoyu worked late until midnight almost every day.
During the frenzy of work, many issues seemed to disappear. He didn’t have time to dwell on Xu Jiale’s words, intending to throw that evening’s incident into the trash.
He didn’t want any emotions that might affect his efficiency.
Fu Xiaoyu had prepared a comprehensive marketing plan for the End-of-Love Team, which, at the moment, was shining brightly.
At the end of it all, he presented the app idea together with Wen Ke to the representatives of Blue Rain and Xia Xingzhi stood up, shook hands with them, and said, “Being able to hear such a proposal is an honor for Blue Rain.”
Receiving such praise from the investors meant that they had won a significant victory.
That night, Wen Ke, Han Jiangque, Xu Jiale, and Fu Xiaoyu went to a pub to celebrate together.
Fu Xiaoyu downed more than a dozen shots, heading straight to the dance floor.
Wen Ke was overjoyed. Though he was willing, he only drank some watermelon juice and sugar-free cola, but he still joined in, heading towards the dance floor. He couldn’t really dance, and his limbs were awkward, making him look like a giant doll with springs in a children’s playground.
Han Jiangque didn’t dare to leave him alone to dance around. After entering the dance floor together, he suddenly ran back and grabbed Xu Jiale, who was drinking at the bar. “Hey!”
The pub was too loud, and his “hey” was deafening.
“What?” Xu Jiale yelled back lazily.
“Take a look over there!” Han Jiangque pointed with his finger at Fu Xiaoyu, who was dancing in the distance in the crowd, and explained, “I used to be the one dancing with him, but not today. He’s an omega; you should look after him.”
Xu Jiale raised his glass lazily, indicating that he understood.
He didn’t really want to get involved, but when you were out together, it was still the responsibility of an alpha.
So, at first, he just helped Han Jiangque keep an eye on Fu Xiaoyu from a distance. Omegas in a bar were different from their usual self.
Fu Xiaoyu swayed his head amidst the moving crowd, raising one hand high and moving his body. He had entered an unusual, wild world.
The collar of his silk shirt was partially undone, revealing delicate collarbones.
Sweat streamed down his smooth forehead, and the dazzling lights made Xu Jiale unable to resist curiosity. What would the sweat on this beautiful omega’s body taste like?
That strange thought for a moment made Xu Jiale furrow his brows.
He understood why Han Jiangque had specifically instructed him to look after Fu Xiaoyu. Too many alphas were hovering around him, and these Alphas were getting too close. Even in a bar, it was no longer a safe distance.
With a sigh, Xu Jiale put down the glass of whiskey in his hand and discarded his vest outside his shirt. Step by step, he walked into the dance floor.
The pub’s dance floor was playing “Angetenar” by Rompasso.

Wow, the song at the end is really alluring! I can imagine both the scenarios of Xu Jiale slowly approaching his prey, and then Fu Yiao Yu being lost in the music, unknowingly seducing the hunter!
