Pheromone Deficiency Syndrome chapter 4
Red Tea
In the last few days on G6 Star, Gu Jinyi initially thought he would be very busy, but later found out it wasn’t the case.
The people left by Xie Huaizhou were very capable. The guards firmly blocked the harassment from the Gu and Chu families, and someone was responsible for counting and taking over Chu Miyun’s assets. When he went to Baidi Star, they would also report to him regularly.
What he really needed to do was to cooperate with the private doctor left by Xie Huaizhou for physical examinations.
As Xie Huaizhou said when he first saw him, he was too thin, looking very weak, wrapped in a long coat like a drifting reed, which could be blown away by the wind at any time.
The doctor was very patient with him, guiding him to lie down in the examination cabin. After half an hour inside, a report on his physical condition came out.
Gu Jinyi originally thought he might just have a bit of anemia, but the doctor’s expression became serious.
“Mr. Gu, have you had surgery?” the doctor asked.
Gu Jinyi was stunned for a moment. “Yes, but that was a few years ago, and I’ve recovered.”
He said it casually, as if it were just a minor surgery.
But the doctor only glanced at the report and roughly knew what type of surgery it was.
But since Gu Jinyi didn’t want to elaborate, the doctor didn’t pry further.
“Okay, I see,” the doctor smiled at him, “Your body is still relatively weak now. When you arrive at Baidi Star, I will tailor a recuperation plan for you.”
Seeing that Gu Jinyi seemed to want to decline, he added slowly, “This is also to provide high-quality pheromones for Mr. Xie.”
Gu Jinyi could only remain silent.
.
In the blink of an eye, it was the last day for Gu Jinyi and Chu Xiaonian on G6 Star.
Everything they needed to bring had been packed and stored properly. The entire mansion seemed to have lost a lot of its liveliness in an instant, even though none of the furniture was missing.
Gu Jinyi carried Chu Xiaonian in his arms and walked slowly around the house, not missing any corner.
They had lived in this villa for four years. The single sofa by the window was where Chu Miyun often sat, the small study upstairs was his studio, and the play area for Chu Xiaonian was next to the living room on the first floor. Occasionally, when Chu Miyun wasn’t too busy with work, they would have picnics in the yard.
The bits and pieces of the past four years seemed to dissipate slowly with the decrease in commonly used items in the room.
In the future, this mansion would never have the warmth and tranquility it used to. It would gradually become an uninhabited empty house.
Chu Xiaonian lay in Gu Jinyi’s arms, tears hanging on his eyelashes, dripping down steadily, but he didn’t protest against leaving.
Gu Jinyi had already explained to him yesterday that because Mommy couldn’t come back for the time being, they were going to move to a strange planet and live with an uncle named Xie.
Gu Jinyi didn’t speak ill of the Chu family to him, but Chu Xiaonian had vaguely understood from the recent chaos caused by the Chu family that these people wanted to take him away, and some even wanted to deceive him into going to their own homes.
So, although he was reluctant, he held onto Gu Jinyi’s neck and whispered, “Daddy, if we leave, will those people not be able to find us?”
He tried to understand the situation with his limited thinking.
Gu Jinyi patted his head and said softly, “Yes, they won’t find us.”
“Then can Mommy find us?” Chu Xiaonian asked worriedly. “Daddy, did you leave an address for Mommy?”
Gu Jinyi was tortured by this question and could hardly look Chu Xiaonian in the eye.
The child’s eyes were clear and innocent, looking at him eagerly for an answer.
In the end, he forced a smile and said, “Yes, she can find us. Wherever Xiaonian is, Mommy can find him.”
Chu Xiaonian felt relieved.
“Then I’ll go with Daddy.” He whispered in Gu Jinyi’s ear, as if saying a secret afraid of being heard by others.
But in this house, besides them, no one else would ever live in it again.
Chu Miyun left, and this once home was permanently sealed in place.
The next evening, Gu Jinyi took Chu Xiaonian on the Xie family’s spacecraft.
This time, only the two of them set off. The nanny, who had been taking care of Chu Xiaonian, was reluctant to let them go. But her home was on G6 Star, and she couldn’t leave, so she could only send Gu Jinyi and Chu Xiaonian to the door with tears in her eyes. She helped Chu Xiaonian put on his scarf for the last time, patted his head, and said, “Listen to Daddy when you get to Baidi Star.”
Chu Xiaonian nodded vigorously, then reluctantly pulled on his nanny’s sleeve. “Granny Chen, I’ll come back to see you when I have a vacation.”
Granny Chen smiled. “Okay.”
She wiped her tears and looked at Gu Jinyi again.
She didn’t know about the agreement between Gu Jinyi and Xie Huaizhou. She only knew that Gu Jinyi was leaving with the master’s family, and she thought it was because the master’s family had a good relationship with Chu Miyun that they had helped Gu Jinyi and Chu Xiaonian. She thought it was better to leave than to stay in G6 Star and be plotted against by the Chu family, but she still couldn’t help worrying. She could only pat Gu Jinyi’s hand and say softly, “Take care, Mr. Gu.”
There were no traces of tears on Gu Jinyi’s face.
It had been two months, and it was enough for him to overcome his grief.
If he were still a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy, he could cry as much as he wanted, and no one would blame him. He had the right to be willful.
But now he was twenty-six years old, a father of a child.
He had lost the qualification to be weak.
He was Chu Xiaonian’s last umbrella in the world.
“Don’t worry, I will take care of myself and Xiaonian.” Gu Jinyi said.
Actually, he didn’t know what the future held, but it couldn’t be worse than four years ago.
He let Chu Xiaonian hug Granny Chen for a while, then watched as the Xie family spacecraft landed steadily. He said goodbye to Chen and walked with Chu Xiaonian towards the spacecraft.
It wasn’t until they walked in that he realized that the person standing at the forefront was actually Xie Huaizhou himself.
He thought Xie Huaizhou would just send a secretary to pick them up. After all, he had already signed the contract, and there was no need for Xie Huaizhou to come in person.
Gu Jinyi stood in front of Xie Huaizhou, awkwardly calling out, “Mr. Xie.”
Then he let Chu Xiaonian greet Xie Huaizhou.
But he couldn’t be sure if Xie Huaizhou would like Chu Xiaonian. Although Xie Huaizhou was willing to temporarily let him sit in the position of “partner,” Chu Xiaonian was ultimately just the child of his “ex-wife.” He wasn’t sure if Xie Huaizhou would be willing to see such a child appear in his mansion—after all, even his biological father didn’t want him in the Gu family.
He looked nervously at Xie Huaizhou.
But Chu Xiaonian didn’t feel the turmoil in his father’s heart. Having been around Chu Miyun, who was naturally concerned about appearances, Chu Xiaonian ignored Xie Huaizhou’s distant demeanor and greeted him loudly, “Hello, Uncle Xie! I’m Chu Xiaonian, four years old this year.”
He even made a brief introduction of himself.
Xie Huaizhou subtly raised his eyebrows, he originally expected Chu Xiaonian to be a bit afraid of him. After all, children from the Xie family would always shy away from him when they saw him.
He glanced at Gu Jinyi and clearly saw the unease hidden on his face.
“Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Xie Huaizhou,” Xie Huaizhou took a small gift box from his secretary and handed it to Chu Xiaonian. “This is a gift for you.”
Chu Xiaonian almost exclaimed on the spot.
Because this was a limited edition set box of the most popular cartoon characters among kindergarten children now. Kids who owned it were practically able to swagger in the kindergarten.
But without Dad’s permission, he couldn’t accept gifts. He could only hold the box reluctantly, looking at Gu Jinyi with difficulty.
“Daddy, can I accept it?” he asked hypocritically, his face full of ‘I really want it.’
Gu Jinyi chuckled. “Then you should thank Uncle.”
Chu Xiaonian smiled, turned around, and pounced on Xie Huaizhou, giving him two kisses. “Thank you, Uncle!”
Now even the secretary and the bodyguard behind were inwardly shocked. There was actually a child bold enough to kiss their master, truly fearless.
Gu Jinyi didn’t expect his son to be so uninhibited. He quickly pulled him back and awkwardly handed a handkerchief to Xie Huaizhou.
“Sorry, Mr. Xie, Xiaonian just has no immunity to good-looking people,” Gu Jinyi was almost tongue-tied.
Xie Huaizhou took the handkerchief but didn’t wipe his face. Instead, he put it in the pocket of his chest.
“Let’s go up, don’t stand in the wind,” he naturally lifted Chu Xiaonian from Gu Jinyi’s arms, handed him to the nanny who had been waiting by the side, and then naturally held Gu Jinyi’s hand onto the spacecraft.
The hatch slowly closed, and the spacecraft once again soared into the sky, heading into the interstellar route.
Meanwhile, the G6 star where Gu Jinyi and Chu Xiaonian once lived and grew up was gradually receding. Looking through the window, only a dim star could be seen.
Gu Jinyi didn’t feel too much loss or reluctance, just for a moment feeling the impermanence of life.
When he was twenty, he thought he would leave G6 star forever, but he ended up coming back in the end.
And just when he thought he was going to settle down on G6 star and live a peaceful life, he ended up leaving again, and he might not come back for many years.
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but glance at Xie Huaizhou beside him again, wondering when Xie Huaizhou would end this contract and end this “marriage” with him.
He had also checked some information about “pheromone deficiency syndrome” in the past few days.
This was a rare case that only occurred in alphas, most of whom had lost their partners.
These alphas had a very high degree of compatibility with their partners and couldn’t accept the fact that they had lost their partners from the bottom of their hearts. Their bodies instinctively craved the soothing pheromones of their partners, which was why they became irritable and highly aggressive.
Therefore, “pheromone deficiency syndrome” was also called “bereavement syndrome.”
But in addition to these acquired cases, there were even rarer cases where people were born with a deficiency in pheromones. These patients suffered less than the former and were easier to cure.
Xie Huaizhou should belong to the latter type.
The Xie family’s private spacecraft was naturally more luxurious than ordinary interstellar transportation.
Because of Chu Xiaonian, the spacecraft also had an additional game room to prevent him from getting bored during the long flight. If he got tired of playing, there was a rest room next to it, where the nanny would accompany him.
So, after lunch, Chu Xiaonian obediently followed the nanny to the game room and showed no signs of discomfort as Gu Jinyi had imagined.
But he kept looking back at Gu Jinyi with some hesitation and asked, “Daddy isn’t coming?”
Gu Jinyi smiled apologetically at him, “Daddy needs to discuss something with Uncle Xie. We’ll meet during dinner.”
Chu Xiaonian looked a bit disappointed but nodded obediently.
Today, he was wearing a little dinosaur suit, chubby and round. As he walked, his dinosaur tail wagged back and forth. The nanny beside him was delighted, already smiling and asking if he wanted some snacks.
After the door to the game room closed again, Gu Jinyi reluctantly shifted his gaze away from Chu Xiaonian.
He glanced at Xie Huaizhou beside him, a bit unsure of what he should do.
Actually, he had nothing to discuss with Xie Huaizhou. He stayed here simply because ever since boarding this aircraft, his contract with Xie Huaizhou had come into effect.
Xie Huaizhou needed his pheromones for comfort through kisses, hugs, and prolonged companionship. In fact, just like the doctor said, the best way to comfort with pheromones was through sex.
But fortunately, Xie Huaizhou had graciously given up on this aspect.
So, to increase the amount of pheromones obtained, he had to seize every moment to stay by Xie Huaizhou’s side and try to let Xie Huaizhou capture more of his pheromones.
But now, Xie Huaizhou was busy with work, so he sat on the sofa beside him, feeling a bit lost for a moment.
There were no servants in the lounge as Xie Huaizhou had ordered not to be disturbed. After some thought, Gu Jinyi stood up and made a cup of coffee for Xie Huaizhou, gently placing it on the table. Then, he took out his own tablet and seriously studied the instructions given to him by the doctor on how to cooperate with Xie Huaizhou.
Xie Huaizhou noticed the coffee that appeared beside him.
He usually drank coffee to refresh himself, and the beans Gu Jinyi chose were his usual taste.
But he gently curled his lips and said to Gu Jinyi, “I don’t feel like drinking coffee today. I prefer tea.”
Gu Jinyi immediately put down the tablet and made a pot of tea for him.
As he busied himself at the counter, a soft and light scent of tea permeated the air, mixed with a faint sweetness, not dull at all, but reminiscent of the morning sun, dewy roses in the garden, and perfectly baked pancakes on the breakfast table.
It was a gentle and heartwarming scent.
It was also Gu Jinyi’s pheromone scent.
His pheromone code was KN346, with the aroma being Red Tea 07.
