Deep Desire chapter 4
Personal assistant
Lu Jingshen’s eyebrows twitched, but he didn’t respond to Feng Si’s question. He continued, “If you agree to what Secretary Liu mentioned yesterday, I will have her prepare the contract for you to sign.”
Feng Si smiled sarcastically, “personally inviting me, and willing to come and talk to me, I know I asked you to come but I didn’t think you actually would. So what’s the reason?”
Lu Jingshen replied, “The private jet company recommended you, and I don’t want to spend more time looking for someone else.”
“Alright, I’ll take it as you don’t want to bother finding a suitable pilot for the private jet. That’s why you personally came to invite me,” Feng Si emphasized the words “personally came to invite me” as if mocking him, “What about the personal bodyguard position? You can afford it, there are plenty of people lining up to serve you, why do you have to find me?”
Lu Jingshen didn’t answer, and he looked at Feng Si with a cold gaze. Feng Si leaned in closer, his tall figure looming over him, and they locked eyes. “Alex, which game are you playing this time?”
Although he was smiling, there was a hint of anger hidden in his eyes and his tone carried a taunting tone.
Lu Jingshen, who was already quite tall, still felt the immense pressure from Feng Si’s nearly two-meter tall stature. The room, without curtains or lights, was dimly lit. A dangerous and subtle atmosphere flowed between them as they breathed in each other’s presence.
Lu Jingshen finally spoke, “Can you disappear from my sight then?”
Feng Si’s voice lowered, “If I disappear, will everything from the past be completely wiped away?”
Lu Jingshen’s throat tightened, “Since you refuse, then stay.”
He despised the feeling of not being in control, and yet Feng Si was someone he couldn’t control. If he couldn’t make him disappear completely, then he would try to restrain him within his controllable range as much as possible.
After a moment of silent confrontation, Feng Si sneered, not exposing Lu Jingshen.
He stood up straight and turned on the lights with a “click,” returning to his carefree and casual demeanor, ” The Lu Jingshen personally hiring me, if I still refuse, wouldn’t that be disrespectful to you? But I also have one condition.”
Lu Jingshen quietly waited for him to continue, and Feng Si said, “I don’t have a place to stay in Beijing, nor do I plan to rent one. Since I’ll be working as a bodyguard, let me fulfill my duties and protect you 24/7.”
He deliberately elongated the last sentence, hinting at something ambiguous. Lu Jingshen’s eyes flickered imperceptibly, and then he calmly replied, “Okay.”
With that settled, he left immediately. As he was walking out of the room, in the final glance, he saw Feng Si, who was about to take a shower, take off his T-shirt and shorts, revealing his completely naked body.
He had healthy wheat-colored skin, broad shoulders, slim hips, muscular thighs, and a strong waist.
When Feng Si turned his head to look at him, Lu Jingshen had already averted his gaze.
The gaze that fell upon him disappeared beyond the closed door. Feng Si seemed to have realized it and smiled playfully.
At 11:30, Lu Jingshen set off to a suburban resort for a meeting.
Feng Si, the newly appointed intern bodyguard who hadn’t officially signed the contract, accompanied him.
In the car, Lu Jingshen closed his eyes to rest, while Feng Si sat beside him, with his hands in his pockets, looking lazy and relaxed, not sitting properly.
He casually asked Liu Jie, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, “Secretary Liu, who are we going to meet?”
Liu Jie glanced back at the closed-eyed Lu Jingshen and, seeing that he didn’t object, replied, “We have an appointment with the CEO of Chongsheng Capital to discuss the acquisition of Xinfeng Technology.”
Feng Si raised an eyebrow, “Xinfeng Technology? The one who caused trouble for Mr. Lu yesterday?”
“That Zhao Yuanping is the founder and CEO of Xinfeng Technology, and the second-largest shareholder,” Liu Jie shook her head, “He was too audacious. He even boasted that Xinfeng Technology would surpass Shangxin Corporation within a few years. He didn’t realize his own position, and Mr. Lu directly dealt with him.”
Feng Si laughed, “Capitalists indeed don’t regard others as human.”
Liu Jie’s smile froze for a moment. Although what Feng Si said was true, it was the first time someone said it so directly in front of Lu Jingshen.
Feng Si dared to say it, but she didn’t dare to respond, “You can’t say it like that. We offered a fair price for acquiring Xinfeng’s shares. If he was smart, he could have gracefully taken the money and left. That Zhao Yuanping is indeed not suited for anything other than technology. If he had been willing to stay, the boss would have arranged the most suitable position for him. It’s his own dissatisfaction that made him confront the boss.”
Feng Si’s focus shifted, “Boss, you call Lu Jingshen ‘boss’?”
Liu Jie explained, “Because there is not only one Lu Jingshen in the company, there is also Lu Jingshen’s father and sister. Lu Jingshen’s father is the chairman, and his sister is the president. To differentiate, everyone in the company calls Lu Jingshen ‘boss,’ you can also call him that.”
Feng Si smiled, “I see, but I don’t really like that title.”
Liu Jie remained silent, deciding not to say anything further to avoid getting entangled with that stubborn rogue Feng Si.
As for Lu Jingshen, he kept his eyes closed and ignored them throughout. It wasn’t clear whether he was sleeping or not.
After forty minutes, the car arrived at a secluded resort hidden in the mountains. Lu Jingshen got off the car, and a middle-aged man in casual attire was waiting at the entrance, shaking hands with him warmly.
Lu Jingshen had a perfectly timed, formal smile on his lips as he exchanged pleasantries.
Feng Si’s gaze swept over his face, squinting his eyes slightly.
It was the first time Feng Si had seen that poised and astute businessman image of Lu Jingshen. Compared to the fake smile he had put on earlier in front of him, this seemed more acceptable, though it still made him want to tear off Lu Jingshen’s mask.
After exchanging pleasantries, they entered the resort and took a tour around. Then they sat down for dinner.
During the meal, the CEO of Chongsheng, Lin Wenhai, mentioned the incident that happened previously and asked about Lu Jingshen if he was okay. Lu Jingshen wasn’t surprised that he knew about it, considering it happened within the jurisdiction of Shanghai, and Zhao Yuanping had been detained.
Lu Jingshen replied casually, “I’m fine, it’s just that my assistant got burned.”
Feng Si ate his food without putting down his chopsticks like the others when Lu Jingshen and Lin Wenhai were talking.
If Lu Jingshen said he was an assistant, then he was an assistant. It sounded better than a bodyguard anyway.
Whether it was a personal assistant or a personal bodyguard, they were all the same.
“This Zhao Yuanping is becoming more and more hopeless. I’ve talked to him several times before, but he never listens. It’s good that he got detained for a few days. He needs to learn a lesson,” scolded Lin Wenhai. He didn’t care much about an assistant getting burned. He was just going along with what Lu Jingshen said.
Lu Jingshen wasn’t interested in continuing the discussion, so he got straight to the point and presented their acquisition offer.
Lin Wenhai pondered for a moment and said, “Shangxin has shown sincerity in acquiring our shares of Xinfeng. We are naturally willing, but it seems there is still room for an increased price.”
Lu Jingshen responded, “This is already our third-round offer. If Mr. Lin is still unsatisfied, we might reconsider the acquisition.”
He knew that Lin Wenhai would aim high even though their offer was already substantial.
Shangxin’s CFO nodded in agreement, indicating that they wouldn’t raise the offer further.
Lu Jingshen continued, “If Zhao Yuanping insists on not selling his shares and continues to stay at Xinfeng, even if we marginalize him, given his personality, he is likely to cause trouble. My assistant didn’t suffer any major harm from yesterday’s incident, but we may not be so lucky next time. Taking that into consideration, we are somewhat hesitant.”
While speaking, Lu Jingshen glanced at Feng Si, and all the eyes in the room followed. Feng Si smiled in response and jokingly said, “It’s my duty to risk my life for the boss. Next time, even if it’s a knife, I’ll still protect him.”
Everyone at the table laughed, including Lin Wenhai. He didn’t think that Lu Jingshen would be scared away from acquiring Xinfeng just because of a minor incident. But negotiations in the business world were like that—everything seemed both real and fake.
Seeing that there was no room for further negotiation in terms of price, Lin Wenhai didn’t insist. He mentioned that he would think about it and give them a reply later.
After dinner, Lin Wenhai invited Lu Jingshen to play golf at the resort’s golf course.
Feng Si, the personal bodyguard and assistant, also worked as a caddy, handing golf clubs to Lu Jingshen on the side.
Half an hour later, Lin Wenhai went to the side to take a phone call, leaving Lu Jingshen alone on the golf course. When Lu Jingshen heard Feng Si’s suppressed laughter, he turned his head and glanced at him, their eyes meeting. Feng Si asked, “Did you bring me here just to use me to negotiate with Mr. Lin?”
Lu Jingshen ignored him and turned back, estimating the distance to his target ahead. He shifted his focus, aimed at the ball in front of him, and went through his swing. From start to finish, his eyes followed the ball’s trajectory.
Feng Si, on the other hand, openly stared at him, his gaze lingering on Lu Jingshen’s waist as it moved with his swinging motion, as if it evoked some vulgar thoughts, a smile forming in his eyes.
Lu Jingshen turned to face him again, raising his chin slightly, “Do you want to give it a try?”
Feng Si shrugged, “Forget it, I’m not interested in wasting time on things rich people do.”
He continued, “As for you, you’re either busy reading documents and attending meetings all day or pretending to be someone else while negotiating business deals. And now you have to play this boring game with these people. Do you find it interesting?”
In Feng Si’s impression, Lu Jingshen wasn’t that kind of person, or at least not back then.
At that time, the person who dared to wander alone in Africa with a backpack, playing skydiving, bungee jumping, and deep-sea diving, how could he be the current Lu Jingshen, always dressed in suits and not prone to smiling?
Lu Jingshen paused for a moment, his gaze falling back to the front, under the smiling eyes of Feng Si staring at him.
He didn’t say a word and once again struck the ball with force
