Stars run to him chapter 90

Extra 3 part 1 ;Nesting

When Lin Yuxing turned 25, he made a solemn decision.

He wanted to spend his life with Gu Zhongyi.

After the final treatment to repair the scars from his glands, they came together to the research institute to meet with Ji Mu.

Ji Mu personally examined Lin Yuxing’s glands and carefully reviewed all of his medical reports from all the hospitals he’s been to. Finally, a faint smile appeared at the corner of Ji Mu’s mouth.

“While your glandular skin can’t be completely restored to its original state, now, even without gland patches, there won’t be much visual impact.”

Ji Mu couldn’t help but be more concerned about the scar on Lin Yuxing’s back. “What about the scar on your back?”

Lin Yuxing contentedly answered, “Just like the skin on my glands, it can’t fully recover. But I’m satisfied with how it is now.”

In between their conversation, Lin Yuxing’s hand was held by Gu Zhongyi’s, their fingers interlocking and tightening quietly.

Both of their ring fingers bore a ring.

Lin Yuxing’s lips curved as he smiled at Gu Zhongyi.

Then, as if receiving Lin Yuxing’s silent consent, Gu Zhongyi took out an invitation card from the inner pocket of his suit and placed it on Ji Mu’s desk.

Gu Zhongyi’s smile couldn’t be contained as he spoke, his eyes shimmering with excitement.

“Uncle Ji, we’ve decided to get married.”

Ji Mu nearly choked on his tea in surprise. “So soon? I heard from Yuanchen that you just moved into a new house last month, and now you’re getting married?”

Seeing Ji Mu’s reaction, Lin Yuxing blushed behind his ears and explained, “Uncle Ji, do you remember what you told me years ago about how the mark would stabilize my glands?”

“I did mention it.” Ji Mu picked up the invitation card and reminisced, “Your compatibility is high, so the mark is definitely a good thing for you.”

Lin Yuxing nodded, his gaze shifting to Gu Zhongyi again, his tone full of happiness.

He had also changed the way he addressed Gu Zhongyi, no longer using “senior” as he did before.

Lin Yuxing said, “The scars on my glands used to look bothersome, and even if Zhongyi didn’t mind, I always did. But now, I can accept being marked.”

Just like the scars in his memory, they were also healed by time and embraced by boundless love.

Lin Yuxing spoke firmly, “I want to marry Zhongyi, make him my true Alpha, and spend the rest of my life with him.”

For young people, these words might be considered old-fashioned. But Lin Yuxing always felt that he couldn’t keep up with the trends of his peers, and for someone like Gu Zhongyi, who had lived a second life, these words were just right.

Gu Zhongyi’s eyes were full of tenderness.

After a while, Ji Mu opened the invitation card and examined it for a moment, then sincerely blessed them, “Congratulations.”

But as a professional, Ji Mu not only gave his blessings but also had some advice for them.

“Considering Lin Yuxing’s glands have become somewhat sensitive due to repeated skin repairs, I won’t say much about other matters, as I’m sure the doctors have already covered that. I’ll just mention one thing: after being marked, Lin Yuxing will very likely exhibit nesting behavior. Zhongyi, be mentally prepared to deal with it.”

Gu Zhongyi thought it was leading to something negative, and his heart raced. Lin Yuxing, who was sitting beside him, grew tense too, quietly waiting for Ji Mu to continue.

However, Ji Mu’s words instantly reddened Lin Yuxing’s face.

“Lin Yuxing is very likely to exhibit nesting behavior.”

“Ne… Nesting?” Lin Yuxing was surprised. He had read about this in a book. It was a rare event, but if it happened, it would probably be quite embarrassing.

He became a bit uneasy, silently praying that he wouldn’t develop in that strange direction, and he definitely shouldn’t nest…

Ji Mu noticed Lin Yuxing’s expression and knew he understood.

“Nesting is actually a normal phenomenon. You don’t have to feel pressured or embarrassed. After all… when Omega nests, it’s basically seeking Alpha pheromones in a state of unconsciousness, it’s ‘reasonable.'”

At most, it’s a bit awkward for a while.

Fortunately, the various embarrassing behaviors during nesting were limited to providing pleasure for their Alpha. In simpler terms, it could even improve their relationship.

After comforting Lin Yuxing for a while, Ji Mu instructed him to get his gland stability tested once more. This time, Ji Mu didn’t personally accompany him; instead, an assistant came and took him to the examination room.

In the office, only Ji Mu and Gu Zhongyi were left.

Gu Zhongyi said, “Uncle Ji, please go ahead if you have something to say.”

Ji Mu tapped his fingertips on the table and began, “After being marked, it’s best for you to take a week off and stay close to him, releasing calming pheromones.”

“I know that.”

“Also, looking at Lin Yuxing’s gland values, there shouldn’t be any surprises. He’ll most likely exhibit nesting behavior.” Ji Mu’s main point was yet to come, and he suddenly added, “So, make sure to buy more underwear in days to come.”

Gu Zhongyi thought he had misheard.

Ji Mu repeated, “Buy more underwear and try to wear it all.”

Gu Zhongyi fell silent for a moment. In front of an elder, he didn’t know what to say.

Slowly, in an incredulous tone, Gu Zhongyi said, “For nesting, do I… need my… underwear? Isn’t nesting supposed to involve me? Shouldn’t I be involved?”

“Perhaps?” Ji Mu couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, pondering, “It depends on what situation Lin Yuxing falls into. You should prepare just in case.”

With a sigh, Ji Mu added, saying something that was particularly meaningless for Gu Zhongyi.

“By the way, Zhongyi. If you find it hard to deal with Lin Yuxing’s nesting, you can ask Han Yang. He has experience.” Ji Mu essentially sold Gu Nuan out, exposing him mercilessly, “When little Nuan was nesting… it was quite hectic, but Han Yang handled it well.”

In Ji Mu’s impression, Han Yang had always been a role model for other Alphas to learn from.

However, the expression on Gu Zhongyi’s face darkened, but then he returned to his usual demeanor and politely declined, “Thank you, Uncle Ji, I can handle it myself.”

As the day of marking drew near…

Gu Zhongyi and Lin Yuxing had both properly arranged their work and then submitted their requests for a week-long leave to their respective supervisors.

Reason for leave: Unable to work normally due to partner’s marking period.

In C country, this was considered a legitimate reason for taking a leave.

Lin Yuxing’s supervisor quickly approved his leave.

As for Gu Zhongyi’s supervisor, it was Gu Nuan.

Gu Nuan, now exuding the demeanor of a little CEO, tapped his chin thoughtfully, “A week might not be enough, I’ll give you two weeks off.” He had a somewhat CEO-like aura, saying, “I’ll also remind Yuxing, you both will have paid leave!”

When there were no outsiders present, Gu Nuan was especially lively. He had an understanding tone, “If two weeks aren’t enough, just take the whole month off!”

Gu Zhongyi: “?”

Gu Nuan grinned, “Don’t thank me.”

Gu Zhongyi sighed, saying, “Thank you…”

“Hehe~”

At this moment, there was a light knock on the office door.

Gu Nuan’s secretary walked in, holding a stack of documents. The secretary greeted Gu Zhongyi respectfully upon seeing him.

Gu Zhongyi nodded slightly, then turned to look at Gu Nuan. The cheerful expression on that little rascal’s face had disappeared completely, replaced by the calm and composed demeanor that suited Gu Nuan as the CEO, along with a hint of seriousness.

Gu Nuan raised his eyes slightly and pretentiously adjusted his tie. He spoke in a cold tone, “I’ve approved your vacation, have a pleasant time off.”

With that, he took the stack of documents from his secretary’s hands and began to read them carefully.

Gu Zhongyi: “…”

…….

However, when everything was ready…

Lin Yuxing didn’t follow the expected pattern.

During the two days after being marked, Lin Yuxing’s behavior was no different from his usual self. Apart from enjoying sticking close to Gu Zhongyi and seeking comfort through his pheromones, he behaved normally in all aspects.

For this reason, Lin Yuxing believed he had a natural talent, even calling Lin Yuheng to tell him about it.

Lin Yuheng, who was currently making pineapple pastries with Liao Yan’s mother, picked up the phone and walked into a room, closing the door. As he listened, he remembered his own marking experience and shuddered involuntarily.

Lin Yuheng genuinely admired his little brother, praising him, “Maybe you’re just naturally good at this.”

“It’s so fortunate that I don’t have to nest.”

“I’ve never experienced nesting, but it’s better to avoid unnecessary trouble.” Lin Yuxing chuckled mischievously.

Lin Yuheng suddenly asked, “Wait, wouldn’t Gu Zhongyi be disappointed?”

In theory, Omegas marked by Alphas were usually very clingy to their Alpha partners during that time.

After all, many Alphas wait their whole lives for those few days.

However, Lin Yuxing had dashed Gu Zhongyi’s expectations as an Alpha in an instant.

Of course, Gu Zhongyi might not have been that expectant anyway.

For him, Lin Yuxing’s happiness equated to his own peace of mind. Moreover, they were always very sweet to each other, so a few days wouldn’t make a significant difference.

So, on the third day, when Gu Zhongyi received a work-related call from his subordinate, Lin Yuxing generously allowed him to go to the company.

Gu Zhongyi was still worried and intended to handle the matter remotely.

Lin Yuxing was sitting on the sofa, holding half of a honeydew melon and eating with a spoon. He was engrossed in a TV drama as he spoke, “I really don’t have anything to do. The comfort pheromones you left behind are enough to keep me content all afternoon. Zhongyi, go ahead, try to come back as soon as possible.”

In Lin Yuxing’s eyes, work was very important, even more important than anything else.

They were both outstanding employees at the Gu Corporation.

Gu Zhongyi listened to his words, hesitated for a while, and then felt slightly reassured, he quickly changed his clothes and left.

As a result, two hours later, when Gu Zhongyi returned home…

The living room was empty, and the bedroom’s wardrobe had been ravaged, looking as if a thief had passed through. Upon closer inspection, all his personal clothes, including a large amount of underwear that he had prepared in advance, were nowhere to be found.

Even his Omega… was missing.

Gu Zhongyi panicked, regretting leaving the house. He immediately began searching, combing through every room in the three-bedroom apartment, even checking the bathroom, kitchen, and storage room.

“Yuxing?!”

“Yuxing—”

Just as Gu Zhongyi was becoming increasingly anxious, a faint sound came from an empty closet in the bedroom.

Gu Zhongyi quickly opened it.

An overwhelming citrus scent, characteristic of Lin Yuxing’s pheromones, rushed out.

Sweet to the point of being overwhelming.

For a moment, Gu Zhongyi couldn’t react, finally managing to calm himself down.

Inside, Lin Yuxing had used his underwear and clothes to construct a sturdy nest. With a slightly red face, he was panting softly, curled up into a ball with misty eyes.

The moment he saw Gu Zhongyi, Lin Yuxing seemed not to recognize him. He hastily closed the closet door as if avoiding something.

Gu Zhongyi opened it again, and Lin Yuxing burst into tears.

Lin Yuxing’s voice was tinged with a crying tone, pitifully asking, “Are you going to take them away?”
